Jamie Lee Curtis SLAMS Donna Karan & "Brutish Thug" Harvey Weinstein While Talking About Being Sexually Harassed At Work

Hollywood is speaking up amid Harvey Weinstein's sexual harassment and assault scandal! With more and more celebs sharing their own horrifying experiences with the controversial producer, it's opening up a very overdue discussion in the industry. With more and more celebs sharing their own horrifying experiences with the controversial producer, it's opening up a very overdue discussion in the industry. And Jamie Lee Curtis is doing so by slamming the argument that women are "asking for it," one Donna Karan recently given voice once again in defense of the movie mogul. Related: Kate Beckinsale Accuses Harvey Of Hitting On Her When She Was 17 The designer has since apologized, but the actress isn't here for it! In an op-ed piece published on Huffington Post, the star explained her disappointment with Donna -- all without naming her name: "I awoke to a statement, from an unlikely voice, that the women in question were perhaps 'asking for it.' Really? Is this how we have evolved? Is this what the women's movement, feminism and, more recently, the women's march has yielded? A fellow woman, one who makes her living dressing famous women in tight, sexy dresses and one who built her empire to do her good works all over the world, would throw these brave women under the bus in a weird, mean girl version of slut shaming?" Jamie continued, revealing she has been victim to sexual harassment at work: "I, too, have been subjected to my own private, personal versions of sexual harassment on the job. Did I ask for it? No. What I simply asked for was a job, and what came with it was sexual harassment." Furthering her point, she added: "What I believe we are all asking for in these instances, is a chance to show our talent, our humanity, a chance to express ourselves and our art and perhaps, be a part of a film that can truly create change." Using Prince's drug overdose as an example, the Scream Queens actress wondered if a "very famous person" had to die to affect change, like it did with opioid laws. When it comes to Harvey and sexual harassment though, she mused if there would be an end: "Perhaps this grotesque power play to 'get some' by this brutish thug of a man and the attempts by him, his lawyer, his board and famous friends to, once again, keep it under wraps and blame the victim will fail. Perhaps the truth will out other sexual harassment, be it from a governor or a president or a presidential candidate or studio head or movie star or executive or anyone else complicit in this billionaire boys club bullshit that will come to an inglorious end. To quote the great Helen Reddy, 'I am woman hear me roar, in numbers too big to ignore.'" Preach! Let's hope more and more stars continue to speak out! Lisa Bloom Explains Why She"s Advising "Gross" Harvey Weinstein Amid Sexual Harassment Allegations — WATCH HERE!

As we reported, on Thursday, The New York Times published a shocking exposé accusing Harvey Weinstein of "decades of sexual harassment," which has led him to reaching "at least eight settlements with women." While the movie producer released a statement to the newspaper saying he is "remorseful about the people I hurt," his lawyer Charles Harder announced plans for a lawsuit against the Times for publishing "a story that is saturated with false and defamatory statements." On Friday, Bloom appeared on Good Morning America where she explains why she is defending the 65-year-old amid the allegations. While she is not legally representing him in any lawsuit, she acts as his "adviser." Related: Gloria Allred Basically Shades The Fuck Out Of Daughter Host George Stephanopoulos began the interview by saying he is "surprised" that Lisa would stand by the Hollywood mogul given her history with sexual harassment cases. He said: "I have to say I'm surprised you're here this morning. You've been here and represented women who have taken on Bill Cosby and Bill O'Reilly, Donald Trump, sexual-harassment cases. Why did you switch sides in this case?" That's when the lawyer explained: "I've known Harvey for about a year and these rumors have swirled around him for a long time. And I said to him, you know, ‘What's going on? This is not OK.' And Harvey and I had a lot of frank conversations about this and when this New York Times story was about to break and Harvey expressed to me the same remorse that you see now, I said, 'We have to throw out the old playbook, OK? You're not going to be attacking women. You're not going to be disrespecting women. You're not going to be digging up dirt on them and embarrassing them. That's the tired old way to go. If you are genuinely remorseful, say so, admit what you've done wrong, apologize and let's have your actions speak for themselves."' While she admits his "workplace misconduct" is "gross" and "wrong," when asked if his behavior is "sexual harassment," Bloom tiptoed around the term. She said: "I think Harvey acknowledged, yes, there was misconduct over a period of years. He's big, loud guy. People are intimidated by him. I'm not—you know, I'm a big-mouth lawyer myself. I'll stand up to him. But if I'm a 23-year-old in his workplace, of course, they're intimidated." Watch the full interview (below): [Image via ABC News/YouTube.].....»»

