I pray to God you never have to experience anything like that man did.” Read all of the tweets below. Dear @LoganPaul, How dare you! You disgust me. I can't believe that so many young people look up to you. So sad. Hopefully this latest video woke them up. You are pure trash. Plain and simple. Suicide is not a joke. Go rot in hell. Ap — Aaron Paul (@aaronpaul_8) January 2, 2018 @LoganPaul You’re an idiot. You’re not raising awareness. You’re mocking. I can’t believe how self-praising your “apology” is. Are you kidding me???????????????????? — Calvin (@calvinstowell) January 2, 2018 Just remember this. Before all the extended community outrage against Logan Paul’s “we found a dead body” video, there was a seemingly uncontested 550-600,000 likes on it. His core audience doesn’t give a fuuuuuuck. Unless youtube does something, this doesn’t hurt him. — Philip DeFranco (@PhillyD) January 2, 2018 Logan Paul is an amoral piece of shit who could not be less deserving of his platform. Fuck. If you need help, the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline is 1-800-273-TALK. — Lauren Duca (@laurenduca) January 2, 2018 I cannot believe how beyond disrespectful this Logan Paul guy is filming and zooming in on a Japanese man who hung himself. So dehumanizing, utterly disgusted. Who in their right minds thinks this is okay? Using it in the thumbnail? Undefendable. — Ross O'Donovan (@RubberNinja) January 2, 2018 Making everyone talk about Logan Paul on Jan 1st 2018 is such a logan Paul thing to do — Darius Benson (@MrLegenDarius) January 2, 2018 Dear Logan Paul, As a mayor, I’ve had to deal with suicide in our community on more than one occasion. It’s horrific, and more education about mental illness and depression is needed, but there was absolutely no reason to use a victim as a prop on your vlog. Please take it down. — Andrew H. Scott (@CommissionerKY) January 2, 2018 Just heard about this Logan Paul crap. What trash. Absolute human trash. It's disgusting that people like that make it to the top of Youtube. It's a shame we have to share a platform with people like this. — the Game Chasers (@thegamechasers) January 2, 2018 Hey Logan Paul, You want to be the first social media billionaire? Gambling and Some Interesting Celebrity Breaks

Gambling is something which is considered a luxury sport. It is a pastime and an occasion for many people to network and grow. Many people have had great fortune through gambling and have become celebrities from rags. However, there have been many other stories which have made rags out of celebrities, too. It’s interesting to know how addicted our role models could be to gamble that they end up earning for gambling, sacrifice, family/relationships for gambling and what-not. So, let’s not waste time and talk about some interesting celebrity stories, which you might not have known. 1. Tiger Woods Well who does not like Tiger Woods and when did Tiger need introductions anyway? But the habit of gambling by Tiger might be unexplored. As per our sources, Tiger was introduced to gambling by Michael Jordan and Charles Barkley. Gambling became an addiction soon when he started hanging out with Michael and Charles a little too much. It is rumored that Tiger has a whopping $1 million limit in most reputable casinos in Vegas. Well, now you know where Tiger’s whopping brand endorsements and high golf contract prices are ending up. Also, Tiger does not believe in playing for smaller amounts and usually takes part in high stakes games of at least $25,000. Tiger highly appreciated his kind of table set up in casinos. The Mansion at MGM Grand Las Vegas is his favorite gambling destination. He has always loved a table for himself that was surrounded by party girls. Gambling and tables surrounded by party girls were one of the prime reasons that cost Tiger a divorce from his wife. Considering the expense of divorce which cost about $750 million and a relationship, gambling was a costly choice made by the famous golfer. 