James Cameron Praises "Brave" Eliza Dushku for Coming Forward with Sexual Assault Allegations

James Cameron is breaking his silence on Eliza Dushku‘s claims that True Lies stunt coordinator Joel Kramer sexually assaulted her when she was 12-years-old. While attending the 2018 Winter Television Critics Association Press Tour on Saturday (January 13), the 63-year-old director and writer of True Lies called the 37-year-old actress “brave” for coming forward with her story. “I haven’t given a lot of thought to this specific situation because I just heard about. Obviously, Eliza is very brave for speaking up,” James said. “I think all the women are that are speaking up and calling for a reckoning now. I think this has been endemic throughout human systems, not just Hollywood.” Earlier today, Eliza shared an open letter, recounting how Joel molested her on set of the 1994 movie. Joel recently slammed the allegations, calling them “atrocious lies.” “But had I known about it, there would’ve been no mercy,” James continued. “Now, especially that I have daughters, there’s really no mercy.” Read James Cameron’s comments in full inside… “I just heard about it. I haven’t given a lot of thought to the specific situation today — I just heard about it, but obviously Eliza is very brave for speaking up. I think all the women are that are speaking up and calling for a reckoning now. I think this has been endemic throughout human systems, not just Hollywood, but because Hollywood deals with— women who were victims 10, 15, 20 years ago are famous today, so they get to have a louder voice when they come forward, so bravo for them for doing it. And I’m glad Eliza did that. “It’s just heartbreaking that it happened to her. I know the other party — not well, he hasn’t worked for me since then. The fact that this was happening under our noses and we didn’t know about it, going forward, it’s important for all industries, certainly Hollywood, to create a safe avenue for people to speak up, that they feel safe, and that anybody who might be a predator or an abuser knows that that mechanism is there, that it’s encouraged, and that there’s no shame around it, and that there will be consequences. I think we all collectively, just as the human race, have to do that. I don’t think this is a Hollywood problem. I think that Hollywood is in the unique position of actually shining a spotlight on it, as Hollywood has historically done on a lot of social issues. It’s kind of one of the things we do and do well. “This is a great moment in history, unfortunately it’s founded on personal tragedy for so many of these women. This is not a reckoning for Hollywood, this is not a reckoning for America, this is a reckoning for the human race. This shit has been going on since Day 1. So whenever there’s a male in a position of power, and he’s got a piece missing and doesn’t understand the consequences of what he’s doing — and maybe out of this can come some education that can pull some man who would otherwise go down that path back from the brink as well. Because I think a lot of it has to come from some kind of lack of empathy, they’re clearly not feeling what this is going to mean for this person further down the line. Hopefully we’ll be making films about this stuff and we’ll put something in place as industry practice to do it as much as we can to prevent it. Because this is happening right now. Directors are historically pretty oblivious to the interpersonal things that are happening on their set, because they are just focused — and I’m probably one of the worst offenders of that, being focused on what I’m doing creatively. But had I known about it, there would’ve been no mercy. Now, especially that I have daughters, there’s really no mercy,” James said via EW.com......»»

The 47-year-old entertainer sang “Vision of Love” and “Hero” live in the middle of Times Square and in between the songs, she jokingly called the performance a disaster after her tea was displaced. Mariah still sounded great and was definitely singing live throughout the performance, despite it feeling like below zero degrees with the wind chill in New York City. People on Twitter are saying that if Mariah can sing in the cold without her hot tea, then we can make it through 2018! Read below to see how Twitter reacted to the performance! If Mariah Carey can make it through that performance without her hot tea, then I can make it through another year — jaden (@jadenalana) January 1, 2018 Mariah Carey proved for the billionth time why she’s one of the greatest voices to ever touch a mic. “Mariah Carey can’t sing anymore” jokes are null and void and will be left in 2017 pic.twitter.com/RXiCs5HYjz — reggie (@1942bs) January 1, 2018 Click inside to read a lot more tweets… on my second bottle of champagne and okay if mariah carey can rough it without her hot tea then I can get through another year of this bullshit — sometimes (@daftpunkplaying) January 1, 2018 brb took a break from the bar just to say mariah is doing great + looks amazing. if you disagree your mattress is on the floor + you need to