Mean Girls" Daniel Franzese Accuses Bijou Phillips Of Mocking His Sexuality & Assaulting Him While Filming Bully — See Her Response!

Daniel Franzese claims he has been personally victimized by Bijou Phillips. The actor, best known for playing Damian in Mean Girls, has accused the actress-singer of body shaming him and making fun of his sexuality on the set of their film Bully. Inspired by Ellen Page accusing Brett Ratner of homophobic behavior on the set of X-Men: The Last Stand, Franzese called out Phillips for harassing him during "the entire shoot" of the 2001 thriller. Related: Bryan Cranston Says Kevin Spacey's Career Is 'Over'! In a lengthy Facebook post, he shared: "I was scared and closeted and feared for my job. It started with a lot of eye‪ rolling whenever we spoke but‪ escalated when we did a cast shoot for the poster‪. ‪As we were shooting she kept loudly saying 'Are you gay?!' and laughing‪ while the producers‪ and photographer did nothing‪ to stop her." Franzese added that some fellow cast members like Michael Pitt and the late Brad Renfro "kept telling her to shut up," but that didn't stop the alleged bullying. He continued: "[S]he continued to say 'Are You Gay?!' Like 10 times making sure to be loud enough for everyone to hear I reluctantly told her i was bi. Which at the time was how I was choosing to‪ identify as 'Q' wasn't known to be an option yet and to be honest I don't know that I had many gay experiences at the time my life. I was an extremely late bloomer. She cackled and‪ said 'HA! He's bi!' And then when I showed up to work the next day in front of the crew she was screaming 'Oh look! The Bi guy is here!'" Franzese added that while filming a scene that required him to take his shirt off, Phillips broke character at the sight of his torso, pointed at him and "at the top of her lungs yelled 'Ewwww gross!!!'" Thankfully, not every actor filming Bully was a bully IRL. Franzese noted that Renfro tried to comfort him afterwards and later yelled "Someone give me a real actress!" as Phillips allegedly continued her taunting. Related: George Takei Denies All Sexual Assault Allegations Phillips somewhat came to her senses, Franzese claimed, when Bully costar Nick Stahl, whom she was dating at the time, had a long talk with her and convinced her to apologize. When she did apologize, Franzese noted it didn't feel sincere -- and came with a pinch of assault: "Later she pulled me aside and said 'I'm sorry if I offended you. You actually remind me of someone.' She said Carnie Wilson who is in her sister's band Wilson Phillips at the time was well (sic) known for her weight issues in the media. It was meant to be a insult. She then grabbed my nipple and twisted it hard through my shirt and laughed and walked away. I stopped talking to her for the rest of filming." The bullying didn't end there, apparently. During a later scene while she was sitting behind the Looking actor, she "kept rubbing her dirty feet on my neck. I kept swiveling the chair to move away from her and she kicked me as hard as she could in the back of the head. To this day I'm not even sure if she gave me a concussion because I was light headed and dizzy for a while." WTF! Related: Brett Ratner Allegedly Masturbated In Front Of Model In A Car Hoping that Phillips might be "a different person" today, Franzese explained he's since seen the actress on multiple occasions "and tolerated our obligatory greetings," but notes the experience has resulted in "a PTSD that had me stay closeted for a long time." So, what does the Regina George have to say about all this? She totally doesn't remember and feels super bad about it! Phillips, now a Scientologist married to accused rapist Danny Masterson, issued a response to TMZ apologizing for her "reckless" behavior. She wrote: "I want to write to address what Daniel has said. I don't remember that time well, those years are a blur. I was a teenager and reckless in my behavior. I know Daniel to be a trustworthy and honest person, and to find out through social media that I was not the friend I thought I was to him made me so sad. I am so mortified by this behavior and have contacted Daniel and apologized to him privately. I am not and never have been homophobic. I have nothing but love for the LGBTQ community and Daniel." It's nice she apologized, but saying she's "never" been homophobic completely invalidates the power of her accuser. Just admit you were the worst, girl! Despite sharing his story to multiple reporters and TV anchors, the actor feels his experience has "never really been heard." Hopefully now's the time we start listening. Sadly, now we're hearing one from Lupita Nyong'o. Related: All 45+ Women Who Have Accused Harvey Weinstein So Far The Black Panther actress opened up in a lengthy New York Times op-ed on Thursday, in which she says she felt "a flare of rage" in learning how many women had been through what she had: "I had shelved my experience with Harvey far in the recesses of my mind, joining in the conspiracy of silence that has allowed this predator to prowl for so many years. I had felt very much alone when these things happened, and I had blamed myself for a lot of it, quite like many of the other women who have shared their stories. But now that this is being discussed openly, I have not been able to avoid the memories resurfacing. I have felt sick in the pit of my stomach." Here is her story: "I met Harvey Weinstein in 2011 at an awards ceremony in Berlin, while I was still a student at the Yale School of Drama. An intermediary introduced him to me as "the most powerful producer in Hollywood." As an aspiring actress, I was of course eager to meet people in the industry but cautious about strangers, and the intentions of men in general." She asked her dinner companions about Harvey and was given the typical response that he could be "a