Roseanne Barr was back on Twitter Tuesday evening, in an effort to defend her racially charged Valerie Jarrett tweet and weigh in on her ABC show's cancellation. The disgraced comedienne began her social fury by retweeting alt-right figure Jack Posobiec, Thomas Wictor, and way too many supportive messages from her followers. She thanked fans by mostly replying to others' messages. Related: Here's How Valerie Jarrett Feels About Roseanne She also tweeted (and deleted) that the sleep aid Ambien was seemingly responsible for her foul behavior: "guys I did something unforgiveable so do not defend me. It was 2 in the morning and I was ambien tweeting -- it was memorial day too -- i went 2 far & do not want it defended -- it was egregious Indefensible. I made a mistake I wish I hadn't but...don't defend it please." The 65-year-old actress talked about the drug again in a later tweet, sharing: "Not giving excuses for what I did(tweeted) but I've done weird stuff while on ambien -- cracked eggs on the wall at 2am etc." Soon after, Roseanne took a page out of Donald Trump's playbook and denied blaming the drug for her racist rant: i blamed myself. not ambien, stop lying — Roseanne Barr (@therealroseanne) May 30, 2018 no, i didnt i blamed myself. stop lying. Yes, I have had odd ambien experiences on tweeting late at night-like many other ppl do. The former sitcom star also shared two direct apologies at Jarrett as well as a few messages to her fans: @ValerieJarrett I want to apologize to you. I am very sorry to have hurt you. Of all the sitcoms to reboot the superior tastemakers of the TV world select Roseanne to save cable. There was a plethora of other shows to pick from. Married.. with Children, “I fit every stereotype of a Jewish woman, hey don’t forget I’m Jewish every episode” The Nanny. Hell, even bringing back Frasier would have been a better idea. But settling on an erratic, still overweight after all these years Roseanne will always come with consequences, as it should. The short version: Roseanne called former Obama advisor Valerie Jarrett an ape on Twitter. She’s African American and Roseanne is behaving like the world didn’t just lose it’s shit over H & M mildly suggesting one of the black child models was a monkey. She’s also alleging that her terrible tweet was sponsored by the ingestion of Ambien. Because personal accountability for anything in 2018 is unheard of. In one of the tweets, Barr wrote, “Muslim brotherhood & planet of the apes had a baby=vj.” Barr was responding to a comment about Valerie Jarrett, a top former aide to President Obama. Barr had earlier apologized and said she was “now leaving Twitter.” But it was too late, even after Roseanne realized the repercussions starting to snowball and head in her direction. She immediately backtracked and deleted the tweets but after her response went viral Wanda Sykes quit the show, Barr was dropped from her talent agency, and ABC delivered the final bullet to the back of her head by canceling the show and giving her a few words of their own. ABC canceled its hit sitcom “Roseanne” on Tuesday after the show’s biggest star, Roseanne Barr, went on a racist Twitter rant. “Roseanne’s Twitter statement is abhorrent, repugnant and inconsistent with our values, and we have decided to cancel her show,” ABC said. How is it possible to be 65-years-old and still having learning experiences like this one. No doubt that her earlier trailer park training in life led to this poor decision. No one is saying that she has to attend cookouts or greet everyone she crosses paths with in a hijab with assalamu alaikum but don’t put your foot in your mouth doing your best impression of a prick online for no reason. Double-down if you know keeping things PC is too much of a problem. Pick a side of the fence and stay there. Roseanne can’t fully commit to anything except being fat and a nuisance on social media. The culture for a while has been “say something we don’t agree with and you’ll lose your job.” Her attempting to apologize after all of this only makes her look as stupid and wishy washy as everyone assumed. Roseanne Reboot Tackles Dan"s Death, Right-Wing Politics, & Gender Fluidity — And Twitter Is DIVIDED! Recap Here!

