PBS Wants A Piece Of MeToo Action

Objectifying women is only wrong when men do it. Objectifying women is only wrong when men do it. Throwing advertisements on the side of the MeToo victim train is completely fine if you’re a corporation cutting a check and not an individual member of the evil penis wielding patriarchy. MeToo has everyone’s attention at the moment and where there are focused eyes there is money to be made. PBS’s version of MeToo is more focused on monetary gains than actually empowering women who blew the whistle after they realized they were down on the scoreboard. Late calls in the cash grab game are allowed now because women are changing the rules. The show PBS wants the world to see is a five-part series that VICE could cover on YouTube in 45 minutes tops. But VICE has a habit of employing straight white males. If a journalist like Thomas Morton covered MeToo it would be considered a conflict of interest to every woman watching. PBS announced on Tuesday that it will air a five-part series about the #MeToo moment. The series, #MeToo, Now What?, is scheduled to debut on February 2. Between E!’s MeToo show and now PBS joining the party I wonder when the MeToo merch will get green-lit for screen printing. Women wearing the shirts will make it easier overall to identify who’s not DTF with NSA. There’s no way any chick with a MeToo halter top on is letting you get near her milk makers without a six month wait-time just to consensually see some slight under-boob. And that’s if you’re lucky. On the bright side, it saves men time and money. Dodging a date night with a feminazi is always a win. Until then grab the popcorn and prepare for more televised attacks. Elisabeth Moss Kinda Sorta Maybe #MeToo-ed A Little

How does the song go – When you wish upon a #MeToo, makes no difference if you were actually #MeToo-ed. Ya I think that’s right, at least if you’re Elisabeth Moss, who opens up to Marie Claire about how anyone can be #MeToo-ed if they close their eyes and wish hard enough. Getting brainwashed by Scientology really takes its toll on a gal’s social life, and apparently Moss – prior to digging deep – was never officially sexually assaulted: I have been fortunate not to have experienced some of the terrible things that so many women have talked about. But, when MeToo and Time’sUp really hit, I would talk to my girlfriends, and we all stepped back and looked at every encounter we’d ever had, and went, wait… was that OK? We’ve been conditioned to think it’s OK, and that’s the wake-up moment that we are having. Moss assaulted me with her hook nose, but you don’t hear me declaring myself a survivor. As I always say, I think watering down what it means to be assaulted to the point that Elisabeth Moss is telling us all to basically make shit up just to participate in a hashtag isn’t doing actual survivors of rape any favors. It’s like if you told people that you had cancer and the person next to you told people that they had a zit and you both got the same attention. The cancer should probably be examined. The zit – which I guess in this abysmal late-in-the-day metaphor is Elisabeth Moss – can go join a cult and star on a boring Hulu show.   Photo Credit: Pacific Coast News / Splash News The post Elisabeth Moss Kinda Sorta Maybe #MeToo-ed A Little appeared first on WWTDD - What Would Tyler Durden Do?......»»

Steph Curry Thinks Colin Kaepernick Should"ve Been "Front And Center" On Sports Illustrated"s Panned "Sports United" Cover!

You don't have to tell Stephen Curry who's missing in the latest Sports Illustrated cover. The Golden State Warriors point guard was displayed front and center on the mag's "Sports United" issue, which features 10 sports figures linking arms in a digitally-created cover. The cover, which showed Curry arm-in-arm with LeBron James and NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell, comes a week after the NBA star had his invitation to the White House rescinded by Donald Trump. Video: This Former NFL Player Has The Voice Of An Angel! But if you ask Curry, SI made a huge mistake by omitting one athlete from the group: former 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick, who kicked off the National Anthem protest last year way before it became a nationwide issue. Echoing the sentiments of social media, Curry finds it "terrible" that the mag didn't feature the OG kneeler in an issue that's supposedly all about social justice in sports. In an interview recorded by ESPN NBA reporter Chris Haynes, Curry said: "That was terrible. It's just kind of capitalizing on the hoopla and the media and all that nonsense. The real people that understand exactly what's been going on, and who's really been active and vocal and truly making a difference, if you don't have Kaepernick front and center on that, something's wrong." The two-time NBA champ went on to say that publications shouldn't be changing up the narratives of historic movements just to sell more magazines: "It's about the true message and really highlighting the people that are doing the right thing." If you're gonna exploit this drama, at least exploit the right people! Watch the clip (below) to see what Steph had to say. Celebs Of The #MeToo Movement Defend Asia Argento Against Disgusting Claims She Caused Anthony Bourdain"s Suicide

