Trump Supporters Think Obama Was Golfing During Hurricane Katrina — When He Wasn"t Even The President Then!

This is what happens when you yell about actual news being fake while spreading "alternative facts." Your followers become idiots. Your followers become idiots. Supporters took to Twitter this week to praise Donald Trump's response to Hurricane Harvey -- you know, the one where he exploited the tragedy for political gain and just two weeks previously rescinded an executive order to improve flood protections. Sorry, did we say praise Trump? We meant raise him up by tearing down Barack Obama, obviously. Related: Trump Is Literally The Most Unpopular First-Year President EVER The Twittersphere was filled with people talking about how Obama hadn't been nearly as good a president during Hurricane Katrina because he was too busy golfing. Of course, Obama wasn't a good president during Katrina. BECAUSE HE WASN'T PRESIDENT DURING KATRINA! Obama didn't take office until 2009, nearly three and a half years after the Hurricane hit the Gulf Coast. But that didn't stop the parade of ignorance (see below): Will you please get lost. Where were you when Katrina hit, oh right, playing golf. Now you want to play president. NEVER again — Annie Kleynjans (@AnnieKleynjans) August 28, 2017 He literally told the Gov of TX "anything u want, u got it". WTF else is he supposed to do? Be on the golf course like Obama was w/katrina? — Middle America Spoke (@GoBlue1131) August 28, 2017 Obama played golf at Martha's Vinyard when Katrina hit. Now he tries everything to upstage current POTUS. Pathetic. — Shawn Vermillion (@VermillionShawn) August 28, 2017 u guys are so quick to criticize Trump. Where was Obama when Hurricane Katrina hit… o yeah, he was playing golf for 3 days!! … SAD!! — fontaineaux (@Lynchburged) August 29, 2017 He isn't playing golf, like Obama during Katrina. — CJES (@Carolyn31806792) August 29, 2017 Obama played golf for a whole week before doing anything after katrina hit. — Joy Stewart (@ColtsFanJlynRN) August 26, 2017 On this anniversary of #HurricaneKatrina making landfall let us never forget... Barack Obama wasn't president. Stay in school kiddos. pic.twitter.com/qnBxOVTbZF — Schatz 🤦🏻‍♂️ (@emjbourne) August 29, 2017 Yes I do. I was immediately fixed it but the haters pounced quickly while not denying its point which was that Obama stayed golfing. — sheila (@sheila06942158) August 29, 2017 Right. The point still stands. Even though every aspect of it was factually inaccurate. Why are y'all being haters? Are there really THAT many completely ignorant American voters?? Maybe. But some analysts believe most of these Twitter users are actually bots -- fake accounts to send the same message en masse. This kind of commenting is a more pervasive form of spreading propaganda; while the message can be easily disproven, unlike a single website it can't be easily policed. This kind of fake news spreading is believed to have slightly influenced the election, so as ridiculous as this story is, it's no joke. Photos: 10 Times Donald Trump Helped Spread Fake News! Whether Trump supporters are delusional or illusory, we have a real problem here. Oh, and BTW -- Obama, an Illinois Senator at the time, wasn't golfing either. In fact, he took time to visit with Katrina evacuees in Houston. On Thursday, Michelle Obama attended the Simmons Leadership Conference in Boston where she, not surprisingly, had harsh words for President Donald Trump! Related: Barack & Michelle Obama Unveil Their Official Portraits! While speaking to Simmons President Helen Drinan, the former First Lady compared Trump's presidency to that of husband Barack Obama's using a very interesting, but accurate metaphor. According to People, the 54-year-old exclaimed: "For the eight years Barack was president, it was like having the 'good parent' at home. The responsible parent, the one who told you to eat your carrots and go to bed on time... And now we have the other parent. We thought it'd feel fun, maybe it feels fun for now because we can eat candy all day and stay up late, and not follow the rules."' Speaking of Barack, Michelle also mused on her husband's eight years in office: "I think about what I've learned from my husband, and I've learned watching him be a leader... And a lot of what I've learned about temperament and patience that really comes from him. I think he was born with that DNA... What I learned is that as he said, the arc of history is long, and what we're here to do is make a mark. And you do what you do because you know it's the right thing to do, not because you'll get credit for it, or because it says something about your personal legacy. You do the work because you're slowly moving the needle. There are times in history when we feel like you're going backward, but that's part of the growth." And no, Miz Obama has no plans to be commander-in-chief. Sorry y'all! "I don't want to be president, I don't think I should be president. I think I can do a lot of things, but that's not one of them... And we have to find women who understand their gifts and know where to put them to use. I know what I'm good at." Some things are not meant to be... [Image via Oscar Gonzalez/Kento Nara/Future Image/WENN.].....»»