ABC's Roseanne reboot premiered Tuesday night, and boy, are the people divided! While the Conners' old, beaten down couch is the same, the members of America's favorite blue collar family has grown: Roseanne is now a Trump-supporting grandma! Darlene has a gender fluid kid! Dan isn't dead! Though many fell under the spell of network nostalgia, a number of Twitics just couldn't get past the title character's political beliefs. But defenders argued that Roseanne refreshingly showed a family on both sides of the political spectrum -- which we saw in the premiere, as Jackie (Laurie Metcalf) and Roseanne have been divided ever since the election. Related: Roseanne Cast -- Then & Now Echoing the opinions of the woman who plays her, Roseanne voted for Trump because he talked about jobs "on the real news." Jackie, on the other hand, was so freaked out by her fights with her sister, she ended up voting for Jill Stein instead of Hillary Clinton! Pushing politics aside, (which Twitter could NOT do -- but we'll get to that in a minute) a lot happened in the two-episode premiere. Becky (Lecy Goranson) is back and hoping to become a surrogate for a woman named Andrea (Sarah Chalke, AKA Becky 2). Darlene (Sara Gilbert) told everyone she came home to take care of her parents, but really she's the one who needs taking care of since girl lost her job and, as she cried to Roseanne, has "got no partner." Where you at, Johnny Galecki? The second episode tackled the original series finale, in which it was revealed that Dan (John Goodman) had died. After Dan finds Roseanne's transcript in the garage, he tells her with a hug: "This would have sold like hotcakes, if only you hadn't killed off the most interesting character. He was a gentle giant." Roseanne had notes of her own, joking that she should have added "more bondage and a wizard school" to the story. Pop culture references! Related: Former Disney Star Now Works In Trump's White House But most of the second episode focused on Darlene's son Mark, who likes dressing in girl's clothing because, as he told his grandma, "this just feels like me. I like colors that pop. It's more creative." Darlene was completely okay with Mark's outfit choices, but Dan was worried about it. During Mark's first day at school, he was made fun of so bad that he showed another kid a knife -- given to him by Dan. In the end, Darlene made her son realize that "weird is cool" and he continued to dress with colors that popped. All in all, the reboot was more progressive than not. It illustrated the reality of Trump-supporters and Trump haters living under one roof and coming together, for better or worse. Though a large population of Twitter responders could NOT get past Roseanne's new MAGA-attitude. Read some divisive reactions to the premiere (below)! If this #Roseanne show gets republicans and democrats to speak and be nice to each other, I'm here for it. — Richard S. McClain (@mcclain_r) March 28, 2018 The truth is that I loved the original #Roseanne, but she isn't simply a Trump supporter. She's continually made racist statements against Muslims and spreads #Pizzagate and #SethRich conspiracy theories. Sometimes you can't separate the real person from the character. — Nick Jack Pappas (@Pappiness) March 28, 2018 People, calm down... if you actually watched #Roseanne tonight you would have noticed that there were jokes made about Hillary supporters AND Trump supporters. It was hardly one-sided or "pro-Trump." I feel show depicted the reality of a family with different political views. — Nathan Stark (@TheStarkVoice) March 28, 2018 What the hell?? No im not a trump supporter, but i dont go up in arms when a fictional character does. #Roseanne is a tv show representing a different viewpoint. And that's ok. — Joshua Ovenshire (@TheJovenshire) March 28, 2018 I’m already looking forward to when they reboot the cancellation of #Roseanne — The Hoarse Whisperer (@HoarseWisperer) March 28, 2018 For the millionth time we don’t want an inside look at everyday Trump supporters. It doesn’t matter if it’s a #Roseanne reboot or a mainstream media profile. They let their hatred get the best of them, fell for Trump’s con and wrecked our country. There is no other story to tell. — Adam Best (@adamcbest) March 28, 2018 There are a lot of #Roseanne republicans. Voting against themselves to the point that they live in the same house, with the same damn furniture 30 years later — SilENce DoGOoD (@realBigBalls) March 28, 2018 #Roseanne handled death, divcorce, non-gender conforming children, job loss, and political division in the first two episodes. This show isn’t for your side or mine. It’s life as we know it. Welcome back, domestic goddess! — Misty Bowles (@ladybarometer) March 28, 2018 the cognitive dissonance is strong in this one #Roseanne pic.twitter.com/pv1wNzAoBW — m i t h (@ManInTheHoody) March 28, 2018 I don’t care who you are, the #Roseanne reboot is hilarious. Roseanne Melts Down In New Video: ” I Thought The B*tch Was White!”