get some rest before that 9-5 tomorrow. those mcgriddles won’t defrost themselves. — ‏ً (@sexpulp) January 1, 2018 Petition to make Mariah Carey asking for hot tea the first meme of 2018 — Brianna (@bri_rutledge) January 1, 2018 If Mariah Carey’s performance is an indicator of how 2018 is going to be, it’s going to be rough around the edges, slightly pained, but ultimately better than last year. — C. Happy New Year, and may 2018 be great for everybody! — Paul Palumbo (@paulumbo) January 1, 2018 Mariah done did it in -7° weather! She’s still the legend she’s always been! I pray to God you never have to experience anything like that man did.” Read all of the tweets below. Dear @LoganPaul, How dare you! You disgust me. I can't believe that so many young people look up to you. So sad. Hopefully this latest video woke them up. You are pure trash. Plain and simple. Suicide is not a joke. Go rot in hell. Are you kidding me???????????????????? — Calvin (@calvinstowell) January 2, 2018 Just remember this. Before all the extended community outrage against Logan Paul’s “we found a dead body” video, there was a seemingly uncontested 550-600,000 likes on it. His core audience doesn’t give a fuuuuuuck. Unless youtube does something, this doesn’t hurt him. — Philip DeFranco (@PhillyD) January 2, 2018 Logan Paul is an amoral piece of shit who could not be less deserving of his platform. Fuck. Rose McGowan is one woman that will not be silenced when it comes to sexual harassment. Sure she has accepted a settlement from Weinstein in the past but now she’s turning her sexual harassment hardships into an E! TV sympathy seeking special. The document will complement her soon-to-release memoir entitled BRAVE. This double whammy will definitely destroy the misogynistic Hollywood we have all come to know and love. But if it doesn’t I’m pretty sure Rose will be able to cash a nice check. Being a victim is more valuable than Bitcoin at the moment. “You are formally invited into my mind and world. I am thrilled to partner with E! to amplify my message of bravery, art, joy and survival,” McGowan said in a statement today. “As I ready my book, BRAVE, I realized I wanted to show how we can heal through art even when being hounded by evil. I want to have a conversation with everyone, and most especially, you, about looking at things differently and seeing beauty everywhere. E!’s tremendous reach and impressive platform allow me to globally communicate the importance of living a BRAVE life.” McGowan is battling sexual harassment after accepting money to stay quiet. That isn’t being courageous, that’s being an opportunist. Rose really wants to be the face of the victimhood franchise at any cost. Her dignity was sold way above value at $100,000 and quitting while you’re ahead isn’t something she’s familiar with. She’s already begun to attack other victims for their lack of dedication to being constantly oppressed. She believes peaceful black dress protests are for pansies. She’s writing the rules for women on how to handle harassment. Just don’t think for a minute her actions are altruistic at all, if you want to find out the rules they’re $14.99 plus tax on Google Play Books and the E! documentary will require a cable subscription. Related: All 45 Women Who Have Accused Harvey Weinstein So Far In fact, Carlson openly admitted that she showed her 12 and 14 year old the Trumpster's infamous Access Hollywood tape. She explained: "When the Access Hollywood tape came out with now-President Trump, I played it for my children... I wanted them to see how not to treat human beings. I wanted then to know that human decency, in my mind, supersedes any political policy." As it should!! In case you forgot, in footage from an Access Hollywood taping in 2005, the President is heard bragging about how felt entitled to "grab" women "by the pussy." We aren't shocked that Gretchen made a point to show the tape to her kids as she became the face of the anti-sexual harassment movement following her 2016 lawsuit against Fox News chief Roger Ailes. The suit resulted in Ailes' ousting from the conservative network. In regards to her own experiences with sexual harassment, Gretchen had a few choice words for Human Resources departments everywhere: "I actually believe reporting sexual harassment should go to a different part of the company. If the harasser is a boss then just forget it. You, as the employee, have no chance." Fair point. The 51-year-old went on to reference two additional instances of sexual assault, both experienced while she was serving as Miss America in 1989. On why she declined to name the individuals involved, the author noted: "It doesn't really matter... Maybe at some point I'll decide to make them [public]. It's actually a legal issue about why I wouldn't and I've had my fair share of lawyer advice over the last 15 months. So it's not because I'm not speaking up about it, it's more of a concern from a legal point of view." That all makes sense! On Wednesday, the journalist stopped by CBS This Morning to discuss her former co-anchor Matt Lauer, the #MeToo