Michelle Obama Talks "Standard Of Ethics" & Lack Of Diversity In Politics With Shonda Rhimes

It might be her 25th anniversary with Barack Obama, but Michelle Obama spent her day on Tuesday in conversation with with Shonda Rhimes at the Pennsylvania Conference for Women. During the girl power chat, the former FLOTUS discussed female empowerment and the "standards of ethics" used in the White House. Related: Barack Obama Admits He Shed Tears After Dropping Malia Off At Harvard The lawyer reflected on her family's time in charge -- and the differences facing our country now, joking: "For the last eight years, we had a standard of ethics, a lot of constraints. What it means to have a commander-in-chief that actually upholds the standards of the White House..." She went on to encourage women to "speak up" and demand a seat at the table, which is dominated by white men: "Don't waste your seat at the table and if you're scared to use your voice, then give up your seat to someone who can use it because we can't afford to waste that opportunity. I want women to pay attention, because this is what happens when we don't stand up. We give our seats up to those who are supposed to be there, because of the stereotypes of what power and success is supposed to be." The activist added: "I've been at so many tables and met so many fools who are imposters, but shame on us if we just let an imposter put us down. When you know what's right and you don't say anything, you see wrong happening and you sit quietly, that's what I want women to challenge to be, to speak up. We don't get to the right answers without raising our voices." On the subject of children, Michelle hasn't lost hope for our future generation: "I think they're more open in ways and less tolerant of obvious inequities. This generation will look at what is happening now in the world and say, ‘This doesn't feel right,' because they know what they were taught. They've been raised with an openness. Many kids today only know that Barack Obama was their president. They grew up only under hope and opportunity. I think now they will be less tolerant and feel some of what is happening now as what they intrinsically know is not what they were taught. The thing we cannot forget is that children know when people don't believe in them or they're not being invested in. Kids know when things are different for them, when they are being quieted or being treated fairly. It's sort of a shame on us adults when we treat kids like they don't know." As for the importance of diversity in Congress, Obama told Rimes: "Usually at the State of the Union address, what you see is this real dichotomy. On one side of the room it's a feeling of color. On one side of the room it's gray and white. On the other side of the room there's yellows and blues and greens. One side, all men, all white. On the other side, some women and people of color. Whenever I was sitting…I looked at that and thought ‘No wonder people don't trust politics. We're not even noticing what these rooms look like.'" Preach! After the inspiring chat, a recorded message from Barack popped up on the screen for him to tell his bride on their special day: "Your strength, grace, determination honesty, and the fact that you look so good doing all of this, it's remarkable. It's no wonder that as people got to know you as I got to know you, that they fell in love. It's truly the best decision I ever made to be persistent enough to ask you out on a date that you finally gave in and I hope you feel the same way." Feels!!! [Image via W.Wade/WENN.].....»»

