Katy Perry Feels So Liberated: "Politically, Mentally, Spiritually, Sexually"

Katy Perry looks so seductive on the cover of W magazine’s September 2017 issue! Here’s what the 32-year-old entertainer had to share with the mag: On if her songs make her cry: “My songs are so personal. Sometimes they are about people who are no longer in my life, or they’re about unrequited love. I started out on tour last time and I couldn’t perform a couple of the songs on the record because I was just too upset.” On having short hair now: “Everything is more fun with short hair! I can just get up and go. I feel so liberated with this hair now. In general, I feel 360-degrees liberated—all around. Whether it’s politically, mentally, spiritually, sexually. I feel liberated from all the things that don’t serve me. I’m surrendering and embracing my 30s. You couldn’t give me anything to go back to my 20s. To get to this place, I had to do some much-needed work on my heart, soul, mind, and body. Since doing that, a lot of beautiful things started to bloom again.” On if she sings her songs in the shower: “No. I make up songs. Or I go, “I like to move it move it.” I’ve had several sing-offs with boyfriends. That’s very fun—singing in the shower and scrubbing!” For more from Katy, visit Wmagazine.com......»»

Katy Perry "Feels Very Free" On The Cover Of W Magazine!

Katy Perry is living her best life! Between kicking off her Witness world tour and being one of the highest paid judges (ever) on the upcoming season of American Idol, the 32-year-old singer admits to feeling "very free." Between kicking off her Witness world tour and being one of the highest paid judges (ever) on the upcoming season of American Idol, the 32-year-old singer admits to feeling "very free." The Swish Swish songstress sat down with Lynn Hirschberg for W Magazine's September cover, where she opened up about a bevy of topics ranging from Hillary Clinton's electoral loss, crying to her own songs, and singing in the shower with her exes! Related: Katy's Relationship Advice -- Don't Text Your Ex! While the outcome of the election was tough to say the least, Katy said it's important to keep moving forward: "I'm not still upset about the election. I think it's more important to continue the fight." And her new job on the singing competition show gives her greater access to be a role model for young girls: "I got paid pretty much more than any guy that's been on that show. Teenage girls can save the world! I saw that during the campaign. And that idea continues to give me faith." When asked where she gets her best ideas for songs, Katy shared: "I get them in three different ways. From Transcendental Meditation, where I rest and kind of restart my mind. Or during a massage. Or showering. I always have my phone on standby when I hop out of the shower." And it sounds like other fun activities happen in the shower, too, as the artist admitted: "I make up songs. Or I go, 'I like to move it, move it.' I've had several sing-offs with boyfriends. That's very fun—singing in the shower and scrubbing!" Ooh la la. One thing that's been extremely liberating for the California native is her short pixie haircut: "Everything is more fun with short hair! I can just get up and go. I feel so liberated with this hair now. In general, I feel 360-degrees liberated—all around. Whether it's politically, mentally, spiritually, sexually. I feel liberated from all the things that don't serve me. I'm surrendering and embracing my 30s. You couldn't give me anything to go back to my 20s. To get to this place, I had to do some much-needed work on my heart, soul, mind, and body. Since doing that, a lot of beautiful things started to bloom again." After Hirschberg asked if Katy ever cried while listening to her own music, the celeb noted: "I have. My songs are so personal. Sometimes they are about people who are no longer in my life, or they're about unrequited love. I started out on tour last time and I couldn't perform a couple of the songs on the record because I was just too upset." On her first kiss, Perry revealed it wasn't the most romantic scenario: "My first French kiss was in sixth grade in Big Bear, California. I was hanging out with this girl from church who had a bit of a reputation. She had a coed party, and I was not allowed to go to a coed party until eighth grade. But I went anyway. At the party, we played spin the bottle. It got to be my turn, and I spun the bottle, and, all of a sudden, I felt like there was a wet fish in my mouth. That was my first kiss. When you're in sixth grade, there's no art to French kissing. There's no cadence, no beautiful up and down, no waves. Instead, it just feels like your mouth is getting invaded by a slug." Ha, sounds about right! For the full interview, click HERE. [Image via W Magazine.].....»»

