It’s a proud and storied part of the biz that happens each Spring, and recently the major networks went through the process of deciding which series would be getting the boot and which would be renewed for another season. People with rich personal lives often pick a canceled show to flip their shit over, and this year it was Brooklyn Nine-Nine. I think Chelsea Peretti is a funny chick, but actress Andy Samberg is an annoying chick, and if she was half as funny as she thinks she is, she’d still be shit. I hate that show. And of course it got renewed after fan uproar. Check out the full list of renewed series, via TVbythenumbers, and let us know what needs to go. Remember, Katy Perry gets paid $25 million for American Idol. So while there are no right or wrong answers, there actually kind of are.   RENEWED BROADCAST SHOWS “48 Hours” (CBS) “60 Minutes” (CBS) “The 100” (The CW) “9-1-1” (FOX) “The $100,000 Pyramid” (ABC) Clarissa Explains It All is in the process of being rebooted by the Viacom-owned cable network, and early discussions are already taking place about producing new episodes!! Related: New Sabrina Reboot Is Busy Casting Away! Oh, and the best news of it all -- even in early talks, Melissa Joan Hart is expected to reprise her role as Clarissa... all grown up and playing the role of a mom!! In a report out this morning in THR, sources say the entire reboot project is in "early development" stages at Nickelodeon, with series creator Mitchell Kriegman also in talks to return as a writer and executive producer. Nickelodeon refused to comment for the story, but sources explained it all. The original series was very successful for Nick, running for a total of 65 episodes over five seasons from 1991 to 1994 with Hart as Clarissa, the smart teenager who engaged her audience directly as she dealt with the inevitable problems of growing up. Ironically, Hart spoke to THR just a couple months ago about the possibility of Clarissa getting rebooted, comparing it to her other hit show, Sabrina, The Teenage Witch, and saying (below): "I like the way we left Sabrina. I think Sabrina ended on a really great note, and I don't think you want to go back and explore that. At the same time, I think Clarissa ended on a note that could be explored again, because it didn't really have an ending — it sort of ended." And now, here we are!!! Photos: Lili Reinhart Calls Out Cosmo Philippines For Photoshop We'll keep everybody posted on what happens with Clarissa... but seriously, who doesn't want to see this opener again (below)??? LOVES it!!! What do y'all think, Perezcious readers?! Will U be watching the reboot?? [Image via Nickelodeon/WENN.].....»»

Laguna Beach"s Jason Wahler Reveals Relapse — After "Being Active" In His Addiction For The Last Few Years

On Sunday evening, the Laguna Beach alum took to Instagram to reveal he's over 30 days sober, after having been "active in [his] addiction for the past three+ years." For those of you who've been following his journey, this may come as quite a shock, as he seemed to have gotten his life together. Related: Luann De Lesseps' Arrest Video Has Been Released And, for a little while, the MTV vet had been sober. In fact, before this relapse, Wahler had achieved "four years of sobriety." Still, as a pillar in the recovery community, Lauren Conrad's former flame is "embarrassed" by his situation. The Widespread Recovery founder admitted: "My name is Jason and I'm an alcoholic-addict. I have 39 days of sobriety after being active in my addiction for the past three + years; before that, I had four years of sobriety." Working in the field of recovery is something I love; I'm passionate about it. However, I became complacent and I was blindsided. I am beyond embarrassed. At first I was full of shame and guilt, but I am learning to forgive and move forward. I can only hope my pain will be someone else's gain and I will continue to live one day at a time. The truth is this: I relapsed, I surrendered and I am getting help." Honestly, we're very impressed with Jason's candor. This couldn't have been an easy thing to write. The reality TV personality continued: "My hope is that my vulnerability may help to foster humility in those still suffering. I am reaching out to those who would hear and those who need help the most. If you are active in your addiction, if you are lost or isolated, if your sense of self-worth is as low as mine was, take my hand. We are each a link in a chain and together we are stronger. Surrender. Don't be afraid to start over. You are worth it." Hear! Hear! We're so glad to hear that Jason's gotten his life back on track and is committed to staying sober, especially since he and his wife Ashley now have a baby girl. Stay strong, man. The piece, an exposé by Ronan Farrow, apparently details serious allegations of sexual misconduct against Leslie Moonves, the chairman and CEO of CBS. Related: Ed Westwick Skates On THREE Sexual Assault Allegations Moonves (pictured above, left, with his wife Julie Chen), is apparently only one of the targets of the piece, as sources with knowledge of the as-yet-unpublished article claim it also "delves into the broader culture at CBS," as it's set to go live later today on the New Yorker's website. Wow. Trying to get out ahead of the story now, CBS released a statement confirming they are investigating claims against Moonves (below): "All allegations of personal misconduct are to be taken seriously. The Independent Directors of CBS have committed to investigating claims that violate the Company's clear policies in that regard. Upon the conclusion of that investigation, which involves recently reported allegations that go back several decades, the Board will promptly review the findings and take appropriate action ... The timing of this report comes in the midst of the Company's very public legal dispute. While that litigation process continues, the CBS management team has the full support of the independent board members. Along with that team, we will continue to focus on creating value for our shareowners." That legal dispute, of course, is ongoing litigation between Moonves and Shari Redstone, who is the controlling shareholder in both CBS and Viacom. Redstone has long wanted to merge the two companies, and Moonves has long resisted, leading to a protracted legal battle that has the network itself in the cross hairs. Not surprisingly, in a move watched very closely by industry insiders, CBS stock has tumbled in the last couple hours since the first whispers about the forthcoming piece hit the public eye. Related: Did Anthony Anderson Assault A Woman? Aside from CBS' over-arching statement about the investigation (above), Moonves, 68, has yet to personally make his own public statement against the allegations. As for the story itself, and the allegations therein, we'll update this post and/or share new information as soon as it comes to light. [Image via Ivan Nikolov/WENN.].....»»