She spoke to the tabloid in 2011, before anyone cared and long before reportedly being paid $130K by Trump's crooked lawyer to keep her mouth shut. Related: Trump Compared Stormy To His Daughter... In the full account, the adult film actress says she can "definitely describe his junk perfectly" and drops details like names of others who were around and some cray shit you just could NOT make up! See the craziest tidbits from the interview (below)! Trump Thinks His Hair Gives Him Power Stormy: We were talking about all sorts of things. I remember he asked me like, "I gotta ask you a question and I don't want to get you offended" and I was like, "Trust me, you can't." I was expecting some sort of vulgar question and it wasn't; it was something about how much money I make off the royalties of something. And then I remember saying to him, "Ok well I have a question for you and it IS offensive." And I asked him about his hair. I was like, "Dude, what's up with that?" and he laughed and he said, "You know, everybody wants to give me a makeover and I've been offered all this money and all these free treatments." And I was like, "What is the deal? Don't you want to upgrade that? Come on, man." He said that he thought that if he cut his hair or changed it, that he would lose his power and his wealth. And I laughed hysterically at him. IT: What did he say? Stormy: He took it pretty well. He was like, "Yeah, yeah, my wife even did my son's hair like that, as a joke." I was like, "Yes, speaking of your wife…" IT: Did he mention her at all? Stormy: I mentioned her. I was like, "Yeah, what about your wife?" He goes, "Oh, don't worry about her." Quickly, quickly changed the subject. The Sex Was Boring But Not Terrible IT: Was the sex romantic? Stormy: It was textbook generic. It wasn't like, "Oh my God, I love you." He wasn't like Fabio or anything. He wasn't trying to have, like, porn sex. IT: Did he say anything to you during? Stormy: Nothing freaky. Like, "Oh yeah, that feels good. That's amazing." You know. It was one position, what you would expect someone his age to do. It wasn't bad. Don't get me wrong. Stormy: So anyway, the sex was nothing crazy. He wasn't like, chain me to the bed or anything. It was one position. I can definitely describe his junk perfectly, if I ever have to. He definitely seemed smitten after that. He was like, "I wanna see you again, when can I see you again?" Trump Apparently Didn't Use Protection While Cheating On His Wife... Ew IT: Did you use protection? Stormy: No. IT: Was that a conversation or was it kind of in the moment? Stormy: It was kind of in the moment. And I was really kind of upset about it because I am so, like, careful. The company I work for is condom-only. But I remember for a fact that we didn't because I'm allergic to latex. And I didn't go up there with condoms on me. I know that for a fact because 99% of men don't carry non-latex condoms on them, so I usually always have one in my backpack but I thought I was going to dinner, so I only had a tiny little cocktail purse. NFL Star Ben Roethlisberger Can Corroborate Part Of This Story Stormy: I ended up leaving and the next night I saw him again at a party. It was in the downstairs of the hotel I was in and he was hanging out with Ben Roethlisberger. When I got there, he was already with him. He had Keith, his bodyguard, call me and ask me if I was coming. When I got there, I called Keith and he told me where he was sitting and he brought me over. And he was hanging out with Ben for a long time. A couple other people around, nobody famous. Mostly people trying to hang on to them. Ben had just won the Super Bowl that year. Donald excused himself. He had to leave, I don't remember why, and he made Ben promise to take care of me. I stayed another 15-20 minutes and Ben Roethlisberger actually walked me up to my room that night because Donald told him to. Yeah, he walked me all the way to my hotel room. Trump Called Her A Lot -- And He Called Her "Honeybunch" Stormy: He always called me from a blocked number. He gave me — of course I had Keith, his bodyguard's number — he gave me his secretary's number, Rhona, which is his direct office line. Note: This checks out. Keith Schiller was Trump's bodyguard turned Oval Office Operations manager, and Rhona Graff was Trump's longtime secretary, and is still described as a sort of backdoor conduit for people who want to get in touch with the President. Stormy: Anytime I needed to get ahold of him, he always took my call or called me back within 10 minutes if he was on another call or wasn't there. I think she would call him and he would call me back from his cell if he wasn't in his office. The number was always blocked. He called me about every 10 days. He always called me "honeybunch." He's like, "How's it going, honeybunch?" He always started the conversation off, I think it was always his excuse to call, "I just read about you in such and such or there's a quote about you in magazine, I turned on my channel in my hotel room