NBC also added that this is the “first complaint about his behavior in the over twenty years he’s been at NBC News, we were also presented with reason to believe this may not have been an isolated incident.” Savannah and Hoda said they had just learned the news this morning. “This is a sad morning at ‘Today’ and NBC News,” Savannah said. “As I’m sure you can understand, we are devastated. I’m heartbroken for Matt. He is my dear, dear colleague.” Lauer, 59, was named as an anchor at the Today show back in January of 1997. Matt Lauer has been terminated from NBC News. Dear Colleagues, On Monday night, we received a detailed complaint from a colleague about inappropriate sexual behavior in the workplace by Matt Lauer. It represented, after serious review, a clear violation of our company’s standards. As a result, we’ve decided to terminate his employment. While it is the first complaint about his behavior in the over twenty years he’s been at NBC News, we were also presented with reason to believe this may not have been an isolated incident. Our highest priority is to create a workplace environment where everyone feels safe and protected, and to ensure that any actions that run counter to our core values are met with consequences, no matter who the offender. We are deeply saddened by this turn of events. But we will face it together as a news organization – and do it in as transparent a manner as we can. To that end, Noah and I will be meeting with as many of you as possible throughout the day today to answer your questions. Andy.....»»

NBC"s Investigation Finds "No Evidence" That Execs Knew About Matt Lauer"s Allegedly Inappropriate Workplace Behavior!

The results of NBC's internal investigation into Matt Lauer's inappropriate workplace behavior are in, and the network apparently found NO evidence of employees complaining about the former Today show host "prior to November 27, 2017." Almost 70 current and former employees were interviewed in the investigation, led by NBCUniversal general counsel Kim Harris, many of whom [...] The results of NBC's internal investigation into Matt Lauer's inappropriate workplace behavior are in, and the network apparently found NO evidence of employees complaining about the former Today show host "prior to November 27, 2017." Almost 70 current and former employees were interviewed in the investigation, led by NBCUniversal general counsel Kim Harris, many of whom reportedly "expressed shock" after reading the reports of Lauer's behavior, "including employees who spent significant amounts of time with" him. Related: New York Attorney General Resigns After Allegations Surface! According to the report, the four women who accused Lauer "confirmed that they did not tell their direct manager or anyone else in a position of authority about their sexual encounters with Lauer." The report added that no one at Today show leadership or News HR said they received a complaint about Lauer's inappropriate workplace behavior, and investigators "did not find any contrary evidence." Those who were interviewed said they were unaware that Lauer "had engaged in sexual activity with other employees." While many admitted they "heard or read rumors about Lauer's personal life... and the possibility of extramarital affairs," the interviewees apparently assumed that "the rumored extramarital affairs were with women outside of the Company." Even though Lauer was known for being "flirtatious" in the workplace, most witnesses reportedly "had positive things to say about Lauer's demeanor in the workplace." The report stated: "A number of individuals interviewed said that Lauer could be flirtatious, would frequently make jokes, some with sexual overtones, and would openly engage in sexually-oriented banter in the workplace. Several women also credibly described to the investigation team being the subject of what they believed was a sexual overture from Lauer in which he complimented them on their appearance in sexually suggestive ways. According to these women, Lauer did not pursue them further when they deflected or ignored the overture, and they did not experience any retaliation. All these women stated that they did not report this behavior to anyone in a position of authority." While the four complainants didn't officially report the alleged behavior, they "said that they believe former NBC News or Today Show leadership knew or must have known about Lauer's alleged inappropriate sexual behavior in the workplace." Related: Tom Brokaw Vehemently Denies Sexual Misconduct Allegations Current NBC News chairman Andy Lack cleared the air on the issue in a separate message to employees Wednesday morning, noting that the alleged behavior went down at "a time when people were not comfortable coming forward to voice complaints about repugnant behavior." Lack made it clear that going forward, network employees need to be more upfront about the issues they face in the workplace. He wrote: "That is not acceptable. We cannot change the past. What we can do is learn from it, and try to make it right. We have already begun to turn the page to establish a safer and more respectful environment. That requires strong, specific steps in a sustained manner to transform the culture." The report also attempted to clear up the drama surrounding the desk button in Lauer's office. Like Katie Couric recently claimed, it was misreported that the button on Lauer's desk locked his office door. The report claimed that "according to the NBCUniversal facilities team, the button is a commonly available feature in executive offices in multiple NBCUniversal facilities to provide an efficient way to close the door without getting up from the desk. The button releases a magnet that holds the door open. It does not lock the door from the inside." Not every NBC News employee is happy with Lauer's spotless report card, however. Multiple staffers spoke to The Hollywood Reporter saying they felt that the probe should have been outsourced, as an internal investigation might not be taken as seriously. But nevermind what Ann Curry probably thinks -- what do YOU think about these results, Perezious Readers!? [Image via Dan Jackman/WENN.].....»»

