A pizza festival in Bushwick, NY is being burnt to a crisp by ticket holders who say the event failed to deliver on its za supply and quality! Shortly after the New York City Pizza Festival began at 3 p.m. on Saturday for "a day long celebration of the dough, cheese, tasty sauces and delicious toppings," upset attendees warned others the festival was a complete disappointment. Related: Hillary Clinton Surprises Supporters With PIZZA! One commenter wrote on the event's Facebook page: "This thing is a joke!!! 4 tents, plates with small slices, over an hr wait to get in and we are still waiting now!! Don't bother peeps!" If that wasn't bad enough, many fuming foodies -- who spent up to $75 a ticket -- also began uploading photos of the slivers of slices they were given (above, minus the rapper) at the empty venue: All these people showed up for the New York City Pizza Festival but the tents are empty lolA post shared by Kizzle Shizzle (@krg7880) on Sep 9, 2017 at 1:39pm PDT Others couldn't help but compare it to Ja Rule's ill-fated Fyre Festival in the Bahamas, the supposed luxurious island getaway concert that ended up being a dumpster fire. Related: Fyre Festival Founder Arrested And Charged With Fraud! Organizers for the event posted an explanation on Facebook Saturday evening, saying they "had been hit by an incredible amount of delays in pizza delivery," adding: "Fresh, diverse, and delicious pizza was supposed to be delivered every 30 minutes. A make-up tasting will be announced shortly. Sincere apologies. Please do not come for the rest of the night's tastings. Apologies for inconvenience!" Of course, peeved ticket holders weren't satisfied with the half-baked apology. A separate Facebook group has been created threatening legal action against the "rotten scam," declaring: "This was a rotten scam, they promoted this as a pizza festival and a hamburger festival. People who arrived early said there were about 5 pies cut into micro slices of really bad pizza. There were no hamburgers! Clearly this is a scam and the organizers should be held accountable." Some attendees reported receiving a ticket refund, while others said they are having trouble getting their dough back. [Image via Facebook.].....»»

Rose McGowan Pulls Out Of Film Festival Appearance Amid Her Harvey Weinstein Rape Allegations

In case you were unaware, the Charmed alum was slated to be honored with an Ad Astra Award at the Kansas-based film festival. Sadly, 24 hours before her scheduled public appearance, organizers announced that Rose would no longer be coming. Related: All 45 Women Who Have Accused Harvey Weinstein So Far The festival noted via a press release: "We are sorry to announce that we've just been informed that Rose McGowan has canceled all upcoming public appearances due to compounding factors surrounding recent revelations in the Harvey Weinstein sexual harassment case." Oh man. We have a feeling this cancellation has something to do with the reports that the indie movie mogul may still be prosecuted for raping McGowan at the Sundance Film Festival in 1997. Not to mention, it's likely that this whole scandal has been emotionally exhausting for the Scream actress. Thankfully, the festival is being VVV understanding about Rose's cancellation. Tallgrass creative director Lela Meadow-Conner added: "While we're disappointed that Rose cannot be here with us in person, we understand that her well being is the priority. We support her and our thoughts are with her. We'll seize this opportunity to amplify her message and celebrate all the women filmmakers with works here at the 15th annual festival." Well said. In place of McGowan's appearance, the festival has pulled together a panel of women filmmakers, named #WokeWomen: A Candid Conversation with Tallgrass' Female Filmmakers. LOVES it! On the quickly assembled panel, Meadow-Conner explained: "The whole world is now aware, in large part due to Rose's efforts, about the rampant sexual harassment within the entertainment industry, and so in her honor, we have pulled together a panel of women filmmakers who will be attending the festival with their films, for a frank conversation, because the message doesn't stop here." AH-Mazing. Still, it's a shame the Harvey drama got in the way of Rose attending this gig. Perhaps she'll be honored again next year?? Oh, we hope so!! [Image via FayesVision/WENN.].....»»