Roseanne Barr's sanity has officially left the building. The post Roseanne Melts Down In New Video: ” I Thought The B*tch Was White!” appeared first on WWTDD - What Would Tyler Durden Do?.   First off, the positive. Roseanne Barr’s hair in this new manic sure-to-be-infamous YouTube interview with her son looks good. Like really good. The best it’s ever looked. Of course there won’t be much left of her hair if she keeps yanking on it due to her grab bag of mental disorders and/or bath salts usage. But for now, credit where credit is due. Now, the negative. Roseanne Barr’s sanity has officially left the building. She’s fucking bonkers. And anyone who still thinks that her apparent instability is actually subversive comic genius can go right on ahead and join her in getting a $200 haircut and then all but scalping herself on screen. Barr experienced a resurgence in popularity thanks to her divisive but highly successful Roseanne reboot series on ABC. But after excusing a number of Roseanne’s controversial tweets, ABC finally gave her the boot when she compared black former senior advisor to Barack Obama, Valerie Jarrett, to an ape: muslim brotherhood & planet of the apes had a baby=vj. ABC swiftly canceled Roseanne, after which Barr apologized for the tweet and blamed it on her Ambien stupor. Now, Ambien would seem to be the least of her problems. Roseanne posted this interview with her son to her YouTube channel, and while delivering an almost uncanny impression of Debra Wilson as Whitney Houston on Mad TV, she addresses her Valerie Jarrett tweet with: I thought the bitch was white! Among other meme-worthy one-liners. This is the point in a horror movie where you realize that the person you’re with is the killer, and you can’t believe that you hung out with them so many times without realizing it. I liked Roseanne. Barr’s comments in the video aren’t even nearly as shocking as… everything else. ABC greenlit the Roseanne reboot in Spring of 2017, and you have to imagine her behavior then wasn’t wildly different than it is now. She showed up to meetings like this and they thought “Fun! And definitely not a liability!”? ABC is the family that adopts an abused pit bull and then acts shocked when it tears a baby in two. Something – judging by Roseanne’s face in this video – she seems wholly capable of doing.   Photo Credit: One of the Becky’s from the upcoming show The Conners from Getty Images / Backgrid USA / YouTube The post Roseanne Melts Down In New Video: ” I Thought The B*tch Was White!” appeared first on WWTDD - What Would Tyler Durden Do?......»»

He plays the Colonel, the main antagonist of the film who leads a wide scale and seemingly final battle against the Apes. “You could easily look at the Colonel as a bad guy,” said Harrelson, who starred earlier this year in Wilson. “But I kind of look at him as a guy who feels called upon to do something great and important in this uncertain world.” The original Planet of the Apes films had its share of memorable performances (Charlton Heston, Roddy McDowall), and the latest string of films has also carved out wonderful work from its ensemble (most notably John Lithgow in Rise of the Planet of the Apes and of course Andy Serkis as Caesar in the both Rise and Dawn of the Planet of the Apes). Hopefully War for the Planet of the Apes continues to carry the high level of storytelling as the previous installments. Of COURSE Fox News Is Defending Roseanne Barr"s Racist Planet Of The Apes Comment As Free Speech

Everyone in their right mind is loving that ABC stepped up to the plate and canceled Roseanne after its series star tweeted a repugnantly racist joke about Valerie Jarrett. Those in their right-wing mind, however, are less than impressed — and say that Roseanne Barr is the poor victim of anti-free speech! Take it from Fox News [...] Everyone in their right mind is loving that ABC stepped up to the plate and canceled Roseanne after its series star tweeted a repugnantly racist joke about Valerie Jarrett. Those in their right-wing mind, however, are less than impressed -- and say that Roseanne Barr is the poor victim of anti-free speech! Take it from Fox News host Harris Faulkner, who defended the comedian on Tuesday, saying it was her right to liken the former Obama administration adviser to The Planet of the Apes. Related: Sara Gilbert & Disney React To Roseanne's Cancellation Arguing that Ro-ro's racist tweet was merely a "miscalculated joke," the Outnumbered Overtime correspondent said: "I don't understand it to be anything other than free speech. It is extremely offensive but it is just that. She says in one of her tweets, there were three rapid-fire today, where she says, ‘Well, it was a joke. It was a miscalculated joke.'" Republican strategist Noelle Nikpour agreed, adding: "She is a comedian. She does have a very wicked, twisted sense of humor. Everybody knows her to be a little raunchy and a little rough." Uh... raunchy is Amy Schumer talking about giving/receiving oral sex. Roseanne's vile comment was something a racist grandma would say before being wheeled out of the room because she's embarrassing the family in front of dinner guests. That embarrassed family, dear Fox Newshitstains, is ABC. Roseanne wasn't censored for supporting Trump or a different view, but instead for comparing a black woman to an ape like some Breitbart troll. That's not a joke -- that's a malicious statement targeting someone's race. Roseanne has since apologized for her joke and announced she was leaving Twitter. Although the picture grossed over $490 million worldwide, the feature was still one of this year’s more underrated films (its predecessor, Dawn of the Planet of the Apes, grossed over $710 million worldwide). Along with another excellent performance from Andy Serkis as Caesar, Harrelson was also memorable as the antagonist, and their anti-climactic final conflict, at least in my opinion, was one of this year’s most surprising cinematic moments. Click on the media bar below to hear Serkis talk about the “brilliantly real” CGI behind War for the Planet the Apes: The Blu-ray’s special features include audio commentary from director Matt Reeves, several featurettes on the making of the film, and a plethora of deleted scenes (with optional commentary from Reeves). One of the deleted scenes, however, is worth watching especially if you’re a fan of Dawn of the Planet of the Apes. The sequence features a discussion between Caesar and the Colonel which deals with the ultimate fate of Malcolm (Jason Clarke). War for the Planet of the Apes is now out on on Blu-Ray and DVD. Roseanne Claims She"d Be A "Better President Than Oprah" — As ABC Reportedly Scrambles To End Press Conference!