It’s a proud and storied part of the biz that happens each Spring, and recently the major networks went through the process of deciding which series would be getting the boot and which would be renewed for another season. People with rich personal lives often pick a canceled show to flip their shit over, and this year it was Brooklyn Nine-Nine. I think Chelsea Peretti is a funny chick, but actress Andy Samberg is an annoying chick, and if she was half as funny as she thinks she is, she’d still be shit. I hate that show. And of course it got renewed after fan uproar. Check out the full list of renewed series, via TVbythenumbers, and let us know what needs to go. More Than A Dozen Women Come Forward With Sexual Assault Allegations Against Porn Veteran Ron Jeremy — "He Doesn"t Hear No"

Ron Jeremy is the latest celebrity to be called out for alleged sexual assault. In a new Rolling Stone report, more than a dozen women came forward with accusations of impropriety spanning over 30 years. In a new Rolling Stone report, more than a dozen women came forward with accusations of impropriety spanning over 30 years. Related: Al Franken Accuser Leeann Tweeden Doesn't Want The Senator To Step Down Actress Jennifer Steele claimed the 64-year-old raped her twice, once at a photo shoot and another time at his apartment, in December of 1997. She told the mag of him allegedly cornering her in a bathroom: "He was like, 'I need to look at your ass so I can get hard for the photo shoot.' Then it turned into him basically sticking it in without me knowing it was happening. I said flat-out no. It stopped, but it didn't stop soon enough after I said no ... During the whole photo shoot I was thinking, 'Was I just raped? What the fuck just happened?' [But] by the time the shoot was done, I had it in my head that I had somehow exaggerated it and it was an honest mistake ... He just kinda keeps going and pretends like you didn't say anything." When asked why she didn't report the crime, Steele replied: "I was pretty promiscuous. I was a stripper. I couldn't prove it." Adding: "He hides behind other women's scarlet letters, is what he does. [He] know[s] if someone's a porn star and they say they've been raped, people aren't gonna take it seriously." Another adult performer, Kendra Sunderland, said Jeremy sucked her breasts without permission at a Dallas expo in 2015: "People expect this from him. If I went and got mad on Twitter, people would say, 'That's Ron.' But if I said a fan did it, they'd say 'That's not OK, that's crossing a line.'" As you can probably imagine, it's very difficult for sex workers to come forward with their stories considering the stigma and gray areas that are involved when it comes to being in the adult entertainment industry. Not to mention, sex workers who come forward are "likely to be blamed or disbelieved by law enforcement." With that said, Rolling Stone spoke with several people in the industry who said Jeremy's behavior is not standard. Popular performer Julia Ann said: "I think Ron is an anomaly, and you'd be hard-pressed to say there's any other person who's been able to publicly sexually harass or assault people and get away with it. It's one thing for someone to do it in their hotel room or their condo or their office or their car, but he can do it in the middle of a convention ... When there are dollar signs involved, the lines [of consent] actually get drawn much more distinctly." In 2003, Jeremy was investigated for criminal sexual conduct after a fan alleged he held her down and raped her in his Michigan hotel room. Charges were not pressed. Also in 2003, performer Ginger Lynn said Jeremy raped her while they were on location shooting a film in 1983. In 2007, another fan told police the porn star reached inside her bra, pulled out her breast, and signed it without her permission at an expo in Miami. Jeremy told TMZ at the time: "I probably signed about 150 boobs that weekend, all of which I sign 'RJ' with a heart.'" There are just a handful of the many explosive accusations against Ron for years of abuse. Related: Sylvester Stallone Allegations Bring Half-Sister's Rape Claims Back Into The Spotlight In a statement to the magazine in response to the many allegations, Jeremy said in full: "Let me first say, that I'm fully in support of the women and men who have been coming forward about being sexually assaulted. These real predators need to be taken down. My reputation is currently being smeared by these old allegations that have already been investigated and dismissed. However, I understand how social change works, and if my reputation has to get a bit tarnished along the way for the better treatment of women, and men, so be it. I will be there to support all people, men and women, that have bravely come forward to attack this systemic problem. As for the allegations against