movement, and her new PBS show We'll Meet Again. Related: Ann Curry 'Isn't Relishing' In Matt Lauer's Scandal On Tuesday, the 61-year-old opened up to People about her infamous 2012 exit from Today, which she says, "hurt like hell." Reportedly, she was axed due to her lack of chemistry with Lauer, who was eventually fired from NBC News in November 2017 for allegations of "inappropriate sexual behavior." In her first TV interview since leaving NBC in 2015, she told CBS that she was not "surprised by the allegations" against Lauer. In regards to the recent firings of Lauer and Charlie Rose, Ann noted: "We clearly are waking up to a reality and injustice that has been occurring for sometime. I think it will continue to occur until the glass ceiling is finally broken." Snap! Snap! When further pressed by Gayle King to address specific accusations she may've heard, Curry side stepped from answering in order to avoid hurting those involved. Curry added: "I'm trying not to hurt people. I know what it's like to be publicly humiliated, I never did anything wrong to be publicly humiliated, and I don't want to cause that kind of pain to someone else. But I can say, because you're asking me a very direct question... I can say that, I'd be surprised if many women did not understand that there was a climate of verbal harassment that existed. I think it'd be surprising if someone said they didn't see that." .@AnnCurry says she is "not surprised" about the allegations against former "TODAY" co-host Matt Lauer. #AnnCurryThisMorning pic.twitter.com/2nPl3By1tS — CBS This Morning ❄️ (@CBSThisMorning) January 17, 2018 Hmmm, sounds like someone is taking shots at her former Today peers. Regardless, Ann is vehement that she's no longer salty about her ousting from the Today show. She continued: "I don't know what was all behind it. I do know that it hurt like hell. It wasn't a fun moment. I've learned a great deal about myself. I've really, at this point, let it go." "I don’t know what was all behind it. I do know that it hurt like hell. It wasn’t a fun moment. Ann further addressed sexual harassment in the workplace, which has fueled the revolutionary #MeToo and Time's Up movements, as she revealed: "I don't know a single woman who has not endured some form of sexual harassment and many women have endured workplace sexual harassment. It's happened to me in multiple jobs. It is a way of sidelining women." The industry vet applauded: "The idea that women are involved speaking to women is actually an overdue idea. So absolutely, I think it's a good idea." We concur. Chrissy Teigen Defends Her Logan Paul Tweets After iJustine Criticizes Them

It all started when Justine called out one of Chrissy‘s tweets, which she thought defended Logan‘s actions in the video. Chrissy, who has been private on Twitter for quite some time so that haters who aren’t fans cannot see her tweets, had to turn off her privacy wall after Justine‘s fans started to attack her. This is because they weren’t able to see the rest of the tweets, which added more context to the tweet in question. Chrissy pointed out her other tweets to Justine and told her to read further. Read all of their interactions below and make sure to read Chrissy‘s original tweets on the video in our other post. UPDATE: Justine deleted the original tweet, but you can still read the text below. ??!! @chrissyteigen Imagine your daughter in 6 years watching that video on her own. His fans are extremely young and it’s very upsetting that you’re standing up at all for it. Mistakes are excused but this isn’t one. It was intentional for views. Please reconsider 😞 — Justine Ezarik 🎉 (@ijustine) January 2, 2018 You are doing an extreme disservice to your large by posting this tweet without the context of the 50 around it. And I am private so they can’t check for themselves. — christine teigen (@chrissyteigen) January 2, 2018 Click inside to check out the rest of the tweets… Now I have to go unprivate for the mob you’ve sent to me with your out of context tweeting. So they can see what I said. See the issue here? — christine teigen (@chrissyteigen) January 2, 2018 Large following* — christine teigen (@chrissyteigen) January 2, 2018 I unfollowed her. I really loved and respected her so much but I’m actually crushed to think of her kids ever being subjected to what I watched in that video — Justine Ezarik 🎉 (@ijustine) January 2, 2018 I do!! I had been following you for so long which is why I was so crushed to read your tweets and didn’t even realize you were private until I unfollowed. I’m sorry, this just hits very close to home for my audience, community and friends. — Justine Ezarik 🎉 (@ijustine) January 2, 2018 This was what I was originally responding to. Did you watch the full video from beginning to end? It’s hard to imagine comparing a clothing company to 6 million people (mostly kids) who just saw their first dead body hanging from a tree while their role models laughs at it pic.twitter.com/n9708Pjbdm — Justine Ezarik 🎉 (@ijustine) January 2, 2018 it's not a comparison because I am making a larger point