2. Michael Phelps Michael Phelps is one of the greatest swimmers the world has ever known. He is a famous Olympian who has won 28 Olympic medals for his country and has brought so much glory to his country and himself. This is the highest number of Olympic medals any individual has won, which is what has brought the swimmer a peaceful retirement life in his early thirties. He is retired now and is just 32 years of age but has achieved remarkable heights which certainly will define him for a lifetime. But, one lesser known fact or habit of Michael was gambling. He had a habit of not accepting defeat and a ‘try until you win’ attitude, which earned him a lot of success at Olympics. However, this isn’t the case with gambling. If you lose, you continue to lose heavily, and it is all about luck and fortune as the results are not directly proportional to the attempts or efforts. It took loads of time for Michael to understand this and sources say that he was into gambling so much that it sometimes happened for eight straight hours. This problem persisted with Michael during 2012. He was also caught for drinking and driving near a casino in Maryland, where he was probably stressed after a straight eight hours of continuous gambling. His life had become very stressed as he wasn’t used to losing and was desperate to win no matter what it had cost. This kept pushing him to despair. Somehow with the help of his friends and close ones, he came out of the gambling habit and now is leaving a peaceful and comfortable life. 3. Tobey Maguire Tobey the on-screen Spider-Man is as cool and smart in the real life as he is in his movies. He took some tips from a poker player Daniel Negreanu and turned out to make a fortune of $10 million. As per his close friends, tips from Daniel who is a professional poker player helped him make over $10 million. He also participated in a World Series of Poker tournament, which was the time when he encountered Daniel who probably changed his fortune. But, Tobey’s gambling habits got him to a legal hurdle. He, with some of the other influential celebrities like Leonardo DiCaprio and Ben Affleck, were found to be participating in underground poker games, which are considered illegal due to the unaccounted money at stake. In the year, 2011 Tobey faced a lawsuit for organizing an illegal ring of underground poker. He didn’t take a financial loss due to gambling but a lawsuit against the Spider-Man certainly harmed his popularity. But, compared to other celebrities on the list, Tobey certainly gained a lot more than he lost due to gambling! 4. Allen Iverson Allen Iverson is a very famous professional basketball champion. The basketball player has retired now but played 14 seasons in NBA tournaments. Gambling had brought him loads of trouble for which Allen who was nicknamed as ‘The Answer’ had no answers. His case was probably the reverse of Tobey. Allen managed to lose over $200 million through gambling. Yes, you read it right — $200 million — only through gambling. This famous basketball player had received several heights in his career and received contracts of a lifetime from Reebok. However, due to gambling, he had lost a great deal of his money and was in severe debt and literally had to beg his teammates to pay off such a debt. Also, during the end of his career, he lost the lifetime contract from Reebok as his gambling debts and other negative news reports started surfacing. Allen’s wife filed for divorce and a statement by Allen read that he does not even have money to buy a cheeseburger and hence, he cannot afford any alimony. Casinos in Atlantic City and Detroit had banned Allen due to his inability to pay off his debts. This is a true story of a hero to zero only because of gambling! 5. Ben Affleck We had Ben Affleck’s name popping up with Spider-Man Tobey. The ‘Batman’ actor who will be seen in more ‘Justice League’ movies has had his share of gambling issues. His gambling venture... Gambling is something which is considered a luxury sport. It is a pastime and an occasion for many people to network and grow. His gambling venture wasn’t so beneficial as the super hit 2013 movie ‘Runner, Runner’ and is rumored to have been to a rehab center to come outside or quit the habit of gambling. His interest towards gambling is natural as he won the CA State Poker Championship in 2004. He is also fond of the game blackjack. We are not sure of the financials, but Ben was exposed to quite some mental pressure due to gambling. 6. Ray Romano Ray is an actor, stand-up comedian, and is known for the popular TV show, ‘Everybody Loves Raymond.’ He has also received an Emmy award for his role in the hit TV show. He has given his voice for Manny in the ‘Ice Age’ movies. The 60-year-old actor was one of the first actors who began receiving huge paychecks for TV shows. In 2009, he went on to produce a show called ‘Men of a Certain Age.’ The show had a character named ‘Joe’ who was a gambling addict and he tried his best to stay away from it as much as possible. It was a surprise to note that the character of Joe was based on Ray himself, which was something the actor later admitted. Ray still participates in several poker events, but he now knows about his limited skill sets and hopefully is only doing so for fun or as a leisure activity. He isn’t going to casinos now and prefers online poker and similar gambling in smaller amounts. As revealed in the TV series based on Ray himself, he used to seek help from different people anonymously when the gambling debt took over his financial peace. 7. Joe Francis Joe Francis the ever so controversial film producer named for many controversies and publicities. The businessman had been accused by several actresses for casting couch and inappropriate behavior. He is best known for the ‘Girls Gone Wild’ series. Wynn Hotels and others have filed a legal suit against him for unpaid gambling debts. Allegedly or surprisingly, the debt of over $2 million Wynn was given a discount of about 30 percent. 8. John McCain John is a sort of political celebrity in the United States as a senior senator in the state of Arizona. At over 80 years of age, John was a Republican candidate in the 2008 elections against Barack Obama. However, from sources and close friends, it was learned that John had at a time in his life been very addicted to gambling. A stretch of eight hours of gambling and ten hours of poker all are in shame where John had stretched for over 14-16 hours on the table. The extent to which he was attached to gambling was worrying and it certainly affected his choices during his senior senator regime. 9. Charlie Sheen Charlie Sheen has given us many entrepreneurs or trading goals by his role in the very famous movie ‘Wall Street.’ With a bucket of hit films and tremendous fan following, Charlie is one of the most controversial actors that the industry has ever known. He has recently surfaced for non-payment of taxes. He owes over $5 million in taxes which is a huge problem, especially for such a celebrity. He is also known for various other controversies that include drugs, alcohol, women, etc. Now coming to his gambling updates, he is known to be a huge gambling addict as revealed by his former spouse during his divorce case. Charlie was in contact with a bookie even while transporting his wife to the hospital while she was pregnant before the birth of his daughter. Clearly, gambling had gained the highest priority in his life over the welcoming of his own daughter and this certainly weakened his personal family ties. Also, the report exposed that Charlie in his peak lost over $200,000 every week — all thanks to gambling. This surfaced in 2006 and about eight years later, Charlie told his fans and the media that he has overcome gambling and doesn’t do it anymore. But controversies still follow him with tax evasion and non-payment and we hope he loses all of his bad habits soon. 10. Charles Barkley Another basketball player who has lost huge in gambling is Charles Barkley. After retirement, Charlies is working as an analyst in the NBA tournament. The 55-year-old also had been struggling due to gambling. Charles confessed to having lost about $30 million because of his gambling addiction. He also took counseling and then a break for two years from gambling but is a very difficult addiction, he is back to gambling now. Now he admits to gambling in casinos but in a much more controlled, monitored, and restricted manner. You never know, you might have new news story surfacing about a new gambling debt from Charles, as gambling is a galloping enterprise and you are always playing with trouble. Let’s Learn from Celebrities and Let’s Go Gambling Big celebrities have been in huge gambling troubles and it is certainly worthy to learn from their experiences and be as distant as possible from gambling activities. We have seen many stories and there are very few people who have made a fortune from gambling. Most importantly, we must make sure it never becomes a habit and addiction. Addiction to any activity can be very harmful and these celebrities have already experienced these issues. If people at such heights are not spared by a gambling addiction, it is very difficult for us to remain sheltered. So, to end the celebrity gambling league, gambling occasionally isn’t bad, but making it a source of income, or a habit or addiction should be avoided. [Photo Credit: Pixabay].....»»