Blake Lively Reveals Why She Loves Ryan Reynolds "Most of the Time"

Blake Lively looks so sultry and summer-ready on the cover of Glamour magazine’s September 2017 issue, on newsstands August 8. Here’s what the 29-year-old actress had to share with the mag: On her and Ryan Reynolds being conscious of the language they use around their daughters: “But with my husband, I’m lucky to have someone [...] Blake Lively looks so sultry and summer-ready on the cover of Glamour magazine’s September 2017 issue, on newsstands August 8. Here’s what the 29-year-old actress had to share with the mag: On her and Ryan Reynolds being conscious of the language they use around their daughters: “But with my husband, I’m lucky to have someone who is so conscious. My husband was like, ‘Why do I always say he?’ And I said, ‘That’s what we’re taught.’ So he’ll pick up, like a caterpillar, and instead of saying, ‘What’s his name?’ he’ll say, ‘What’s her name?’ Or we’ve joked that my daughter is bossy. But my husband said, ‘I don’t ever want to use that word again. You’ve never heard a man called bossy.’ …. There would never be any negative connotation for a man being a boss, so to add a negative connotation on a woman being bossy? It’s belittling. And it doesn’t encourage them to be a boss. So do I know how to be the best parent for a daughter? No, I have no idea. All I can do is share what I’m thinking—and learn from others.” On people thinking her life is perfect: “It’s nonsense. It simplifies people. Not all men, but a subsection of men have a desire to understand and control women. To do that, you have to paint them into this thing you can wrap your head around. But women are complex. It also is [a reminder] that what you see in the media is not real life. The night before an interview, I have complete anxiety: How is this person going to spin me? So when you read, ‘Oh, she’s got a perfect life,’ or ‘Her life is crumbling’—they pick narratives for everyone. And the narratives stick.” On Ryan’s hilarious tweets about their kids: “[Laughs.] He may as well work for the Enquirer. When he says ‘my daughter,’ he’s never, ever talking about her. Everything is a completely made-up scenario. He’ll run them by me sometimes just to make me laugh. But oh, I’m so in love with him when he writes that stuff. I mean, I’m in love with him most of the time, but especially with that.” FYI: Read some of Ryan’s amazing tweets about being a dad here! On why she says she loves Ryan ‘most of the time’: “I said, ‘Most of the time,’ because if I say, ‘I’m so in love with him all the time,’ then you get that eye-rolling, ‘Oh, her life is so great, she’s so perfect.’ So it’s, like, my defense mechanism.” For more from Blake, visit Glamour.com. Willa Ford Claims Her Music Career Lost Steam Because Of 9/11

In honor of TBT, we bring to you a brand new Billboard interview with the I Wanna Be Bad sensation -- and it is truly fascinating! First of all, where you been, bb??? The 36-year-old left her singing career behind (more on that in a second) back in 2001 and now runs her own interior design company and is married (for the second time) to a man named Ryan Nece, with whom she shares a son, Elijah. What's more... While chatting about where she is now and why her music career fizzled out, Willa seems to be open to the idea of making a comeback! Related: Shania Twain Will Inspire Your Whole Damn Existence When asked about what went wrong the first time around, Willa theorized: "That's the question I get on the daily, literally. It was the perfect storm. A lot of people don't realize this, but my second single was released on September 11, 2001. Everything that happened that day froze; the world stood still, as it should have. My second single didn't do well because anything that launched that day kind of got canned. I know that sounds silly, but on radio they slate things, but it really fell to the wayside. I didn't think it was a big deal because we were making a new album anyway. The record company I was with at the time got acquired by another record company, and the president of our record company left the company." From there, the songstress didn't really know what to do: "So, I ended up in no man's land. At that time, my sister had a baby, and I felt like this pop machine had taken me and put me in the wash cycle and I had been spinning out of control. I wanted some time to refocus myself. I started re-evaluating what I was doing. I was a classical opera singer with musical theory -- a real, legit musician. I loved what I was doing -- I wrote the songs, but I felt like the authenticity wasn't there. I knew that it wasn't going to have the staying power that I wanted it to have. I really took a step back because I felt like I wasn't doing what I was supposed to be doing at the time. I know that sounds crazy, but it was the perfect storm, and I walked away. It's really hard when you walk away to go back to it." We think this is a good time to point out that other artists like Mariah Carey (Glitter), Bob Dylan (Love & Theft), Ben Folds (Rockin' The Suburb), JAY-Z (The Blueprint), and Nickelback (Silver Side Up) also released full-length albums on the same day as the national tragedy. So what did we miss from that album that never saw the light of day? Willa explained: "It was raunchy, but there were some songs that were really cool. There was a song called 'Sexy Sex Obsessive,' which sounds funny out loud, but it was pretty striking at the time, and there was a song called 'Who I Am,' which got secretly released in Europe... It was as if pop met Nine Inch Nails." Interesting... But don't let her successful career designing high-end homes get your hopes up -- Miz Ford hopes to hit the road and tour the gay club circuit! She told the outlet: "If the [new] music did well, I'd love to hit the gay club circuit because it would be so empowering and fun every night. I used to say I didn't want to have a family on the road, I think it's about having the right family on the road. I think it would be a blast with my husband and child. I miss being on the road more than any of it." Stay tuned alert!.....»»