bully" -- which meant it was better to have him in her corner than against her. Ultimately she says he was somewhat "charming" despite his directness, and that "he didn't alarm" her at first. So when he invited her to watch a screening of a film with his family at his home in Connecticut -- near where she was living in New Haven -- she accepted. Related: Channing Tatum Cuts All Ties With The Weinstein Company His family was actually there, at least. But when they all gathered to watch the film, that's when Harvey pounced: "I settled in for the film, but about 15 minutes in, Harvey came for me, saying he wanted to show me something. I protested that I wanted to finish the film first, but he insisted I go with him, laying down the law as though I too was one of his children." In his home with his children there. Ick. "Harvey led me into a bedroom — his bedroom — and announced that he wanted to give me a massage. I thought he was joking at first. He was not. For the first time since I met him, I felt unsafe. I panicked a little and thought quickly to offer to give him one instead: It would allow me to be in control physically, to know exactly where his hands were at all times... He agreed to this and lay on the bed. I began to massage his back to buy myself time to figure out how to extricate myself from this undesirable situation. Before long he said he wanted to take off his pants. I told him not to do that and informed him that it would make me extremely uncomfortable. He got up anyway to do so and I headed for the door, saying that I was not at all comfortable with that. 'If we're not going to watch the film, I really should head back to school,' I said. I opened the door and stood by the frame. He put his shirt on and again mentioned how stubborn I was. I agreed with an easy laugh, trying to get myself out of the situation safely. I was after all on his premises, and the members of his household, the potential witnesses, were all (strategically, it seems to me now) in a soundproof room." That time, Lupita was able to leave somewhat easily enough. She says she even justified the massage request to herself, though it helped that Harvey had enticed her with the possibility of a job (on an HBO show she later found out was already off the air). But she was still uneasy with Harvey, so when he invited her to a reading of the play version of Finding Neverland, she politely refused -- until he told her she could bring anyone she wanted. She attended with two male friends. Related: Quentin Tarantino Knew Harvey 'Did A Couple Of These Things'! Nothing untoward happened the entire evening, including when a large group went out for dinner and drinks. So the next time he invited her to a screening -- this time of Madonna's film W.E. -- she accepted. "Feeling more confident about the new sense of boundaries that we had established in our last meeting, I attended the screening on my own this time. Afterward, as planned, his male assistant arranged for me to get to the Tribeca Grill, where Harvey would be joining us. I met a female assistant when I arrived there. I was expecting that it would be a group of us, as it had been for the reading, but she informed me it would just be Mr. Weinstein. She would sit with me until he arrived. She seemed on edge, but I could only imagine how stressful it was to work for a man who had so much going on." As with other stories we've heard, the assistant "immediately disappeared" after Harvey arrived. And this time he was direct: "Before the starters arrived, he announced: 'Let's cut to the chase. I have a private room upstairs where we can have the rest of our meal.' I was stunned. I told him I preferred to eat in the restaurant. He told me not to be so naïve. If I wanted to be an actress, then I had to be willing to do this sort of thing. He said he had dated Famous Actress X and Y and look where that had gotten them. I was silent for a while before I mustered up the courage to politely decline his offer. 'You have no idea what you are passing up,' he said. 'With all due respect, I would not be able to sleep at night if I did what you are asking, so I must pass,' I replied." That's when Lupita knew Harvey was through with her; she asked him if they were good and recalls his chilling response: "'I don't know about your career, but you'll be fine,' he said. It felt like both a threat and a reassurance at the same time; of what, I couldn't be sure." Lupita made a vow to herself never to work with Weinstein, a vow she kept when he tried to entice her following her Oscar win for 12 Years A Slave. Related: LAPD Opens Harvey Weinstein Rape Investigation She explains why she's telling her story now -- for all the women who are like she was: "I share all of this now because I know now what I did not know then. I was part of a growing community of women who were secretly dealing with harassment by Harvey Weinstein. But I also did not know that there was a world in which anybody would care about my experience with him. You see, I was entering into a community that Harvey Weinstein had been in, and even shaped, long before I got there. He was one of the first people I met in the industry, and he told me, "This is the way it is." And wherever I looked, everyone seemed to be bracing themselves and dealing with him, unchallenged. I did not know that things could change. I did not know that anybody wanted things to change. So my survival plan was to avoid Harvey and men like him at all costs, and I did not know that I had allies in this." She concludes: "Now that we are speaking, let us never shut up about this kind of thing. I speak up to make certain that this is not the kind of misconduct that deserves a second chance. I speak up to contribute to the end of the conspiracy of silence. Amen, sister. You can read her full op-ed HERE. [Image via Apega/Michael Wright/WENN.].....»»