me, these allegations have been online and in print for quite sometime. This is not new or breaking news. I'm shocked you guys are picking this up after it's been reported on over and over by other publications and has been proven over and over to be false. I have never and would never rape anyone. All serious allegations have been investigated by police and dismissed by judges, as have most of the accusations of "Groping". I have never been charged nor spent one day in court for any of this. And these are old allegations. Check, Anything about me appearing in court or in jail, is public record. I was only arrested 20 years ago when I was fighting for Freedom Of Speech with Hal Freeman. The police who looked into the groping charges have always said that they watch the video from the event or whatever and that I did nothing wrong or illegal. They then ask if I want to press charges against The people making false accusations. I never have. As for the charges of Groping, I say yes, I AM A GROPER. And by groper, I mean I get paid to show up to these shows, events, and photo shoots and touch the people and they touch me. I'm not the young stud I was, but I still draw a crowd. And we are talking about things that are within reason, in front of police officer's and security that are always there as well as the tons of cameras And the general public. But seriously, if you were going to be around Ron Jeremy, wouldn't you assume that I'd be a little bit touchy Feely? Yes. This is what I do for a living. I am not Kevin Spacey, Louis CK, Weinstein, or Cosby. For over 40 years fans and fellow performers pay money and wait in long lines to meet me. They want autographs, pictures, to flirt with me, physically grab me in different areas (usually my clothed penis), they ask me to touch them and many ask to have me sign their boobs. When I take photos with fans and other performers at these conventions, signings or events, I do sometimes kiss people on the lips or the cheek, sign boobs or whatever they want. There is "put on" flirting and touching for the photos. This is exactly what people pay me for at conventions. The female performers flirt and touch too. It's what we do. If you watch these videos that Ginger Banks put out of me "groping," you see that everyone in the videos is laughing and "groping" too. That I'm not running up to them, they come to me. If anyone was ever made to feel uncomfortable by ANY of our interactions, I'm deeply sorry. That was never my intention and it breaks my heart in half. I hope that everyone reading this keeps in mind that I do tons of these conventions and adult signings. I take pictures with about 500,000 people each all over the world and have every year, for 40 years. These touching complaints are the exact same thing everyone else stood in line for. They couldn't be happier. I have never raped anyone. If anyone continues those claims, that is defamation. I will sue them in court. I'm not saying that I never met these people or interacted with them. I don't remember most of them, how could I? I may have seen hundreds people on those days. A girl said that I took her into a back room at a convention? Now this I remember. No one pushed anyone anywhere, she and a girl friend of hers asked if they could come in to the back tent with me. "Back room" was actually a small tent where the performers went to relax and eat crafty. There were seven other people in the small tent including security guard. And we took some sexy photos with each other as people looked on or looked at their phones. If I did anything wrong, that security guard who works for the convention, would have taken me down and called the police. And someone claimed that in hedonism in Jamaica, which is a nudist swingers resort, I tried to massage their leg years ago? Why is this even in an article? I am very happy that the scum bags of the earth are being taken down. They deserve it. But these allegations are pure lies or buyers remorse. In 40 years, I've never been punched by a boyfriend or anyone ever. I have been heartbroken over these allegations. Not because it affects me or my business, I can take that, but because they are lies and there are actual women and men out there Who have been victims of serious sexual assault, and so on, that are trying to get their voices heard. Again, It does bother me that there might be women out there that had some buyers remorse after our interactions. But I did nothing wrong or out of the ordinary for these conventions or events. These events are supposed to be a fun time. That video that Ginger Banks made looks like a pro Ron Jeremy video if you turn off the sound. Everyone in the videos is having fun with me. This really is a non-story. However I'm glad I had a chance to speak my side." Thoughts??? SOUND OFF in the comments (below)! [Image via WENN.].....»»