about society. I am not comparing which one is worse. I'm talking about a large societal trend. — christine teigen (@chrissyteigen) January 2, 2018 what a lot of people are seeing is this is a huge misunderstanding coming from choosing to read and share only 1 or 2 of 50 tweets. honestly my fault for even trying to hold conversation on a platform not meant for it. — christine teigen (@chrissyteigen) January 2, 2018 I also read all of your follow up tweets and I’m glad you aren’t supportive. This original tweet I feel wasn’t 100% clear and I just hope that no one else will get the wrong message. I’m pretty distraught after watched it all 😞 — Justine Ezarik 🎉 (@ijustine) January 2, 2018 thank you, really. it is horrible. — christine teigen (@chrissyteigen) January 2, 2018 I agree. It’s actually impossible to even have a conversation because of the fragmentation of out of context tweets. Twitter needs to do better and YouTube needs to figure out how to not put their community and in this position. — Justine Ezarik 🎉 (@ijustine) January 2, 2018 I’ll delete my original tweet. It wasn’t my intention to fight with you! Having watched his video twice yesterday b4 saying anything publicly is something I’ll never be able to unsee. It’s been triggering for so many who have experienced similar tragic loss in their lives ❤️ — Justine Ezarik 🎉 (@ijustine) January 2, 2018 I was only passionate about engaging/conversing with her because I respect her and many other people do! important to be able to talk things out to reach an understanding. not everyone looks at things with the same eyes as anyone else and that is ok. xx — christine teigen (@chrissyteigen) January 2, 2018.....»»

Jamie Lee Curtis SLAMS Donna Karan & "Brutish Thug" Harvey Weinstein While Talking About Being Sexually Harassed At Work

With more and more celebs sharing their own horrifying experiences with the controversial producer, it's opening up a very overdue discussion in the industry. And Jamie Lee Curtis is doing so by slamming the argument that women are "asking for it," one Donna Karan recently given voice once again in defense of the movie mogul. Related: Kate Beckinsale Accuses Harvey Of Hitting On Her When She Was 17 The designer has since apologized, but the actress isn't here for it! In an op-ed piece published on Huffington Post, the star explained her disappointment with Donna -- all without naming her name: "I awoke to a statement, from an unlikely voice, that the women in question were perhaps 'asking for it.' Really? Is this how we have evolved? Is this what the women's movement, feminism and, more recently, the women's march has yielded? A fellow woman, one who makes her living dressing famous women in tight, sexy dresses and one who built her empire to do her good works all over the world, would throw these brave women under the bus in a weird, mean girl version of slut shaming?" Jamie continued, revealing she has been victim to sexual harassment at work: "I, too, have been subjected to my own private, personal versions of sexual harassment on the job. Did I ask for it? No. What I simply asked for was a job, and what came with it was sexual harassment." Furthering her point, she added: "What I believe we are all asking for in these instances, is a chance to show our talent, our humanity, a chance to express ourselves and our art and perhaps, be a part of a film that can truly create change." Using Prince's drug overdose as an example, the Scream Queens actress wondered if a "very famous person" had to die to affect change, like it did with opioid laws. When it comes to Harvey and sexual harassment though, she mused if there would be an end: "Perhaps this grotesque power play to 'get some' by this brutish thug of a man and the attempts by him, his lawyer, his board and famous friends to, once again, keep it under wraps and blame the victim will fail. Perhaps the truth will out other sexual harassment, be it from a governor or a president or a presidential candidate or studio head or movie star or executive or anyone else complicit in this billionaire boys club bullshit that will come to an inglorious end. To quote the great Helen Reddy, 'I am woman hear me roar, in numbers too big to ignore.'" Preach! Let's hope more and more stars continue to speak out! Former Bachelor Producer Files Sexual Harassment Complaint Against Warner Brothers & Other Producers

