NFL Caves To Trump, Will Now FINE Teams & DISCIPLINE Players Who Kneel During Anthem!

At the league's spring meeting in Atlanta on Wednesday, commissioner Roger Goodell announced the team owners had approved a new policy against kneeling during the National Anthem. Related: Aaron Hernandez's Fiancée Reveals She's Pregnant The new policy statement released to the public finds it "unfortunate" that protests "created a false perception among many that thousands of NFL players were unpatriotic." (No, Donald Trump did that by hammering the public with his rhetoric that protest is un-American -- when in fact the opposite is true.) The draconian terms it set sent a very clear message: DO NOT PROTEST ON CAMERA: - all personnel must stand for the anthem or their team will be fined - players can remain in the locker room if they don't wish to stand - personnel who are seen not standing will face "appropriate discipline" You can read the entire policy and its response (below): Statement from NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell pic.twitter.com/1Vn7orTo1R — NFL (@NFL) May 23, 2018 The NFL Players Association responded quickly, posting an official statement on Twitter calling the ruling out as an about-face from what they'd been told: pic.twitter.com/3FvuGyy4tA — NFLPA (@NFLPA) May 23, 2018 Others, including Jemele Hill, who infamously got pulled from the air on ESPN after pressure from Trump, had some thoughts on the new ruling: I’m very curious to see how many NFL players will be on the field for the anthem that first NFL weekend. — Jemele Hill (@jemelehill) May 23, 2018 The NFL is 80% black. Imagine if they all sat out a Sunday or two... — Travon Free (@Travon) May 23, 2018 I wonder what happens if the NFL players figure out a way to protest while standing up. pic.twitter.com/tXLZisJ5qO — Neuro Polarbear (@NeuroPolarbear) May 23, 2018 If the NFL is really wanting to address their image problem they should begin with the murders & assaults. Donald Trump VS The NFL — Everything You Need To Know!