The claims of the three women date back decades, with allegations of inappropriate behavior and more against the former Entourage star. Related: Brigitte Nielsen Slams Sexual Assault Allegations Against Sylvester Stallone In addition to the women themselves, BuzzFeed spoke to a total of eight other people who all variously confirmed that the women had shared their stories with them at the time, or in the years since, well before these stories had gone to print. That means now eight total women have come forward publicly to accuse Piven of sexual misconduct. Piven's lawyers have vehemently denied the claims outlined in this new article -- just as they did in November -- calling them "works of fiction," and adding that the stories are "conjured up in an opportunistic effort to capitalize on the current media storm in order to obtain attention and/or money." Wow. Related: Smallville Alum Accused Of Being Sex Cult Leader's Right Hand Woman In a written statement for this story, Piven himself added (below): "These allegations, which in one case goes back more than 30 years and the two others more than 20 years ago, are false. As evidenced by the lie detector test I took and passed, I have never forced myself on anyone, nor have I ever exposed myself or restrained anyone against their will. To the contrary, if any woman ever said no, I stopped." He did take a lie detector test, for what it's worth. Piven and his lawyers also threatened BuzzFeed with lawsuits if they published, but, well, here we are. For the specific details outlined by the three new women coming forward, click HERE. Tom Brokaw Vehemently Denies Sexual Misconduct Allegations In SCATHING Email About Accuser Linda Vester!

Tom Brokaw is defending his name. As you surely know, the celebrated journalist has recently been accused of sexual misconduct by a former NBC News colleague Linda Vester. As you surely know, the celebrated journalist has recently been accused of sexual misconduct by a former NBC News colleague Linda Vester. For an in depth interview with Variety, the 52-year-old industry vet alleged that the former NBC Nightly News anchor tried to kiss her on two separate occasions, groped her in an NBC conference room, and showed up to her hotel room uninvited. Related: Amy Schumer Gets Candid About An Abusive Ex Since these are particularly troubling claims, especially in the current Me Too/Time's Up era, the 78-year-old legend has since penned a scathing letter rebutting Vester's allegations. The missive, which was sent to a handful of NBC News peers and obtained by The Hollywood Reporter, started off with: "It is 4:00 am on the first day of my new life as an accused predator in the universe of American journalism. I was ambushed and then perp walked across the pages of The Washington Post and Variety as an avatar of male misogyny, taken to the guillotine and stripped of any honor and achievement I had earned in more than a half century of journalism and citizenship. I am angry, hurt and unmoored from what I thought would be the final passage of my life and career, a mix of written and broadcast journalism, philanthropy and participation in environmental and social causes that have always given extra meaning to my life." And this is just the opening paragraph! The longtime newsman continued: "Instead I am facing a long list of grievances from a former colleague who left NBC News angry that she had failed in her pursuit of stardom. She has unleashed a torrent of unsubstantiated criticism and attacks on me more than twenty years after I opened the door for her and a new job at Fox news." Tom went on to BLAST The Washington Post and Variety for giving Linda "a free hand to try to destroy all that [he's] achieved with [his] family, [his] NBC career, [his] writing and [his] citizenship." Brokaw also defended that his family "are stunned and supportive" of him amid this scandal and his "NBC colleagues are bewildered by the claims." Regarding the specifics of Linda's accusation, Tom acknowledged that he did meet with Vester on a couple occasions, but was only ever professional during the meet-ups. In regards to the Linda he knew, he called her "an eager beginner," "filled with office gossip," and "coy." Related: Matt Lauer DENIES Being Aggressive & Abusive On their informal meeting at a New York hotel, Tom relayed: "I should not have gone but I emphatically did not verbally and physically attack her and suggest an affair in language right out of pulp fiction." He further