Uh oh, more hot water for The Bachelor franchise. Amid all of the sexual harassment allegations coming to light, former producer for the ABC dating series, Becky Steenhoek, has come forward with a lawsuit against Warner Brothers and several of the show's producers on Monday in Los Angeles Superior Court. The court docs name Caitlin Stapleton, Bennett Graebner, Elan Gale, Peter Scalettar, Jacqueline Naz Perez, in addition to creator Mike Fleiss' production company NZK Productions. According to Steenhoek, she was repeatedly asked very intimate questions about her sex life, which she says were made to make her feel uncomfortable during her time on JoJo Fletcher's season in 2016. Related: Corinne Olympios Is Open To Giving Nick Viall A Second Chance She says the questions often included: "Is your vagina shaved?," "Have you ever fondled [testicles] before?," and "Have you ever sat under a shower faucet or touched yourself to masturbate?" ... "How often do you masturbate?," "Do you own sex toys/dildos?," "Have you ever had anal sex?," "Do you enjoy giving hand jobs?," "Is your vagina shaved?," "Do you have a landing strip?" "Has a man ever got your 'taco' talking?" So graphic! The 31-year-old -- who has since moved back to Texas -- told the LA Times that she was "raised in a Christian household" and the prodding was meant to embarrass her: "You could visibly tell it was very uncomfortable to me to witness, just because they did make comments like, 'Oh, Becky's blushing,' or 'Her ears are probably burning.' It was a bit of a theme that carried on throughout the season ... it was a fun time for them to see me get embarrassed." She even went to cast producer Stapleton, who she says told her at the time: "She just told me, 'Listen, this is just how it is. These are middle-aged white men. This is locker-room talk. This is their way of showing that they're trying to bond with you.'" After her complaint to Stapleton, Steenhoek says she began being excluded from meetings and given less responsibility until she was ultimately fired. When she asked producer Bennett Graebner the reason for her termination, he allegedly told her she was not being enough of a "bitch": "When I was hired for the job, the reason they told me I was being hired because I did have the morals and they felt I was a good person. And then here I am being fired because of that reason." She is suing for damages for sexual harassment and hostile work environment, sex discrimination, retaliation, failure to prevent harassment, intentional infliction of emotional distress, and wrongful termination. Of the entire ordeal, Becky said: "It tainted my whole view of the industry. I wasn't protected. When we sign our paperwork, we're given a sexual harassment policy that says ‘any unwanted — whether it's verbal or physical — sexual advances that makes the person feel uncomfortable and is unwelcome, that you're supposed to report that and it's not allowed.' I think it's an industry-wide problem — these executives are untouchable. If you report it, you get retaliated against, you get fired because then you're not a team player. If you don't report it, then it was essentially me not being me. I would have had to sacrifice my values and my morals for something I didn't think was right, and I'm not gonna do that." Warner Bros. has responded in a statement, saying: "We take all allegations of workplace harassment very seriously. These allegations were brought to our attention and were thoroughly investigated earlier this year. Our findings did not support the plaintiff's characterization of the events claimed to have taken place, which is why we are disappointed by the filing of this lawsuit." We'll keep you posted as we learn more. [Image via Facebook.].....»»

Certain situations get better with time as we evolve as a society together. But sometimes seeing that progression may rub certain celebrities the wrong way. In a world where everything with a vagina ever filmed or photographed is getting their 15 minutes of fame, Sharon Stone was asked to contribute to the sexual misconduct in Hollywood conversation. On CBS Sunday Morning she was asked whether she ever faced any sort of sexual harassment in the entertainment business. If you look in her eyes right before she bursts into a fit of laughter from the ridiculousness of the question you can almost see the memory playback of the sexual favor that landed her the part alongside Michael Douglas. Stone’s response: “You’re laughing, but I don’t know if that’s a nervous laugh or an ‘Are-you-kidding-me-of-course-I-was’ laugh?” Lee Cowen asked. Without giving any specifics, the actress, 59, said she’s “seen it all” throughout her decades-long career. “I’ve been in this business for 40 years. Can you imagine the business I stepped into 40 years ago?” Stone responded. “Looking like I look, from nowhere Pennsylvania? I didn’t come here with any protection. I’ve seen it all.” On @CBSSunday, @sharonstone was asked if she’s ever faced any sort of harassment/assault while she’s been in the entertainment business. This was her reaction….. pic.twitter.com/WdCXVvgxfK — Yashar Ali (@yashar) January 14, 2018 Stone is from the see something say nothing era. Not only did snitches get stitches back then if the situation was serious enough but they got to go home back to the small town that shit them out. Hollywood was pretty much deal with the casting couch or back to the cornfields from which you came. Sharon could have easily spilled enough beans to write a book but she smartly managed to sidestep the inevitable sexual misconduct question during her interrogation. Laughter really is the best medicine. Photo Credit: Pacific Coast News Follow WWTDD on Twitter The post Sharon Stone Thinks Sexual Harassment Is A Joke appeared first on wwtdd......»»
