The 35-year-old actress talked to Jimmy about two psychics she went to for life advice – one more recently, and another back in 2008 – and how Gloria Estefan helped her land her gig on Saturday Night Live. “She was like ‘You should do a one-woman show and you’ll be given the big stage,’” Jenny recalled about the 2008 psychic’s advice. “And I was like ‘Ooh!’ I’m imagining like a castle with a huge stage where the town comes and sees me eat my lunch or something. But then I ended up doing a one-woman show that took place at my funeral if I died as an eccentric millionaire. I was smoking a ton of weed at the time. I did the show and one of the people I was fixated on was Gloria Estefan.” In any case, the one-woman show ended up getting a visit from a Saturday Night Live scout and landed Jenny a spot in the cast from 2009 to 2010. Last year, the Landline thespian became tabloid fodder when she started dating her Gifted costar Chris Evans. The two eventually called it quits in February of this year. Related: Jenny Slate Calls Ivanka Trump 'A Fake Feminist' In the publication, the 35-year-old says she feels oppressed by gossip blogs, and believes the entire system is sexist! "For me, it connects to a very deep-seated belief within a patriarchal system... If you're a woman, the system actually owns your private life; the system has an opinion on your decisions; the system has a verdict on how you have sex and who you have sex with, and anything in between. For me, I am not open to that." We respectfully disagree! Additionally, the funny lady doesn't believe in using social media to confirm or deny rumors! "No, I have more of an urge to get on Twitter and be like, 'I just pooped like Okja,' than to be like, 'Yes, it's true, I'm dating so-and-so.' How much of an asshole would I have to be to assume that anyone gives a shit, a true shit, that I say the information? What they like is the gossip. What they like is the uncertainty and conjecture and all of that. What I like is my privacy and to be able to just do whatever I fucking want and kiss whoever I want in my own time because I'm a woman in 2017."' Jenny has some STRONG opinions! The Emoji Movie Is An Appalling Pile Of 💩! See What Critics Are Saying About Sony"s Cash Grab!

Like it or not, we have become a society of smartphone addicts — and we pay for it with 💩 like this is! But based on the reviews, the [...] Like it or not, we have become a society of smartphone addicts -- and we pay for it with 💩 like this is! No one was expecting The Emoji Movie to be a masterpiece after learning it would follow defunct emojis trying to break out of a universe inside our smartphones. But based on the reviews, the Sony Animation film is far worse than it's main character, "Meh" (voiced by T.J. Miller) -- and was actually better described as the throw-away character "Poop" (voiced by Sir Patrick Stewart). Photos: These Celebs Totally Look Like Emojis! Critics were not only diss-app-ointed by the story (which most described as a cheap rip-off of Inside Out), but the amount of product placement was enough to make any theater goer look like 😡. Though we're sure kids will LOVE special appearances by YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Spotify, the Sony-owned Crackle app, and of course... DropBox! See the 😞 review roundup (below) to get a better idea of why this film scored a dismal 3% on Rotten Tomatoes -- and, if you dare, see The Emoji Movie in theaters now! Jordan Hoffman, NY Daily News: "This failed attempt to create a story from a texting trend makes the worst comic book adaptation look like Shakespeare. The script is entirely predictable despite making absolutely no sense. It not only fails to entertain, it will leave you 😡." John DeFore, The Hollywood Reporter: " It is fast and colorful enough to attract young kids, but offers nearly nothing to their parents. If only this smartphone-centric dud, so happy to hawk real-world apps to its audience, could have done the same in its release strategy — coming out via Snapchat, where it would vanish shortly after arrival. But even that wouldn't be fast enough." Owen Gleiberman, Variety: "The cartoon ideograms from your smartphone get their own animated adventure, but do they deserve it? Actually, they deserve better than this witless Inside Out knockoff." Matt Singer, ScreenCrush: "No animated movie outside the Cars franchise has raised more logistical questions about its strange setting than The Emoji Movie. Here is just one question I had: In one scene, Poop (and his son!) exit a restroom stall. When a sentient poop uses a toilet, what do they excrete? What is in a poop's poop? On second thought, don't tell me." Emily Yoshida, Vulture: "In the mock tradition of countless superior Pixar films before it, it's attempting to sell a sense of childlike wonder and fascination with an ordinary, everyday object: your smartphone. And in doing so, it is one of the darkest, most dismaying films I have ever seen, much less one ostensibly made for children." Glenn Kenny, The New York Times: "For a long time, Hollywood has been propagating the idea that the panderingly, trendily idiotic can be made to seem less so, by polishing it up with bright shiny gloss and enlisting engaging talented performers and writers. I can't be entirely certain of this, but I would say The Emoji Movie takes this notion to the outer limits of credibility." Lindsay Bahr, The Associated Press: "If you're worried about whether or not this is some big smartphone advertisement, it only kind of is. There's a whole journey through the Spotify app, and they have to get through a dance competition in the Just Dance app to get where they're going, and there is a line that seems to have been written by marketing folks about how illegal malware can't get into the protected DropBox app. Oh and while it's not mentioned, the Sony-owned Crackle app is always on Alex's home screen." Alissa Wilkinson, Vox: "Most likely, it was going to be a garbage fire. And now that I've seen it, I can confirm that suspicion: The Emoji Movie is a waste of time, resources, and a bunch of comedians' voices, plus a premise that actually had the potential to do some small good in the world. It's less of a movie and more of an insult." David Elrich, IndieWire: "How exciting to enter a film world in which all of the characters literally just tell us who they are over and over and over again like they're not physical manifestations of the feelings that define them! The brilliant Maya Rudolph adds all sorts of passive-aggressive texture to Smiler, the homicidal smiley face who lords over this place, it's just too bad that every single one of her lines is some variation of 'can't you see how happy I am?' Yes, yes we can. Your body is a giant smile with legs." Vadmi Rizov, A.V. Club: "Central character Gene (T.J. Miller), the inexplicably named "meh" emoji, must go on a journey of self-discovery and learn to accept himself, which chimes with [director Tony Leondis's] own childhood, growing up gay in a religious household... After viewing the final product, Miller's reasoning for making the movie sounds more believable: 'Sony knows we down to get motherfucking paid globally.'" [Image via Sony Pictures.].....»»

