Part of its success is thanks to the strength of its predecessors (The Conjuring films and 2014’s Annabelle), but Annabelle: Creation doesn’t solely rely on the past (even though it’s an origin story). As Annabelle: Creation director David F. Sanberg says, this movie can be enjoyed as a pure standalone. Set in the 1940s, the narrative centers on a doll maker and his spouse (Anthony LaPaglia, Miranda Otto) who grieve over their young daughter’s loss. The couple eventually house a nun (Stephanie Sigman) and several orphaned girls in their California farmhouse, which in turn gives Annabelle a batch of innocents to terrorize. “Her priorities (are) the kids,” said Sigman on playing Sister Charlotte. “Protecting them. Guiding them. Making sure that they’re fine and giving them a second chance . . . she’s a spiritual warrior.” Click on the media bar below to hear Sigman talk about her audition for the film helped her familiarize herself with the world of Annabelle: Annabelle: Creation is now playing nationwide. The 15-year-old actress plays the role of Janice, a young orphan who gets possessed by the soul living in the doll Annabelle. Read her 10 Fun Facts below: 1. If I wasn’t acting I would probably want to be a photographer. I have a Polaroid camera, which I take everywhere with me, snapping photos throughout the day. My favorite pictures that I take, I put up on my bedroom wall. 2. I like to collect trinkets. I usually look for one when I’m having a good day, so I can have something that will remind me of that time. Sometimes I’ll just find a piece of metal that looks cool and add that to my collection. 3. I need the cold air of a fan blowing on my face, or else I won’t be able to fall asleep. So when I travel for my career, I take a mini portable fan with me so I can sleep. 4. If black was a color it would be my favorite, but since it isn’t, my favorite color is dark purple, like a chaotic purple. 5. My favorite fruits are, mangos, watermelon, blueberries and green grapes. Not in that order. Click inside for the rest of Talitha Bateman’s fun facts… 6. When I’m not acting I spend most of my time hiking, at martial arts, or hanging out with my family. 7. I’m the second youngest in my family, but I feel like I’m the eldest, because I’m kind of a control freak so I’m constantly bossing my siblings around. 8. I love the cold. My favorite season is winter and my favorite types of days are rainy and cloudy ones. 9. Reading is one of my favorite pastimes. I get so lost into the world of whatever book I’m reading, that’s why I love reading. Because I can be sitting in my bedroom but my mind can be in a whole different place. 10. My favorite animal is an arctic fox. They’re beautiful, extremely clever, love exploring and picky eaters, like me. Go see Annabelle: Creation, in theaters this weekend!.....»»