What could the President of the United States of America possibly have to gain by fighting with the NFL?? Well, when you're talking about Donald Trump, there actually are a couple good reasons. (And by "good" we mean horrific.) Let's rewind. Related: Like John Oliver Did Last Night For Megyn Kelly — OUCH! On Friday night, Trump was holding [...] What could the President of the United States of America possibly have to gain by fighting with the NFL?? Well, when you're talking about Donald Trump, there actually are a couple good reasons. (And by "good" we mean horrific.) Let's rewind. Related: Like John Oliver Did Last Night For Megyn Kelly -- OUCH! On Friday night, Trump was holding a rally in Alabama -- yes, our sitting president who has been in office less than a year regularly holds campaign-style rallies to inflate his ego -- in which he made some inflammatory remarks about protesting football players. In short, he said NFL owners should fire the players who kneel during the National Anthem. And he said it in the crudest way: "Wouldn't you love to see one of these NFL owners, when somebody disrespects our flag, to say, ‘Get that son of a bitch off the field right now. Out! He's fired. He's fired!'" Yep. Our president used an expletive in a public speech attacking private citizens who are peacefully protesting. Though he didn't mention Colin Kaepernick by name, he is at the vanguard of this controversy. So his mom responded to the "son of a bitch" comment with an AMAZING quip: Guess that makes me a proud bitch! — Teresa Kaepernick (@B4IleaveU) September 23, 2017 It should be noted in that same speech he also rattled off the opinion that penalties for hitting too hard, installed to protect players from concussions, are "ruining the game." Shortly after this, Golden State Warriors star Stephen Curry was so offended by this (and presumably everything that came before) he decided not to attend the traditional visit by the NBA champs to the White House. In response, Trump officially, publicly disinvited him. CLICK HERE FOR MORE! Guy. Everyone knows you can't un-invite someone after they said they weren't coming! It turns you from a loser into an ANGRY loser. Even middle school student body presidents wouldn't make that mistake. Damn. Or as LeBron James put it: U bum @StephenCurry30 already said he ain't going! So therefore ain't no invite. Going to White House was a great honor until you showed up! — LeBron James (@KingJames) September 23, 2017 Ha! But Trump had moved on from a feud with a specific player. He decided he wanted to take on the entire NFL. On Saturday, Drumpf doubled down: If a player wants the privilege of making millions of dollars in the NFL,or other leagues, he or she should not be allowed to disrespect.... — Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) September 23, 2017 ...our Great American Flag (or Country) and should stand for the National Anthem. If not, YOU'RE FIRED. Find something else to do! — Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) September 23, 2017 If you haven't seen it, longtime sports journalist Bob Costas gave an epic response to this argument, pointing out that peaceful protest and dissent are some of the most patriotic things you can do in a free country. CLICK HERE FOR MORE After NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell said Trump's comments showed an "unfortunate lack of respect for the NFL, our great game and all of our players," Trump responded: Roger Goodell of NFL just put out a statement trying to justify the total disrespect certain players show to our country.Tell them to stand! — Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) September 23, 2017 On Sunday, he actually encouraged his followers to boycott watching the games: If NFL fans refuse to go to games until players stop disrespecting our Flag & Country, you will see change take place fast. Fire or suspend! — Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) September 24, 2017 This is clearly on very shaky ground ethically -- the POTUS directing people to boycott a private American business -- and he's already had a complaint filed against him with the Office of Government Ethics. Oh, and if you're like us and know to look for the tweet from Barack Obama's presidency that proves Trump is being a total hypocrite about this, look no further: President should not be telling the Washington Redskins to change their name-our country has far bigger problems! FOCUS on them, not nonsense — Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) October 8, 2013 Every time. So on Sunday when it came time for football players to stand for the National Anthem, all eyes were on their reactions, which... varied. At latest count more than 200 players league-wide didn't stand for the anthem. Trump's friend Tom Brady doesn't have his back. The Pittsburg Steelers didn't show up on the field at all! CLICK HERE FOR MORE Trump was so unhappy about all this he may even have snuck a lewd gesture onto live TV. You can decide that one for yourself. Trump was undeterred. Obviously. But on Monday morning, he did tweet a clarification, as once again he didn't like being called out as a racist: The issue of kneeling has nothing to do with race. It is about respect for our Country, Flag and National Anthem. NFL must respect this! — Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) September 25, 2017 Except it DOES have to do with race. You can't say the intent of these players has nothing to do with race when they're flat-out saying it's about race. It's about injustice along racial lines, specifically when it comes to police brutality. Police keep getting away with killing unarmed black citizens. But the surge in players kneeling this Sunday was in unity AGAINST Trump's awful comments attacking players and their freedom of speech. We know because THAT'S WHAT THEY'RE SAYING ABOUT IT! And they aren't alone. Many celebrities have come out in support of the protesting. CLICK HERE FOR MORE So with all of this support on the other side, for the NFL, for freedom of speech, for African Americans looking for justice, why would Trump take the position he's taking? Two reasons: 1. His Base We already know by Trump's inability to condemn the neo-Nazis in Charlottesville, equating the white supremacists with those counter-protesting, that Trump is unwilling to go against his base. Let's be honest here. Trump ran on a platform of hate. He painted Mexicans as criminals as he threw his hat in the ring. He regularly fans the flames of Islamophobia. His wall, aside from being completely idiotic, is as xenophobic a policy as we've ever heard. The first time he even dipped his toe into the political world was to declare Obama wasn't really an American. So his core supporters, the ones he's courted from the beginning, are racists. And he can't lose them. They're all he has left. Besides the cowardly Republican party that let him hijack them we mean. 2. Ego Trump KNOWS so much of this is about him. He's the one who is embarrassing and demeaning our country, he's the one making us all look bad, he's the one emboldening Nazis. It's 2017, and we have a Nazi problem! Let that soak in. He's making every problem with our country worse. So as the leader of the United States, he takes it as a personal slight when players kneel during its anthem, when they don't stand for the flag. And we know how he reacts to criticism. And he's petty enough to start a war with an organization like the NFL over it. So there you go. [Image via Instagram.].....»»