and guess whose face popped up?" Just like anytime he saw or read about me somewhere. I was super busy at the time. I've taken a year off because I had a baby, but I was everywhere at the time. That's when I did and was doing red carpets so there was pictures of me like all the time. That was always sort of his excuse to call: "Hey, did you know that you were on such and such? We need to get together to talk about your thing." Stormy Was Cheating Too Stormy: Anytime I called, he would call — it was funny if like my assistant or my boyfriend, who is now my ex-husband, he was my boyfriend at the time, was with me, I would always have him on speakerphone. I mean, it's Donald Trump. IT: Were you with your boyfriend when you slept with Donald Trump? Stormy: Yeah. IT: Did he know about the situation? Stormy: He didn't know that detail but he knew everything else. He called me all the time. Trump Has A Shark Phobia Stormy (describing her last encounter with Trump in Beverly Hills): We had dinner once again in his room. I had swordfish that time. Once again, no alcohol. The strangest thing about that night — this was the best thing ever. You could see the television from the little dining room table and he was watching Shark Week and he was watching a special about the U.S.S. something and it sank and it was like the worst shark attack in history. He is obsessed with sharks. Terrified of sharks. He was like, "I donate to all these charities and I would never donate to any charity that helps sharks. I hope all the sharks die." He was like riveted. He was like obsessed. It's so strange, I know. IT: So it's just you and him in the bungalow? Stormy: Yeah. But isn't that weird? So strange. So we finished dinner and we moved to the sofa so he could get a better view of Shark Week. Weirdly, that checks out too. Just check out these tweets from early July (aka, Shark Week) two years after she gave the interview: Sharks are last on my list - other than perhaps the losers and haters of the World! — Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) July 4, 2013 Sorry folks, I'm just not a fan of sharks - and don't worry, they will be around long after we are gone. — Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) July 4, 2013 The Affair Ended When Stormy Got Pregnant Stormy: Like I said, he always called from a blocked number and for the last year and a half I honestly don't know if he's called me or not because when I got pregnant with my daughter, I completely stopped taking calls that I didn't know. My fans don't know I had a baby. I left LA and lived in Vegas and basically hid out. I just really stopped taking calls from blocked numbers, numbers that I didn't know. I even stopped answering people that I did know, like other celebrities that I'm friends with that would just want to hang out or go out in Hollywood. Trump Lied To Stormy About Getting Her On Celebrity Apprentice The biggest thread throughout, and the subject Stormy says Trump talked to her about the most, was the lie that he would "100%" get her on Celebrity Apprentice: Stormy: And then he goes — I might be out of order with the conversation because it was so long ago. But he was like, "You know what? You're really smart. You're not dumb." And I was like, "Thanks, d---. What does that mean?" And he goes, "You should be on." And I was like, "Really? No, I don't think so." And he just kept thinking about it, I could see his little wheels turning. He goes, "No, it would be really, really good for you. People would think you're just this idiot with blond hair and big boobs. You would be perfect for it because you're such a smart businesswoman. You write and you direct and you produce and obviously you're hot and you're beautiful." And I was like, "Well, it's never going to happen. NBC is never going to let a porn star on." And he was like, "I can make it happen." And I was like, "You can't. I dare you." I was totally egging him on. And that was kind of like the thing, he was like, "No, we have to work on this for you." And that was sort of what he tried to bait me with for an entire year. He was like, "We have to get together to talk about your appearance on." But he was serious. I think when it hit him in the moment, he was like, "Yeah, this is going to be really good." And it could have. Of course, it would have been sensational. He just kept pushing for it, pushing for it. And he was like, "Would you do it?" I was like, "You know what, I'm not going to waste my energy on thinking about it, but if you actually have the power to make it happen, then I'll do it." IT: Did he promise you that? Stormy: Yeah, absolutely. He told me that he got a wild-card choice. That he could push one person through at will. IT: And he said it was going to be you? Stormy: Absolutely. 