The group – comprised of brothers Adam, Jack and Ryan Met – have been playing music together since they were kids. Just Jared exclusively sat down with the group while they celebrated their new album at the Grammy Museum in Los Angeles. The band opened up about life on the road, their favorite musicians and what’s coming next. Here’s what AJR had to say: Give us the scoop on the new album: Adam: “We worked on this album for two years because we had a very specific intention behind the album. We wanted to write about real issues in a way people hadn’t thought about. So each of the songs has a kind of ‘I can relate to that but I hadn’t really thought about it in that way’ moment. Like there are so many songs on the radio about being strong and confident but our single ‘Weak’ takes a different approach, saying, ‘We’re weak and what’s wrong with that?’” Click inside to read the rest of the interview…. What are your tour bus essentials? Jack: “This tour is our first time on a tour bus! We have a Wii. We didn’t grow up with video games so when we got old enough we bought our own Wii and we’re obsessed with playing Mario Kart. It’s what we do all day. And food? String cheese. We need it at all times. Wii and string cheese.” What places are you most excited to stop on tour? Ryan: “It’s always interesting to see what markets get the most hype. For some reason, Salt Lake City, everyone really goes crazy. Indianapolis too! And Portland too, because that’s a great music town.” What else are you passionate about? Ryan: “We’re really into film and we direct a lot of our own videos and all of our behind-the-scenes videos. We’re actually at Columbia University right now to study film because that’s also something we want to do someday.” Who are some artists you’re into right now? Jack: “We just tweeted about this guy! His name is Michael Blume. He’s super unknown and he’s just coming up now but we like to find artists with a similar sound to us. Those are the artists we get attached to and he has a great sound. We also brought this girl name Samia on tour with us…she sings a lot of the female vocals on our songs. She’s an unbelievable singer/songwriter.” What’s next now that the album has dropped? Ryan: “What’s so cool is that as our album is getting big, it allows for a lot of collaborations. Our album isn’t really in a certain lane – you wouldn’t call it pop or rock or alternative…so we have a lot of different collaborations and people in different lanes reaching out to us…We have a bunch of EDM collaborations and a hip hop collaboration coming out!”.....»»