We are all sad and confused about the loss of Anthony Bourdain. But some fans are taking it out on the wrong person. Someone who is already in a great deal of pain. Asia Argento was the focus of a great deal of ire among the dregs of toxic masculinity even before her boyfriend's death, for her [...] We are all sad and confused about the loss of Anthony Bourdain. But some fans are taking it out on the wrong person. Someone who is already in a great deal of pain. Asia Argento was the focus of a great deal of ire among the dregs of toxic masculinity even before her boyfriend's death, for her outspoken role as part of the #MeToo movement, and getting Bourdain involved in it as well. Related: Bourdain's 11-Year-Old Daughter Will Inherit Most Of His Estate Now she's being blamed by those "internet trolls" for his suicide as well, and the movement has her back. An open letter obtained by The Wrap and signed by Terry Crews, Olivia Munn, Rose McGowan, and 42 more famous faces of #MeToo, demands Asia be left to grieve in peace: "Asia has now found herself on the receiving end of vicious cyberbullying and repulsive slander at the hands of internet trolls who hold her responsible for Anthony's death. She has been accused of everything from causing her boyfriend's suicide to trying to use her 'survivor status' and the #MeToo movement to advance her career." Speaking directly to those supposed fans, the stars write: "We are here to ask those who are angry and grieving the loss of Anthony to find a healthy outlet for their pain. Asia is a survivor, just as we are, and her fame and outward show of strength does not make her any less vulnerable. Asia is not a headline — she is a human being, and she is in horrific pain. There has long been a traditional narrative of blaming, vilifying and martyring courageous women. We reject that narrative." Read the entire lengthy letter (below): On June 8, we lost a rare, great man. Anthony Bourdain was a lightning rod of cultural connectivity. He brought disparate, marginalized people together and made the unknown accessible — some of the many gifts that made Anthony such a valuable presence in our collective lives, whether we knew him or not. An unwavering supporter of women and the #MeToo movement, Bourdain's loss was a tragedy on so many levels, to so many people who saw him as a beacon of a new way of being. We share that grief and deepest sadness for his family and those closest to him whose pain must be unimaginable. One of the most vocal and unwavering figures in the #MeToo movement has been Asia Argento. At the center of our community, Asia has stood, her fist in the air, fighting daily not just for justice for those of us she has come to know, but for abused people the world over. Asia has now found herself on the receiving end of vicious cyberbullying and repulsive slander at the hands of internet trolls who hold her responsible for Anthony's death. She has been accused of everything from causing her boyfriend's suicide to trying to use her "survivor status" and the #MeToo movement to advance her career. There has long been a traditional narrative of blaming, vilifying and martyring courageous women. We reject that narrative. If there is one thing we know with unwavering confidence, "sexual violence victim" is not a title anyone wants attached to themselves. Being known as a sexual assault victim isn't a badge of honor or career booster; it's a highly difficult, sometimes traumatizing and humiliating experience. All of us who have taken the risk of coming forward — and it is truly a risk to us, our reputations, relationships and mental health — have faced harsh criticism and often outright anger and hatred online, in our respective communities and, for some, within our own families. Yet we come forward in the hope that we can change things for others and end the sexual violence and abuse that has flourished with impunity for millennia. We are here to ask those who are angry and grieving the loss of Anthony to find a healthy outlet for their pain. Asia is a survivor, just as we are, and her fame and outward show of strength does not make her any less vulnerable. Asia is not a headline — she is a human being, and she is in horrific pain. We are proud to stand together as silence-breakers. We are so grateful for the foresight and compassion of #MeToo founder Tarana Burke and every member of the community of survivors whose pain deserves equal attention. We are indebted to and linked with every person who has come forward to report their own experiences with sexual harassment, abuse and rape. We are proud of the courage of each and every person who has decided to speak their truth, just as we support those who do not wish to speak. We are proud of the work that is being done, but we are not finished; we have only just begun. We understand sexual harassment and assault are global epidemics. Our request for Asia is a request for any and all survivors. Our standing up for her is standing up to any and all bullies. We implore you to be kind to each other, to believe survivors, to stand up for survivors, to encourage, support and sympathize with them. We ask you to stand with us, as we stand with Asia.