We're not sure the world is ready for President Barr. On Monday, during a press conference for the Roseanne reboot, Roseanne Barr got political as she defended her decision to support Donald Trump AND revealed that she thought she'd be a better Commander-In-Chief than Oprah Winfrey. We'll give you a minute to pick your jaws up off of the floor... Related: Here's How The Roseanne Revival Will Incorporate Sarah Chalke On why she has chosen to stand by the controversial Cheeto-In-Chief, the 65-year-old comedienne noted: "I think it was time for us as a country to shake things up and try something different." Yeah, but did it have to be HIM??? Ugh. In regards to Oprah's empowering Golden Globes speech, which has had many calling for the media mogul to run in 2020, the funny lady relayed: "I do love Oprah. Of course I love Oprah like everybody else... Actually, I think I would be a better president than Oprah or Susan Sarandon, possibly even President Trump." EXCUSE US?? The bigoted content on Barr's Twitter account has us debating that particular point. And while Roseanne is personally a Trump supporter, she has chosen to also make her TV alter-ego a Donald fan -- for one VERY particular reason. She continued: "I said it, and I'll say again, my show has always been … I've always attempted to portray a realistic portrait of the American people and of working class people. And in fact, it was working class people who elected Trump, so I felt like that was very real and something that needed to be discussed especially about polarization in the family and actually hating people for the way they voted, which I feel like is not American. … There was a lot of thought in it." Although Barr's castmates -- including John Goodman, Sara Gilbert, Laurie Metcalf, etc. -- were seated next to her on the dais, reporters targeted most of their questions at Roseanne. Unsurprisingly, many of the queries were political in nature. After being asked if her character would question the President's xenophobia, the industry vet tried to dodge the inquiry by saying she didn't "want to get into this." However, as Roseanne is unafraid of controversy, she boldly stated: "I'm not a Trump apologist. There are a lot of things that he's said and done that I don't agree with. There's probably a lot of things Hillary Clinton has done and said that you don't agree with it. Nobody is brainwashed into agreeing with 100 percent of what anybody said. One bright thing I read today is, this is the lowest black unemployment for many, many years, so I think that's great. I do support jobs for people. I think that's a great way to fight racism is that everybody has a job." When one of the show's writers tried to chime in, the thrice married star interrupted: "Speaking of racism, I'm just going to say it." Gilbert tried to get her TV mom to walk away from the controversy bait by asking if Roseanne was "sure" she wanted to go there. The answer was clearly "yes" as Barr concluded: "A big part of why I couldn't vote for Hillary Clinton is because of Haiti... I think it's a time to close ranks. I would really like to see an end to hatriotism in this country." WHOA. Per reports, an ABC publicist scrambled to end the press conference. Roseanne better be careful, in this political climate, one serious controversy could get the reboot pulled from programming!! [Image via Adriana M. Barraza/WENN.].....»»

Andy Serkis Gets An Eyeful With ‘War For The Planet of The Apes’ Visuals

It's hard for Andy Serkis to top his work as Gollum in director Peter Jackson's Lord of the Rings trilogy and The Hobbit, but he's reached similar creative heights as sheltered ape turned leader Caesar in the latest Planet of the Apes films. War for the Planet of the Apes puts a cinematic exclamation point on the trilogy as it’s the finest film of the lot. Part of the franchise’s success comes from director Matt Reeves who helmed War and 2014’s Dawn of the Planet of the Apes. “He was very willing to take it as far as he could,” said Serkis. “And we completely connected. He’s all about discovering the scenes and properly rehearsing the scene with apes as actors and finding the beat and rehearsing scenes with the crew standing around waiting to shoot. He would always wait until the moment was right and . . . that  everybody (understood) what that scene was about.” Click on the media bar to hear Serkis talks about the incredible use of CGI in the film, especially when it comes to capturing the apes’ eyes. War for the Planet of the Apes, co-starring Woody Harrelson, opens July 14. Find Us On Facebook: Hollywood Outbreak Follow Us On Twitter: @Hollyoutbreak Posted by: Greg Srisavasdi.....»»