100% he promised me. Stormy: That's when he broke the news to me that it almost went through but there's somebody that had a problem and it got vetoed and blah blah blah. I was like, "I told you, you couldn't make it happen." I was pretty annoyed. IT: How do you feel about all this — the broken promises? What's your take? Stormy: I don't really know. I don't have any animosity or whatever. IT: Do you feel like a fool for believing him about? Stormy: No. I wasn't like going around telling everybody, "Oh my God, I'm going to be on." It's not like I bought into it 100%. I was challenging him to make it happen. I figured my shot was 50-50 even though he swore up and down it was 100. It's not just him. I never really get my hopes up on big stuff like that. Stormy says she decided to speak to the press after hearing about Trump hypocritically badmouthing the adult industry: Stormy: He went on some tirade how he would never be associated with someone…blah blah blah. But clearly I do a lot more than just pose for. So that just makes me wonder if he was just flat-out lying the whole time. I didn't have any unrealistic expectations of actually being on the show; I figured my chances were 50-50, I did believe that he was shy. So now I wonder if the whole thing was just a f---ing lie. IT: Just to impress you, to try to sleep with you? Stormy: Yeah. And I guess it worked. BTW -- don't feel too bad for Stormy. According to TMZ, her affair with Trump might end up making her some more money -- at her latest dancing gig. Apparently The Trophy Club in Greenville, South Carolina is using it to advertise! We guess you can't hold strip clubs to confidentiality agreements... [Image via MySpace.].....»»

Dancing With The Stars Votes Off One Fan Fave Duo Before The Finale! Recap HERE!

The end is near. On Monday evening, the remaining four couples on Dancing With The Stars went head-to-head by performing one redemption number, as well as, dancing a freestyle routine. On Monday evening, the remaining four couples on Dancing With The Stars went head-to-head by performing one redemption number, as well as, dancing a freestyle routine. The opportunity to tackle a weaker performance from earlier in the season was clearly a bone thrown to underdog contestants Frankie Muniz and Drew Scott. Video: Ellen's Attempt To Scare Garth Brooks Is An Epic Fail We mean, to be honest, we're shocked those two stars have made it THIS far into the competition. Sadly, only one celeb rose to the occasion and was able to be saved for another week. Oh, and before we forget, Julianne Hough returned to guest judge the finalists. Boy, were we thrilled to have her back!!! Anywho, we bet you're trying to figure out who went home! Right??? Discover that AND HIGHlights from Monday night's episode (below)… Jordan Fisher and Lindsay Arnold have been the frontrunners in this competition since, like, day one. Seriously, the pair have nabbed a perfect score almost every week. Nonetheless, Fisher and Arnold "redeemed" their nearly flawless Charleston. Of course, they killed it and got 10s across the board. Despite struggling in rehearsal for their freestyle number, the twosome were once again perfect as they incorporated lighting, props, and other showy tricks. Unsurprisingly, the received ANOTHER perfect score! Lindsey Stirling was dubbed the "most improved" dancer after she and partner Mark Ballas beautifully redid their quickstep. The judges loved the second effort so much that they gave Stirling and Ballas a perfect score. As for the freestyle routine, Lindsey and Mark made sure to incorporate the musician's incredible violinist skills into the number. Not only was the routine dark and sexy, but it was VVV unique too. The two scored another 40/40. Jordan and Lindsay better watch out! Although Frankie has worked his butt off this season, he just can't compete with Jordan and Lindsey's superior dance skills. Nonetheless, the Malcolm In The Middle alum and his partner, Witney Carson sincerely tried to perfect their previous Foxtrot. They did a lovely job and walked away with a score of 38/40. Frankie and Witney impressed once again with their dark freestyle number. Although Muniz lost some steam halfway through the routine, the pair floored the judges with their smoldering intensity. The couple received another 38/40. Way to go!! Now, if Frankie is a weak dancer, Drew is just plain bad. We're sorry, but you know we're right. Despite giving it his all, the HGTV star didn't exactly bring it for the redemption number. Regardless, Scott's spirit impressed the judges enough to give Drew and Emma Slater 9s across the board. We feel a 36/40 was very generous. For their freestyle routine, the underdog pair attempted a fast-paced number which everyone loved -- except Carrie Ann Inaba. In all fairness, Inaba wasn't wrong when she pointed out that Drew was out of sync at one point. Shockingly, Drew and Emma were given a 39/40. At the end of the night, Drew and Emma were on the chopping block, along with Frankie and Witney. Ultimately, Drew and Emma were the ones eliminated. See it go down for yourself (below). What do YOU think? Did the right couple go home?? SOUND OFF in the comments (below)! And tune in tonight for the finale! [Image via ABC.].....»»