added that he only ever remembers kissing Linda goodbye on the cheek. Per Tom, Linda vocalized being distressed about an affair rumor as she was very Catholic. Still, at another time, the two meet up to discuss career opportunities. In fact, Brokaw says he recommended her to Roger Ailes for Fox after she found limited success at NBC. He snapped: "I am not a perfect person. I've made mistakes, personally and professionally. But as I write this at dawn on the morning after a drive by [sic] shooting by Vester, the Washington Post and Variety, I am stunned by the free ride given a woman with a grudge against NBC News, no distinctive credentials or issue passions while at FOX." Tom went on to accuse Linda of jumping on the Me Too bandwagon for attention, as she could've addressed whatever grievances she had with him directly, rather than be "a character assassin." Tom concluded his note: "I deeply resent the pain and anger she inflicted on my wife, daughters and granddaughters - all women of considerable success and passion about women's rights which they personify in their daily lives and professions. We'll go on as a family that pursues social justice in medical emergency rooms, corporate offices, social therapy, African women's empowerment and journalism. And no one woman's assault can take that away. I am proud of who I am as a husband, father, grandfather, journalist and citizen. Vester, the Washington Post and Variety cannot diminish that. But in this one woman piece of sensational claims they are trying." Oof. Clearly, Tom is shaken up -- but is that because he's innocent or guilty?? On Wednesday, Lauer's (now former) Today show cohost Savannah Guthrie announced that Matt had been fired following a detailed complaint that accused the TV personality of "inappropriate sexual behavior." Man, oh man. Related: Eric Trump Tried To Defend Donald's "Pocahontas" Slur Guthrie started out Wednesday's show by reading a statement from NBC News chairman Andrew Lack: "On Monday night, we received a detailed complaint from a colleague about inappropriate sexual behavior in the workplace by Matt Lauer. It represented, after serious review, a clear violation of our company's standards. As a result, we've decided to terminate his employment. While it is the first complaint about his behavior in the over twenty years he's been at NBC News, we were also presented with reason to believe this may not have been an isolated incident." Intense stuff. Guthrie continued with Lack's announcement: "Our highest priority is to create a workplace environment where everyone feels safe and protected, and to ensure that any actions that run counter to our core values are met with consequences, no matter who the offender. We are deeply saddened by this turn of events. But we will face it together as a news organization – and do it in as transparent a manner as we can. To that end, Noah and I will be meeting with as many of you as possible throughout the day today to answer your questions." Well, that's that. Unsurprisingly, Guthrie was obviously shaken up about Matt's overnight ousting. Still, alongside Hoda Kotb, the celebrated journalist tackled the unsavory news head on. Following the chairman's words, the 45-year-old anchor relayed: "We just learned this moments ago, just this morning. As I'm sure you can imagine, we are devastated and we are still processing all of this. And I will tell you right now, we do not know more than what I just shared with you. But we will be covering this story as reporters, as journalists. I'm sure we will be learning more details in the hours and days to come, and we promise we will share that with you." What a terribly uncomfortable situation this is for the entire NBC News family. She added: "We are heartbroken. I'm heartbroken for Matt – he is my dear, dear friend and my partner, and he has been loved by many, many people here. And I'm heartbroken for the brave colleague who came forward to tell her story, and any other women who have their own stories to tell." Thankfully, Guthrie has since promised to be "transparent" as she plans to continue covering Matt's firing. As for Hoda, she dubbed the current situation a "tough morning," and noted: "It's hard to reconcile with what we are hearing with the man who we know, who walks in this building every single day. We were both woken up with the news, kind of pre-dawn, and we're trying to process it and trying to make sense of it – and it'll take some time for that." So sad.