Related: Athletes Are Making Trump Look Like A Fuckin' Idiot We sort of knew some type of major protests were coming today after Trump's insane and inappropriate comments over the past few days, but this one was particularly poignant and we're proud of the Steelers for exercising their Constitutional rights to protest non-violently! Steelers coach Mike Tomlin had this to say about it before the game (below): "We're not participating in the anthem today. Not to be disrespectful to the anthem, to remove ourselves from the circumstance. People shouldn't have to choose. If a guy wants to go about his normal business and participate in the anthem, he shouldn't be forced to choose sides. If a guy feels the need to do something, he shouldn't be separated from his teammate who chooses not to. So we're not participating today. That's our decision. We're gonna be 100 percent." Well said. The team took a stance to stay in the tunnel together after President Trump told the NFL to fire players who decide to take a knee during the National Anthem. One player, offensive lineman Alejandro Villanueva who is also a retired Army ranger, decided to stand on the field for the anthem and Roethlisberger wishes he joined him. “I was unable to sleep last night and want to share my thoughts and feelings on our team’s decision to remain in the tunnel for the national anthem yesterday,” Ben wrote in the statement. “The idea was to be unified as a team when so much attention is paid to things dividing our country, but I wish we approached it differently. We did not want to appear divided on the sideline with some standing and some kneeling or sitting.” “As a team, it was not a protest of the flag or the Anthem. I personally don’t believe the anthem is ever the time to make any type of protest. For me, and many others on my team and around the league, it is a tribute to those who commit to serve and protect our country, current and past, especially the ones that made the ultimate sacrifice,” he continued.” “I appreciate the unique diversity in my team and throughout the league and completely support the call for social change and the pursuit of true equality. Moving forward, I hope standing for the anthem shows solidarity as a nation, that we stand united in respect for the people on the front lines protecting our freedom and keeping us safe. God bless those men and women,” Roethlisberger concluded. Villaneuva‘s jerseys have become the top-selling in the NFL this week......»»

As you surely know, POTUS sparked a NFL wide protest on Sunday following his call to "fire and suspend" those players who'd kneel during the National Anthem over racial injustice. In response to Donald's criticisms, many players linked arms and/or kneeled during the Star-Spangled Banner on game day. Related: Pharrell Takes Two Knees During Charlottesville Charity Concert This clearly rattled the Trumpster as he called for a boycott of the NFL AND voiced his disapproval of the protests over and over again. Thus, several key players in the football community have denounced Trump for his disparaging remarks. Even 45's friend Tom was disappointed in Donnie's shade. At first, the Patriots quarterback only alluded to his stance as he took to Instagram on Sunday and posted: Strength. Passion. Love. Brotherhood. Team. Unity. Commitment. Dedication. Determination. Respect. Loyalty. Work. #nflplayerA post shared by Tom Brady (@tombrady) on Sep 24, 2017 at 6:14am PDT Green Bay Packers' Aaron Rodgers shared a similar sentiment as he too shared on IG: #unity #brotherhood #family #dedication #love #A post shared by Aaron Rodgers (@aaronrodgers12) on Sep 24, 2017 at 6:34am PDT However, by Monday, Brady's opinion was far clearer as he noted on the Kirk & Callahan radio show: "I certainly disagree with what [Trump] said. I thought it was just divisive... I just want to support my teammates. I am never one to say, 'Oh, that is wrong. That is right.' I do believe in what I believe in. I believe in bringing people together and respect and love and trust. Those are the values that my parents instilled in me. That is how I try and live every day." Donald's blood must be boiling right now. That girl Roman Polanski met at the party was only 13 if you believe in silly things like the rules. And rules were meant to be broken like underage hymen if you ask Polanski. But most importantly David wants the audience to separate the art from the artist. Lynch must be a hit conversationalist at Beverly Hills dinner parties. “Hitler may have stuck human beings in ovens alive but have you seen his attention detail with watercolor? It’s wunderbar!” Filmmaker David Lynch has thoughts on the “tricky business” of sexual misconduct accusations, specifically the ones posed against fellow Hollywood heavyweights, Louis C.K. and Roman Polanski, and how “what we know about about an artist’s life affect our attitudes about the artist’s work.” “I would hope it doesn’t.” “Louis C.K.’s done a lot of really funny stuff. It would be a shame for people not to experience those things anymore. There are probably thousands and thousands of examples of people who had screwed-up lives and didn’t do the best things but did great work. Roman Polanski: People were writing things about him when he went to Switzerland and got arrested — things like he should be hung. Things get a little out of hand. You feel terrible for anyone who’s been a victim. This subject is tricky business.”“And political correctness came in,” Lynch continued. “I don’t know if that’s a good thing. You can’t make laws to change people.“Transcendental Meditation is the only thing I know of that over time would change people for the good on the deepest level,” Lynch said. Everything is closed in, and people still have strange desires that are not fitting in with today’s life. I feel so bad for those people. Pedophiles: They’re born and they’ve got this sickness that they don’t know how to deal with. Instead of repressing it we need to get people help so no one gets hurt.” I can understand him wanted to defend Louis C.K. but Roman isn’t on that same ship. Louis was just a weirdo most likely into getting off from humiliation. Because what man honestly asks a woman to watch him choke chicken instead of actual intercourse. That’s like opting for a handy instead of a blowie. There’s a hierarchy for the best ways a male can achieve an orgasm and Louis needs to go over the listed chart again because he seems confused. Trump Intimidated NFL Owners To Blackball Colin Kaepernick — See The Evidence!