Good Friday, where do you want me to start?” Kate joked as Debette. “Women being harassed is Hollywood. Everything old is new again. Producers are abusing starlets. We cannot blame the victims here. A lot of these woman are young, just starting out in their respective fields, and have absolutely no way to stand up to a man with so much influence, much greater than theirs. Reese Witherspoon Bravely Reveals She Was Sexually Assaulted By A Director At 16

Sadly, the industry vet has had firsthand experience regarding this issue. As you surely know, countless actresses -- including Gwyneth Paltrow, Angelina Jolie, Ashley Judd, Rose McGowan, etc. -- have come forward this last week to expose indie movie mogul Harvey Weinstein as a sexual predator. While Miz Witherspoon has not declared herself as one of Harvey's victims, she certainly empathizes with their plight as she's been harassed and/or assaulted several times over the course of her career. Related: Courtney Love Warned Women About Harvey YEARS Ago In fact, while giving a speech at Elle's Women in Hollywood event on Monday, the Oscar winner revealed she was only 16 when a director assaulted her. The blonde powerhouse shared: "This has been a really hard week for women in Hollywood, for women all over the world, and a lot of situations and a lot of industries are forced to remember and relive a lot of ugly truths. I have my own experiences that have come back to me very vividly and I find it really hard to sleep, hard to think, hard to communicate a lot of the feelings that I've been having about anxiety, honest, the guilt for not speaking up earlier." It's just so heartbreaking that so many women in the industry have had such unsavory experiences with men in Tinseltown. The Big Little Lies actress continued: "[I feel] true disgust at the director who assaulted me when I was 16 years old and anger at the agents and the producers who made me feel that silence was a condition of my employment... And I wish that I could tell you that was an isolated incident in my career, but sadly it wasn't. I've had multiple experiences of harassment and sexual assault and I don't speak about them very often." How awful. Nonetheless, the many brave women opening up about their experiences with sexual misconduct has inspired Reese to "speak up loudly." After revealing that she feels "less alone" amid the confessions, Witherspoon concluded: "I feel really, really encouraged that there will be a new normal. For the young women in this room, life is going to be different because we're with you, we have your back and it makes me feel better. It makes me so sad to talk about these issues, but I would be remiss not to." Hear! Hear! Like Reese, we stand with the many victims who've bravely come forward. [Image via FayesVision/WENN.].....»»

Following The New York Times' explosive exposé on Harvey Weinstein and claims of his decades of sexual harassment, many are left wondering how this was allowed to go on for so long. Well, it appears as though the boys' club in Hollywood enabled the indie movie mogul's behavior. Related: Model Zoe Brock Details Being "Harveyed" What do we mean exactly?? Apparently, this isn't the first time a piece about Weinstein's gross conduct has been written, as a similar story was drafted back in 2004. The reason it never saw the light of day is because Damon and Crowe allegedly helped Weinstein gut the investigation into a practically nothing piece. Sharon Waxman, founder of The Wrap, made these bold claims in a new story on Sunday. The longtime journalist revealed: "In 2004, I was still a fairly new reporter at The New York Times when I got the green light to look into oft-repeated allegations of sexual misconduct by Weinstein. It was believed that many occurred in Europe during festivals and other business trips there. I traveled to Rome and tracked down the man who held the plum position of running Miramax Italy. According to multiple accounts, he had no film experience and his real job was to take care of Weinstein's women needs, among other things." Ew. We're sure that job must've been a literal nightmare. She continued: "As head of Miramax Italy in 2003 and 2004, Fabrizio Lombardo was paid $400,000 for less than a year of employment... I had people on the record telling me Lombardo knew nothing about film, and others citing evenings he organized with Russian escorts." At the time, Lombardo denied the allegations about his job responsibilities AND "declined to comment on the circumstances of his leaving Miramax." Nonetheless, Waxman tracked down a London-based woman who had been paid off following an "unwanted sexual encounter with Weinstein." While the unnamed woman was too scared to comment on the harassment because of the non-disclosure agreement she signed, evidence of a pay off was supplied. Despite all of this evidence, Sharon's initial report of the situation never ran -- and here's where Damon and Crowe come in. Waxman relayed: "After intense pressure from Weinstein, which included having Matt Damon and Russell Crowe call me directly to vouch for Lombardo and unknown discussions well above my head at the Times, the story was gutted. I was told at the time that Weinstein had visited the newsroom in person to make his displeasure known. I knew he was a major advertiser in the Times, and that he was a powerful person overall." Still, the Times had a journalistic responsibility to publish the story, right? Wrong. The businesswoman added: "The story was stripped of any reference to sexual favors or coercion and buried on the inside of the Culture section, an obscure story about Miramax firing an Italian executive. Who cared? The Times' then-culture editor Jon Landman, now an editor-at-large for Bloomberg, thought the story was unimportant, asking me why it mattered." How awful. And shame on anyone who would help enable Harvey's predatory ways. We're just glad that people are speaking out now. [Image via WENN.].....»»