Cloudy With A Chance Of Meatballs 2 3D (Sony) Week 2 [Runs 4,001] PG Friday $4.7M, Saturday $9.4M, Weekend $21.5M (-37%), Cume $60.5M 3. Rush (Imagine/Universal) Week 3 [Runs 2,308] R Friday $1.4M, Saturday $2.0M, Weekend $4.5M, Cume $18.2M Last week I wrote that I was worried about "Gravity" attracting an audience, despite stellar reviews. I wondered if audiences would feel like 3D and IMAX prices were worth it just to see Sandra Bullock floating in space. I mean, sci-fi without battles, robots, things exploding? Would moviegoers buy that? Well, it looks like I was wrong--audiences did indeed buy it, making the movie number one for the weekend and helping it break a number of records: largest October opening weekend, largest IMAX opening in October, largest openings ever for Bullock and Clooney, and 2nd largest for Cuaron (I would guess that his entry in the Harry Potter franchise is first). I've got to tell you, this is a time when I'm just thrilled to be wrong--there's nothing more discouraging then when someone makes a good movie and no one comes to see it. Congratulations, moviegoers of North America. You're awesome--and so is "Gravity." Go see it, and see it in 3D and IMAX if possible--if you've been waiting for a movie to make the 3D prices and annoying glasses worthwhile, this is it. And it's only 90 minutes, no Oscar bait bloat here. Thank you, Mr. Cuaron, Ms. Bullock, and Mr. Clooney. As for the other new opener this weekend, "Runner Runner," well, that flopped, which surprised no one. Did you see any ads for it? I think I saw one. It has that look of Ben Affleck saying, "I've just spent a lot of time directing a movie and I'm not sure how it's going to do, so let me just star in this and pick up a quick paycheck." I can't imagine anyone, other than the relatives of the people involved--and maybe not even them--feeling motivated to drag themselves out of their houses on a lovely (or rainy, depending on where you are) October weekend to see this movie, which looks like a Netflix pick for when you've just run out of ideas. So on to next week! Or actually not--this is the last entry for this blog. I'd like to thank Hollywood for providing me with enough news to write about each day (most of the time--there certainly were some dry spells). Thank you to casting rumors, box office reports, "10 best lists" and nominations, and film festivals where deals are announced. Thank you to projects that linger for years, generating endless posts (I'm thinking of you, "Highlander" and "The Crow" remakes). Thank you to movies that take forever to cast, like our number one movie this weekend, "Gravity"--remember when they thought it would star Angelina Jolie or Natalie Portman with Robert Downey Jr.? Thank you to troubled productions that generate an endless spiral of posts, like Portman's "Jane Got a Gun," which whipped through a directors and actors like used tissues for a brief comet-like run this March. Most of all, thank you to any of you who ever read anything over here. Oh, and of course I'd like to thank the Academy. Because everyone wants to thank the Academy......»»

Reporter Silenced For Asking Questions About The Louis C.K. Sexual Misconduct Allegations At Comedy Festival!

A former journalist for the now defunct Gawker addressed this point as she recounted her attempt at investigating the Louis C.K. sexual misconduct allegations while at the 2015 Just for Laughs festival in Montreal. For a Vice tell-all, Megan Koester recalled how she was shut down after asking several prominent comedians to weigh in on the accusations brought against the Emmy winner. Related: Just For Laughs Festival President Accused Of Sexual Misconduct In case you forgot, there have been rumors swirling around the stand-up professional for a while, which claim Louis exposes himself to female comics without consent. Gross, right?? Koester shared: "In 2015, I attended the Just for Laughs (JFL) festival in Montreal as a journalist writing on behalf of Gawker, a profoundly flawed organization I miss desperately. The organizers of the festival did not know the purpose of my presence was a desire to investigate the numerous rumors I'd heard about Louis C.K. behaving in a sexually inappropriate way. Had they known, I surely would not have been invited to attend. Because Louis, you see, is a 'friend' of the JFL organization." While stationed on the red carpet, the reporter asked the comedians to first weigh in on the Bill Cosby scandal. Many were quick to denounce the industry titan as it was at the height of the controversy. However, the moment she brought up Louis, the funny men claimed ignorance. Megan only had the chance to interview a handful of comedians, including Kevin Hart, about Louis' misdeeds before festival officials intervened. The writer continued: "I had just finished with my third interview of the afternoon, Kevin Hart (who responded with incredulity before his handler escorted him away from me), when a woman holding a clipboard called me off the carpet. She told me 'we've been receiving complaints' about the Louis question; no one I had asked so far, however, seemed outwardly upset by the inquiry." Although no one seemed outwardly pissed, the festival laid into Koester for putting C.K. on the hot seat. She recalled: "A tall man in a suit approached, relieving her of the duty of admonishing me. He was, in a word, livid. In two words: fucking livid. Red faced, he informed me that JFL is a 'family,' that Louis is a member of said 'family,' and that I could ask my question on 'my turf,' but that this was 'our turf." This wasn't "that kind" of red carpet, he informed me—it was a "friendly one," and Louis was a "friend of the festival." The man, who Megan later learned was Just For Laughs COO Bruce Hills, then threatened to kick her out of the event if she refused to ask "nice" questions on the red carpet. Megan tearfully apologized for her line of questions and returned to the step-and-repeat. While contemplating if she should stick around and ask innocuous questions, she spotted pal/comedian Andy Kindler. Related: Blac Chyna's Mom Sues Wendy Williams! On her decision to flee the red carpet, Koester explained: "Instead of sticking around and, in all likelihood, getting 'officially' kicked out, I left. I then proceeded to literally cry on Kindler's shoulder. It was, by design, not a pleasant experience. It was an attempt to intimidate me into silence, and it was successful. I never wrote the piece." Mr. Hills has since responded to Megan's account with the following statement: "My intent was to keep our awards ceremony as a celebratory event. In doing so, I was in no way defending nor aware of any allegations towards talent. If Ms. Koester wanted talent to comment on the record, we would hope she go through the proper journalistic protocols, be forthcoming with her intentions and request a full interview. We always ensure all talent at our festival have fair notice and opportunity to decide if they wish to address such questions with a representative of the press." Hmmm, very inneresting. Despite the support she received from loved ones and peers, she felt isolated as no one was willing to publicly help her investigate the allegations. Megan concluded: "Because that's the thing when you try to follow stories like this. Everyone wants to be your Deep Throat, but only under the cloak of anonymity. No one wants to be publicly affiliated with you, lest their careers suffer like yours for daring to ask the goddamned question that's on everyone's goddamned mind." Fair point!! Remember folks, it only takes one victim to go on the record for the dam to break! [Image via Instagram/WENN.].....»»