Colin Kaepernick's lawsuit against the NFL has taken an interesting turn. The former San Francisco 49er began kneeling during the National Anthem to protest police brutality and institutional racism, starting an NFL trend our racist president just couldn't let go. Instead of the peaceful protest leading to an important national conversation, Donald Trump picked it as a pet issue, calling out players as anti-American and ginning up his base with hatred. Related: Trump Suggests NFL Players Who Don't Stand For The National Anthem Should Be DEPORTED! But that wasn't all he did. Kaepernick became a free agent in spring 2018, but despite having a solid year as a QB (beating the likes of Eli Manning in stats) he could not get hired by another team. Kaepernick eventually filed suit, saying the League had conspired to freeze him out, something many fans believed was a no-brainer. But speaking of no-brainers, it now turns out Trump didn't just make the atmosphere worse with tweets and speeches -- he also made private phone calls that helped keep Kaepernick off the field! In a sworn deposition given as part of Kaepernick's grievance, Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones revealed Trump called him and said: "This is a very winning, strong issue for me. Tell everybody, you can't win this one. This one lifts me." It was all about politics for Trump. Something to make him look good with his base. Ugh. As Kaepernick's lawyer Mark Geragos said on the Straight Aim legal podcast on Monday, it was this intimidation that pushed the League to circle the wagons -- with his client on the outside: "The only reason -- and the owners will admit that -- they haven't signed him is they're afraid of Trump, and they've colluded because of Trump." If he straight up called and told owners not to challenge him -- while saying things like they should "get that son of a bitch off the field" who doesn't stand for the anthem -- it sounds like intimidation to us. Especially because it worked -- getting them off the field is exactly what the NFL did, as their new policy forces protesting players to stay in the locker room! Geragos says the recent policy change is more evidence Trump used his political weight to mess with their business: "This substantiates everything we have thought all along and just proves that they colluded. I think clearly the fact that they said [the vote] was unanimous, yet then it startled to trickle down that two of the owners abstained and then another said that he would absorb it, and then another owner called it idiotic and then [Golden State Warriors coach] Steve Kerr called it idiotic, I think it's clear you can use that as a piece of evidence to show that they've colluded.'" Do YOU think Kaepernick has a case?? [Image via Kento Nara/Future Image/WENN/Twitter.].....»»

Dallas Cowboys Join In On The NFL Protest & Donald Trump Once Again Tries To Rain On Their Patriotism

Donald Trump is having a lot of trouble handling the ongoing peaceful protests in the NFL right now. In fact, POTUS wants so badly to control the players kneeling during the National Anthem, he's starting to write his very own narrative about it! On Monday night, Jerry Jones and the Dallas Cowboys served up a big "EFF YOU" to the Big Cheeto by kneeling down on one knee while locking arms right before the National Anthem played. Related: Tom Brady & Aaron Rodgers Support NFL Protests! When the song started, however, Jones and his squad stood up and kept their arms locked. The Cardinals stood arms-locked the whole time. This half-kneel is the craftiest move we've seen from a team so far following Trump's remarks over the weekend, in which he mused that owners should fire players who kneel in protest. Unsurprisingly, Trump was not happy with Jones' response -- and, like any time he feels threatened or emasculated, decided to ignore the facts and claim victory anyway! Early Tuesday morning, the president issued a response to the Cowboys' half-kneel, claiming the act prompted the loudest booing IN THE HISTORY OF BOOING from a football stadium. He tweeted: The booing at the NFL football game last night, when the entire Dallas team dropped to its knees, was loudest I have ever heard. Great anger — Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) September 26, 2017 LOL, really? The loudest you've ever heard? (Where's Sean Spicer when you need him for a "PERIOD."?) Twitter users who were at the game pointed out that there wasn't actually much booing -- not like when the Cardinals scored, at least -- so, Trump then decided to claim victory by pretending the half-kneel was in submission to his POTUS-ness: But while Dallas dropped to its knees as a team, they all stood up for our National Anthem. Big progress being made-we all love our country! — Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) September 26, 2017 What an embarrassment. Don't pretend like the Cowboys were kneeling in solidarity with YOU, Drumpf -- they, like the rest of the league, are kneeling in protest of everything you stand for! Missed the big moment?