Donald Trump. What sense does it make to call out the Harvey Weinsteins and Kevin Spaceys of the world, when we're literally letting a self-proclaimed assaulter run ours? These standards cannot just apply to a few, but to all. The new documentary short from Brave New Films powerfully reminds us of this as it compiles heartbreaking statements from 16 women who have come forward with stories of disturbing encounters with Trump. Related: Trump Reverses Ban On Importing 'Trophies' Of Elephants Killed In Africa The studio's founder Robert Greenwald said of the project in a statement: "As a society, we are finally beginning to hold powerful men to account for abusing their positions and influence to harass and abuse women. But this movement for accountability will ring hollow if it doesn't apply to the most powerful, and public, sexual harasser in America—the president. In the post-Harvey Weinstein (or Roy Moore, Louis C.K., etc.) world we live in, we cannot ignore 16 women who over the course of decades in a broad range of situations encountered the same pattern of manipulation, misogyny, harassment and abuse. We owe it to these women, and to all women, to hold President Trump to account." LOUDER FOR THOSE IN THE BACK, ROBERT! Remember these courageous women's stories in the video (below): And never forget this quote from our POTUS: "I just start kissing them. It's like a magnet. Just kiss. I don't even wait. And when you're a star, they let you do it." We must hold Trump accountable. [Image via Kento Nara/Future Image/WENN.].....»»

Donald Trump VS The NFL — Everything You Need To Know!

Well, when you're talking about Donald Trump, there actually are a couple good reasons. (And by "good" we mean horrific.) Let's rewind. Related: Like John Oliver Did Last Night For Megyn Kelly -- OUCH! On Friday night, Trump was holding a rally in Alabama -- yes, our sitting president who has been in office less than a year regularly holds campaign-style rallies to inflate his ego -- in which he made some inflammatory remarks about protesting football players. In short, he said NFL owners should fire the players who kneel during the National Anthem. And he said it in the crudest way: "Wouldn't you love to see one of these NFL owners, when somebody disrespects our flag, to say, ‘Get that son of a bitch off the field right now. Out! He's fired. He's fired!'" Yep. Our president used an expletive in a public speech attacking private citizens who are peacefully protesting. Though he didn't mention Colin Kaepernick by name, he is at the vanguard of this controversy. So his mom responded to the "son of a bitch" comment with an AMAZING quip: Guess that makes me a proud bitch! — Teresa Kaepernick (@B4IleaveU) September 23, 2017 It should be noted in that same speech he also rattled off the opinion that penalties for hitting too hard, installed to protect players from concussions, are "ruining the game." Shortly after this, Golden State Warriors star Stephen Curry was so offended by this (and presumably everything that came before) he decided not to attend the traditional visit by the NBA champs to the White House. In response, Trump officially, publicly disinvited him. CLICK HERE FOR MORE! Guy. Everyone knows you can't un-invite someone after they said they weren't coming! It turns you from a loser into an ANGRY loser. Even middle school student body presidents wouldn't make that mistake. Damn. Or as LeBron James put it: U bum @StephenCurry30 already said he ain't going! So therefore ain't no invite. Going to White House was a great honor until you showed up! — LeBron James (@KingJames) September 23, 2017 Ha! But Trump had moved on from a feud with a specific player. He decided he wanted to take on the entire NFL. On Saturday, Drumpf doubled down: If a player wants the privilege of making millions of dollars in the NFL,or other leagues, he or she should not be allowed to disrespect.... — Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) September 23, 2017 ...our Great American Flag (or Country) and should stand for the National Anthem. If not, YOU'RE FIRED. Find something else to do! — Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) September 23, 2017 If you haven't seen it, longtime sports journalist Bob Costas gave an epic response to this argument, pointing out that peaceful protest and dissent are some of the most patriotic things you can do in a free country. CLICK HERE FOR MORE After NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell said Trump's comments showed an "unfortunate lack of respect for the NFL, our great game and all of our players," Trump responded: Roger Goodell of NFL just put out a statement trying to justify the total disrespect certain players show to our country.Tell them to stand! — Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) September 23, 2017 On Sunday, he actually encouraged his followers to boycott watching the games: If NFL fans refuse to go to games until players stop disrespecting our Flag & Country, you will see change take place fast. Fire or suspend! — Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) September 24, 2017 This is clearly on very shaky ground ethically -- the POTUS directing people to boycott a private American business -- and he's already had a complaint filed against him with the Office of Government Ethics. Oh, and if you're like us and know to look for the tweet from Barack Obama's presidency that proves Trump is being a total hypocrite about this, look no further: President should not be telling the Washington Redskins to change their name-our country has far