Molly Ringwald Describes YEARS Of Sexual Harassment By "All The Other Harvey Weinsteins"

Molly Ringwald is speaking her truth about working in the industry and facing years of sexual harassment! She recalled [...] Molly Ringwald is speaking her truth about working in the industry and facing years of sexual harassment! In an op-ed essay written for The New Yorker titled All The Other Harvey Weinsteins, the actress described several horrifying experiences, along with her own interactions of working with Harvey Weinstein on the 1990 film Strike It Rich. She recalled cringe-worthy conversations and tasteless decisions, but made it clear he wasn't the only predator she's ever encountered. Related: This Is How Carrie Fisher Reacted When She Found Out Her Friend Was Sexually Assaulted! The Sixteen Candles starlet spilled: "When I was thirteen, a fifty-year-old crew member told me that he would teach me to dance, and then proceeded to push against me with an erection. When I was fourteen, a married film director stuck his tongue in my mouth on set. At a time when I was trying to figure out what it meant to become a sexually viable young woman, at every turn some older guy tried to help speed up the process. And all this went on despite my having very protective parents who did their best to shield me. I shudder to think of what would have happened had I not had them." And it only continued as she grew older! Molly also described the shock of one particularly sickening audition: "In my twenties, I was blindsided during an audition, when I was asked by the director, in a somewhat rhetorical manner, to let the lead actor put a dog collar around my neck. This was not even remotely in the pages I had studied; I could not even fathom how it made sense in the story. The actor was a friend of mine, and I looked in his eyes with panic. He looked back at me with an 'I'm really sorry' expression on his face as his hands reached out toward my neck. I don't even know if the collar ever made it on me, because that's the closest I've had to an out-of-body experience. I'd like to think that I just walked out, but, more than likely, there's an old VHS tape, disintegrating in a drawer somewhere, of me trying to remember lines with a dog collar around my neck in front of a young man I once had a crush on. I sobbed in the parking lot, and when I got home and called my agent to tell him what happened, he laughed and said, 'Well, I guess that's one for the memoirs. . . .' I fired him and moved to Paris not long after." While the actress didn't name any names, she did make one very clear when she recalled a major studio head sharing a disgusting quote about her in an interview: "The magazine Movieline decided to feature me on its cover, I guess because anyone who leaves Hollywood after having success seems intriguing on some level. In that article, the head of a major studio—and, incidentally, someone who claims himself to be horrified by the Harvey allegations—was quoted as saying, 'I wouldn't know [Molly Ringwald] if she sat on my face.' I was twenty-four at the time. Maybe he was misquoted. If he ever sent a note of apology, it must have gotten lost in the mail." Jeffrey Katzenberg, who has recently condemned Harvey's actions, calling him a "monster," said those exact words about the starlet in a 1995 Movieline interview. That's fucked up!! But as Molly explained, women weren't taken seriously if they did speak up about facing sexual harassment or assault: "I never talked about these things publicly because, as a woman, it has always felt like I may as well have been talking about the weather. Stories like these have never been taken seriously. Women are shamed, told they are uptight, nasty, bitter, can't take a joke, are too sensitive. And the men? Well, if they're lucky, they might get elected President." You can read her essay in its powerful entirety HERE! [Image via Ivan Nikolov/WENN.].....»»