First he was banned in China, then he cancelled his tour because of his refound faith and last night he accidentally hit a paparazzo with Ram Truck. The singer was leaving the Saban Theatre at 9:30p in Los Angeles after a faith service with Kourtney Kardashian, who was in her own kar, when the paparazzi surrounded him. As he was pulling out, a paparazzo, who was on the passenger’s side of the car, was clipped by the singer as he tried to turn. The 35-yer-old actress described the incident to host Jimmy as a “not” car accident where she “kissed” a van with her car trying to park for an audition. “If I had thought I had hit it, I would’ve said something. I heard some honking and suddenly a lady busted out and was already yelling at me. I was like, ‘I’m uncomfortable,’ I’m uncomfortable because I don’t like to be yelled at,” Jenny expressed. “But I was like, ‘why is this worse then when I usually feel bad about being yelled at?’ This lady wasn’t wearing any pants. No slacks at all, she came out of that van with a shirt and that was all. So I was like no pants, we’re not going to connect. She said, ‘you hit my car because you’re a snitch for the police.’” Jenny also promoted her upcoming film Landline, which hits select theaters on Friday (July 21) – Watch the full interview below! The 10 Coolest Vacation Destinations

Thinking about going on vacation but no idea where to go? Then we’ve got some great ideas for you. These destinations aren’t your standard fare but rather places that are up and coming and awesome; you want to go before everybody else gets there and they become just another part of the tourist trail. Bhutan Bhutan’s the country which measures its gross domestic product in happiness rather than in money. It’s also starting to change fast – thanks to the mighty tourist dollar the roads are being transformed from dirt tracks to fully paved expressways. They’re building a lot of new accommodation to enable more budget focused travelers to visit the nation. Worse, the traditional arts are slowly beginning to be eroded in favor of cheap imports from China. If you want to get most from this tiny nation; it’s time to get on a plane before it becomes overrun with backpackers clutching copies of the Lonely Planet. Cuba The time to visit Cuba is now. The hippest tourist destination of them all is going to see huge amounts of change over the next decade. The trade embargo has been lifted and there’s a U.S. Embassy in Havana. Travel to Cuba is now easy and that means that people will soon start arriving in droves. For the moment the beaches are still relatively unspoiled and the cities are still full of their vibrant and exciting architecture but it can’t last – that’s the price of “progress”. See it before everything gets a makeover and Cuba becomes yet another tourist mecca. Colombia The peace pact with FARC fell through and that means there’s a chance that Colombia might soon return to its constant fighting. Yet, the country has improved during the time that the peace process was ongoing and there’s a huge energy to be felt in Colombian cities. They haven’t seen many tourists in Colombia yet and that means there’s still an “old school” vibe to the place where tourists are welcomed rather than resented. Get there before the developers do and you’ll be able to say you saw it first. Quito, Ecuador Some parts of Ecuador are already hip retirement destinations but the capital has generally been passed over by retirees and tourists alike. The city has seen some renovation which is a good thing as it means there’s some good quality but good value hotels and the local restaurant scene has been completely reinvigorated. There’s a buzz about the place which is slowly becoming a meeting point for cultural experiences and awesome night life. Ladakh, India If you need to get away from it all and truly switch off then it’s time to get off the grid in India. Ladakh, India has no Wi-Fi, no TV and no mobile phone signal either. A trip to Ladakh means getting in touch with your spiritual side and seeing how people in the Indus Valley live in a modest but beneficial way. There’s even a decent chance that you might get invited to meet the royal family while you’re there [...].....»»