bigger problems! FOCUS on them, not nonsense — Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) October 8, 2013 Every time. So on Sunday when it came time for football players to stand for the National Anthem, all eyes were on their reactions, which... varied. At latest count more than 200 players league-wide didn't stand for the anthem. Trump's friend Tom Brady doesn't have his back. The Pittsburg Steelers didn't show up on the field at all! CLICK HERE FOR MORE Trump was so unhappy about all this he may even have snuck a lewd gesture onto live TV. You can decide that one for yourself. Trump was undeterred. Obviously. But on Monday morning, he did tweet a clarification, as once again he didn't like being called out as a racist: The issue of kneeling has nothing to do with race. It is about respect for our Country, Flag and National Anthem. NFL must respect this! — Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) September 25, 2017 Except it DOES have to do with race. You can't say the intent of these players has nothing to do with race when they're flat-out saying it's about race. It's about injustice along racial lines, specifically when it comes to police brutality. Police keep getting away with killing unarmed black citizens. But the surge in players kneeling this Sunday was in unity AGAINST Trump's awful comments attacking players and their freedom of speech. We know because THAT'S WHAT THEY'RE SAYING ABOUT IT! And they aren't alone. Many celebrities have come out in support of the protesting. CLICK HERE FOR MORE So with all of this support on the other side, for the NFL, for freedom of speech, for African Americans looking for justice, why would Trump take the position he's taking? Two reasons: 1. His Base We already know by Trump's inability to condemn the neo-Nazis in Charlottesville, equating the white supremacists with those counter-protesting, that Trump is unwilling to go against his base. Let's be honest here. Trump ran on a platform of hate. He painted Mexicans as criminals as he threw his hat in the ring. He regularly fans the flames of Islamophobia. His wall, aside from being completely idiotic, is as xenophobic a policy as we've ever heard. The first time he even dipped his toe into the political world was to declare Obama wasn't really an American. So his core supporters, the ones he's courted from the beginning, are racists. And he can't lose them. They're all he has left. Besides the cowardly Republican party that let him hijack them we mean. 2. Ego Trump KNOWS so much of this is about him. He's the one who is embarrassing and demeaning our country, he's the one making us all look bad, he's the one emboldening Nazis. It's 2017, and we have a Nazi problem! Let that soak in. He's making every problem with our country worse. So as the leader of the United States, he takes it as a personal slight when players kneel during its anthem, when they don't stand for the flag. And we know how he reacts to criticism. And he's petty enough to start a war with an organization like the NFL over it. So there you go. [Image via Instagram.].....»»

Calling him a "serial sexual predator," the anonymous group of reportedly almost 30 staff members condemn his actions in the pointed piece. Related: The Weinstein Company Is In TROUBLE They add they are aware their statement violates their non-disclosure agreement, but feel Harvey violated their contracts' promise to a safe work environment with his alleged harassment and assault. They wrote: "We came to work at this company because we love movies. We grew up watching Miramax films, and came to associate that name, and later the name Weinstein, with great storytelling... All of us were excited to get the job, proud to be working for a company with such an illustrious history. We all knew that we were working for a man with an infamous temper. We did not know we were working for a serial sexual predator. We knew that our boss could be manipulative. We did not know that he used his power to systematically assault and silence women. We had an idea that he was a womanizer who had extra-marital affairs. We did not know he was a violent aggressor and alleged rapist." They continued: "Our company was built on Harvey's unbridled ambition – his aggressive deal-making, his insatiable desire to win and get what he wanted, his unabashed love for celebrity – these traits were legendary, and the art they produced made an indelible mark on the entertainment industry. But we now know that behind closed doors, these were the same traits that made him a monster. He created a toxic ecosystem where his abuse could flourish unchecked for decades." The group of employees also asked to be released from the NDAs in their contracts so they can "speak openly, and get to the origins of what happened here, and how." TWC's staff also shared their support for the brave women who have shared their stories about Harvey: "We unequivocally support all the women who have come forward, many of whom we count among our own friends and colleagues. Thank you for speaking out. When the New York Times and The New Yorker articles broke, we wept. We see you, we admire you, and we are in this fight alongside you." Additionally, any reports of them being "honeypots" and being complicit in his behaviors are "disgusting": "And while we can only speak for the people represented in this statement, none of us ever knowingly acted as a so-called ‘honeypot.' That is disgusting and renders us all victims of Harvey's disgraceful behavior." You can read the statement in its entirety HERE! [Image via Media Punch.].....»»