Harvey Weinstein Gives First Interview Since Times Exposé: "They Told Me Lies"

The man behind the controversy speaks. As we reported, on Thursday, The New York Times published a shocking report accusing Harvey Weinstein of "decades of sexual harassment," which has led him to reaching "at least eight settlements with women." Although the movie producer released a statement to the newspaper saying he is "remorseful about the people I [...] The man behind the controversy speaks. As we reported, on Thursday, The New York Times published a shocking report accusing Harvey Weinstein of "decades of sexual harassment," which has led him to reaching "at least eight settlements with women." Although the movie producer released a statement to the newspaper saying he is "remorseful about the people I hurt and I plan to do right by all of them," his lawyer Charles Harder announced plans for a lawsuit against the Times for publishing "a story that is saturated with false and defamatory statements." Related: These Celebs Have Been Accused Of Sexual Misconduct! So why is The Weinstein Company co-founder apologizing for his bad behavior, yet suing the newspaper for calling him out on it? On the same day, Harvey gave an interview to Page Six where he tries clarify the confusion. He said: "What I am saying is that I bear responsibility for my actions, but the reason I am suing is because of the Times' inability to be honest with me, and their reckless reporting. They told me lies. They made assumptions... The Times had a deal with us that they would tell us about the people they had on the record in the story, so we could respond appropriately, but they didn't live up to the bargain... The Times editors were so fearful they were going to be scooped by New York Magazine and they would lose the story, that they went ahead and posted the story filled with reckless reporting, and without checking all they had with me and my team." In fact, he believes the publication is out to make him look bad. "They never wrote about the documentary I did with JAY-Z about Rikers Island, they never write that I raised $50 million for amfAR, nor my work with Robin Hood – instead they focus on trying to bring me down. This is a vendetta, and the next time I see Dean Baquet [the executive editor of the Times] it will be across a courtroom." Weinstein believes the chunk of their story is predicated on a 2014 memo written by employee and sexual harassment accuser Lauren O'Connor. "The Times used that entire memo as the basis of their story, but in reality it was withdrawn two days after it was written, O'Connor withdrew her complaint, and withdrew her claims made in the memo. The document doesn't stand up." As for Ashley Judd, who went on record accusing him of an inappropriate interaction at the Peninsula Beverly Hills: "They spent six months researching this article then they gave us just 24 hours to answer it. They did tell us that Ashley Judd was on record, but we thought it would be along the lines of what she told Variety." In 2015, the actress told Variety she was sexually harassed by an anonymous movie executive. Harvey continues: "But she changed her story when giving it to the Times. I know Ashley Judd is going through a tough time right now, I read her book [her memoir All That Is Bitter and Sweet], in which she talks about being the victim of sexual abuse and depression as a child. Her life story was brutal, and I have to respect her. In a year from now I am going to reach out to her... I never laid a glove on her." In regards to his alleged eight case settlements: "No company ever talks about settlements, and neither does the recipient, so I don't know how the Times came to this conclusion, but it is pure conjecture, the reporters have made assumptions." However, the studio executive sees the error of his ways, and knows he has "to work on my temper." "I have got to change, I've got to grow, I've got to deal with my personality, I've got to work on my temper, I have got to dig deep. I know a lot of people would like me to go into a facility, and I may well just do that – I will go anywhere I can learn more about myself. I want to be able to look at the people I have hurt and say, 'I am sorry, I have changed and I've progressed.' I am terribly embarrassed for my company, my staff and the only person who could fix this is me. I am going to fix myself, I am going to fix how I deal with women and how I deal with my temper and power."' Despite the drama, wife Georgina Chapman is standing by her man. "She stands 100 percent behind me. Georgina and I have talked about this at length. We went out with Lisa Bloom last night when we knew the article was coming out. Georgina will be with Lisa and others kicking my ass to be a better human being and to apologize to people for my bad behavior, to say I'm sorry, and to absolutely mean it." On the flip side, the New York Times refuses to back down to Harvey's legal threats and is "confident in the accuracy" of its reporting. A spokesperson said: "Mr. Weinstein was aware and able to respond to specific allegations in our story before publication. In fact, we published his response in full." What do U think? Barack Obama Seemingly Takes Shots At Donald Trump With Warning About Divisive Social Media Usage!