Anyone who interviews her not only can’t photograph her from anything but her left side, but there’s also a list of topics she won’t talk about, like her grandfather’s recent death and all those Mariah Carey comparisons. But hey, just because she throws diva tantrums and won’t let you talk about how she’s compared to Mariah doesn’t mean she doesn’t just totally love those comparisons!!!! From US Weekly: “Mariah has been a huge influence on me since I was a little girl,” the new Wat-Aah! water bottle spokeswoman exclusively tells Us Weekly. “I’ve even done a cover of one of her songs. I don’t think there are any negatives to being compared to one of the greatest vocalists of all time. It’s honestly a great honor.” Nope, sorry, not buying it. Obviously you wouldn’t want the comparison to take over your career or what you’re trying to do now, but you wouldn’t outlaw it as an interview question if you were so down-to-earth and loving it. You would confront the question and say that you’re honoured, but you also want to follow your own artistic path and hope that you can grow beyond that. Let’s all just be real with each other for five seconds – Ariana Grande is no Mariah Carey and never will be. Yeah, she can sing, but she wastes it on shitty collaborations and can’t stand on her own. Seriously, the solo songs on her album are a total disaster. Mariah was solo 100% and killed it every single time. In fact, her rare duets were some of the worst songs she did (not you, ‘One Sweet Day’ – never you), so she can just sit down now. Here’s what the 35-year-old actress had to share: On meeting Hayden Christensen: “I met Hayden [Christensen] during Jumper. That was an amazing experience. It was the most precious time. We were shooting in Italy and inside the Coliseum…The role was fulfilling, but also everything was fulfilling as a life experience, it was one of the best times. I think anytime you’re on location you feel like you’re away at summer camp in a way. You’re more open and receptive to life experiences than you are at home.” On how working affects her daughter Briar Rose: “Its not about traveling, she’s already a pro on an airplane. She’ll say “It’s time to put up my tray!’’ It’s the actual time that the work takes that affects my choices now.” On her future: I may have another child, thats still up in the air.  I’m having so much fun with the one right now. I want to be happy and content. All the life BS that happens doesn’t matter. You want to be happy, you want your kid to be happy and you want everyone in your life to be healthy and happy.’ For more from Rachel, visit Lapalmemagazine.com. FYI: Rachel is wearing Reem Acra on the cover. The 10 Most Beautiful Chinese Women

China’s culture and America’s culture are about as far removed from each other as it’s possible to be. Yet, both nations have at least one thing in common – beautiful women. In fact, it’s fair to say that there are a huge number of Chinese hotties but that they rarely get the media attention they deserve in the United States because they star in Chinese films, music, etc. So with that in mind we bring you the 10 most beautiful Chinese women of all time: Fan Bingbing Fan’s gone from being a local celebrity to a global superstar. It was her appearance in the Chinese movie “Lost in Beijing” that brought her some international attention and while the film wasn’t a critical or box office success it brought her offers to star in Iron Man 3, the X-men series and many other films. She has been in the Forbes list of top 100 Chinese celebrities for more than a decade and has never been outside of the Top 10 since 2006. She is also one of the highest paid celebrities in the world so if you can get a date with her – life would be truly golden. Liu Yifei Bridging the international divide is Liu Yifei who is a Chinese-American actress and who began her career in the Chinese TV series “The Story of a Noble Family” but it was her role in the “The Forbidden Kingdom” which brought her first big hit. She’s not just an actress though but also a huge star in the Chinese pop scene and she’s also definitely one of the most attractive women in the Chinese world. Zhang Ziyi Possibly the best known of all the Chinese beauties on our list; Zhang Ziyi was considered to be one of the “10 most beautiful women in Asia” as ranked by FHM magazine. She’s also one a ton of awards for her acting in the global smash hit movie; “Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon”. Since then she’s starred in the sequel “House of Flying Daggers” as well as Rush Hour 2, Sophie’s Revenge and The Crossing Part 1 among a bunch of other hit movies. She was also considered to be one of the 100 most influential people in the world at one point. Xu Jinglei Xu Jinglei, by contrast with our first three list members, is nearly unknown outside of China where she’s one of the most popular actresses of all time. She’s won so many awards from the Chinese film and TV industry that we think she might have had to build a new house just to store them all. We’re guessing it’s a lack of English language skills that are holding her back in the international film arena given that she is smoking hot. Bianca Bai If you’d like to cast your eyes away from the mainland and across the strait into Taiwan you’ll find the home of Bianca Bai. Bianca started her career young and was a famous model before she’d even finished school. Then she moved into acting and has been [...].....»»