"What Could I Do?" The OA"s Brit Marling Says Harvey Weinstein Tried To Get Her To Shower With Him

But she wasn't just the star -- she also created and wrote the mysterious sci-fi show. So when she decided to go public with her story of being brought under false pretenses to the hotel room of Harvey Weinstein, the result was a thoughtful piece about society as a whole. Related: All The Women Who Have Accused Harvey Weinstein So Far In an essay for The Atlantic, she wrote about her meeting with the Hollywood powerhouse in 2014, after she had a couple indies screen at the Sundance Film Festival. And, as she points out, the "meeting" was all too familiar a story: "I, too, went to the meeting thinking that perhaps my entire life was about to change for the better. I, too, was asked to meet him in a hotel bar. I, too, met a young, female assistant there who said the meeting had been moved upstairs to his suite because he was a very busy man. I, too, felt my guard go up but was calmed by the presence of another woman my age beside me. I, too, felt terror in the pit of my stomach when that young woman left the room and I was suddenly alone with him. I, too, was asked if I wanted a massage, champagne, strawberries. I, too, sat in that chair paralyzed by mounting fear when he suggested we shower together." Thankfully, as Brit says in her essay, she had been in Hollywood long enough to have recognized the paths she did not want to go down, and she was able to get out of there: "I was able to gather myself together—a bundle of firing nerves, hands trembling, voice lost in my throat—and leave the room. I later sat in my hotel room alone and wept. I wept because I had gone up the elevator when I knew better. I wept because I had let him touch my shoulders. I wept because at other times in my life, under other circumstances, I had not been able to leave." Those types of circumstances many women face are ultimately what Brit wants to talk about. Related: Celebrity Chef Steps Down From Company After Sexual Harassment Allegations She writes: "I'm telling this story because in the heat surrounding these brave admissions, it's important to think about the economics of consent. Weinstein was a gatekeeper who could give actresses a career that would sustain their lives and the livelihood of their families. He could also give them fame, which is one of few ways for women to gain some semblance of power and voice inside a patriarchal world. They knew it. He knew it. Weinstein could also ensure that these women would never work again if they humiliated him. That's not just artistic or emotional exile—that's also economic exile." Speaking of streaming sci-fi, if you thought The Handmaid's Tale couldn't happen just look backward a bit: "It's important, too, to keep in mind where this power imbalance comes from. In the U.S., women were only allowed to have credit cards in their own names as of 43 years ago. Men had a two-decade head start (the credit card was invented in 1950). In the 1960s a woman needed to bring a man along to cosign any credit application. It's stunning how recently women were afforded no financial autonomy. This is, of course, connected to the fact that women didn't have bodily autonomy either. A woman's husband could beat her or have sex with her without her consent in this country with no real legal recourse until the 1970s. How horrifying is that? Just think about those facts every time Donald Trump says "Make America Great AGAIN." "For me, this all distills down to the following: The things that happen in hotel rooms and board rooms all over the world (and in every industry) between women seeking employment or trying to keep employment and men holding the power to grant it or take it away exist in a gray zone where words like "consent" cannot fully capture the complexity of the encounter. Because consent is a function of power. You have to have a modicum of power to give it. In many cases women do not have that power because their livelihood is in jeopardy and because they are the gender that is oppressed by a daily, invisible war waged against all that is feminine—women and humans who behave or dress or think or feel or look feminine." Brit views this as a much larger problem than just Harvey, than just Hollywood. She says: "It's not these bad men. Or that dirty industry. It's this inhumane economic system of which we are all a part. As producers and as consumers." So what's the solution? In general, Marling believes part of the solution must come from women closing the pay gap and thus the disparity in economic power: "This means that, in part, stopping sexual harassment and abuse will involve fighting for wage parity. This also means women and men in power need to turn around and hire more women, especially women of color, especially women who have not grown up with economic privilege." You can read Brit's entire take on the situation HERE. [Image via FayesVision/Ivan Nikolov/WENN.].....»»