As we previously reported, back in September, Prince Harry sat down with Barack Obama for a chat about life after the presidency. Although we had to wait awhile, on Wednesday morning, BBC Radio 4's Today finally aired the high-profile interview. Ahead of lightning round questions (which included 44 giving his thoughts on Suits vs. The Good Wife), the ginger royal asked Obama to share his thoughts about Donald Trump's inauguration. Related: Trump Truly Believes He Saved Christmas Being a seasoned politician, the former Commander-In-Chief tactfully danced around naming the Trumpster personally, but did mention that he had some mixed feelings on January 20. Why?? Mainly, he felt somewhat uneasy about Donald's election given "all the work that was still undone" and "concerns about how the country moves forward." After the chaotic year we've had, it seems Barack's concerns were justified. Still, Obama didn't expect the peace of mind he felt once he departed the oval office. In regards to the inauguration, he noted: "But overall there was a serenity there, more than I would have expected." Good answer. Obama seemingly took another shot at Trump when he issued a warning about the toxic nature of social media. Michelle Obama's husband added: "One of the dangers of the internet is that people can have entirely different realities. They can be just cocooned in information that reinforces their current biases." Specifically, Obama criticized how the many online platforms can reinforce prejudicial views. He continued: "The question I think really has to do with how do we harness this technology in a way that allows a multiplicity of voices, allows a diversity of views, but doesn't lead to a balkanization of our society, but rather continues to promote ways of finding common ground… All of us in leadership have to find ways in which we can recreate a common space on the internet. It used to be, in the United states for example, we had three television stations and everybody watched Walter Cronkite or David Brinkley or whoever the chief anchor was. Everybody had a common set of facts, and so there might be conservatives and liberals, but people could generally agree on a baseline of reality." Well said. Can't he just come back?? *WAAAAAAH* Barack went on to address his own reputation that was criticized in the media. Although the press often described him as "dispassionate and professorial and analytical," he relayed that he's actually quite the empathetic person: "I don't think I can do my job well, or that any leader can do their job well if they don't have the capacity to feel deeply for the people they're serving. The great danger that often befalls leaders is that the people they're supposed to be serving become abstractions. If you don't understand that what you do every day has a profound impact on somebody else, then you shouldn't be there." Are you LISTENING, Donald??? Despite still being a prominent political figure in the U.S., Obama is now focusing on "training the next generation of leaders." In fact, he happily described himself as a "coach." Ummm, okay -- we'd pay to see THAT movie. Well, it appears Harry REALLY nailed this guesting editing role for BBC Radio 4, because he got some great answers out of Barack. However, we're a little irked that Prince William's bro didn't confirm whether Barack and Michelle will be invited to his wedding. Meghan Markle's man coyly dished: "I don't know about that, we haven't even put the invite or the guest list together, who knows if he's going to be invited or not... I wouldn't want to ruin that surprise." *Sigh* Regardless, be sure to listen to Harry and Barack's sit down for yourself by clicking HERE! [Image via Euan Cherry/WENN.].....»»