Who better than to kick off your Halloween celebration than the Mistress of Dark herself, the one and only Elvira! Actress and comedienne Cassandra Peterson, the woman behind the bewitching black dress and the scary, sexy and sassy attitude, took some time to chat with us about how she landed the role that made her a household name, fills us in on her latest projects and dishes about her experiences on RuPaul’s Drag Race and her affinity for drag queens. And, since Halloween’s right around the corner, she lets us in on her favorite candy treat! We promise our interview won’t give you unpleasant dreams! Socialite Life: First off, I have to ask. Is there a painting of you aging in an attic somewhere? Elvira: (Laughs) No, but I should get one! No there isn’t, I don’t know what it is! My outfit is very forgiving…sort of! (Laughs) SL: I’ve seen photos of you as your alter ego, Cassandra, and you still look fantastic. Elvira: Thank you. You know, I don’t know what that is – I have no idea! SL: You’ve become sort of synonymous with Halloween, what have you been up to lately? Elvira: Well, I’ve been working on a bunch of projects. I got involved with a huge convention – it’s going to be kind of the new pop culture convention – it’s probably going to end up being one of the biggest in the world. It’s called Comikaze – it’s called Stan Lee’s Comikaze now – and I’m part owner of that. I’m also working on an independent horror film festival that I just got done with called Elvira’s Horror Hunt. I’m also out there pitching television shows – I have one that’s making the rounds right now and pitching another film. During Halloween, I make appearances all over the country and I head up to Seattle and then Portland. I’m going to be going to Australia soon and then England, so it’s pretty busy right around now. That’s a long answer, huh? SL: I saw that you’ve even got your own wine now. How did that come about? Elvira: Well, I do a lot of merchandising. Over the years, I’ve had my own beer, called Elvira’s Night Brew, and I had my own perfume and all kinds of things. Now I’ve got an Elvira wine (Elvira’s Macabrenet) and an Elvira soda pop – I’m moving into the beverage world! SL: That’s great! So, how does it feel to have so many people dress up like you for Halloween? Elvira: You always have a good time when you’re dressed as Elvira, I gotta say! It feels fantastic! I mean, I love it, it’s very flattering…well, of course it depends on the person who’s doing it. I see a lot of truck driver types doing it and..yeah, not so flattering! But I’m always happy when people dress up as me because I know they’re buying my costume! (You can too, on Elvira’s website!) My favorite things to see, which I consider the sincerest form of flattery, is people tattooing Elvira on themselves. At first, I was kind of shocked, but now I see people by the hundreds literally with Elvira tattoos. That really is the sincerest form of flattery in my book. SL: Do you get people who ask for your autograph on their body and then they get that inked? Elvira: Yeah, a lot of them. I actually got one this morning, who a really fabulous Elvira tattoo on the whole entire side of his body and I signed it and he sent me the pictures of him getting my signature tattooed in across it. SL: Since I’ve been such a fan or yours, I’ve always wanted to know more about how you got started. I know you were a member of The Groundlings. How did improv help you in your career and with the development of characters like Elvira? Elvira: The improv – learning to improvise is absolutely invaluable. I think in any career, especially, of course, if you’re going to be in the limelight and be an actress, celebrity, whatever – it’s invaluable. Even if you’re a person who has to speak in front of people – I actually talked my doctor and my lawyer into taking classes with The Groundlings years ago. (Laughs) They both said, “It was the best thing I ever did!” I did not have the character (of Elvira) developed in The Groundlings but I did have a character that the director of the local television show where I ended up – KHJ – saw me and really liked this character I was doing, which was just sort of a goofy Valley Girl actress and he encouraged me to do that character for the audition – and I did – and I got the audition that way. I also improvised – they gave me a really bad script and I kind of just took off in a different direction because I didn’t see how you could be good reading a really crappy script. So I just went off and improvised and that’s definitely how I got the part. And, after that, I had to come up with the look – and a friend of mine who was an artist drew a picture of what he thought I should look like…so I certainly wouldn’t be doing Elvira now if it wasn’t for The Groundlings and my improvisational background. SL: Did you work with John Paragon (best known as Jambi from Pee Wee’s Playhouse) when you were with (legendary LA-based improv group) The Groundlings? Elvira: When I was in the Groundlings, Phil Hartman, John Paragon and Paul Reubens (a/k/a Pee Wee Herman) were the guys I looked up to. They were my heroes. I worshiped them and became, I feel, like family with all of them. In fact, we spent every Christmas and Thanksgiving and New Year’s together for 20 years. So, John Paragon became my writing partner and he was in Groundlings before I got in there and later, on Movie Macabre, he became my writing partner. We wrote everything together. We wrote the Elvira, Mistress of the Dark movie. we wrote a pilot for CBS called The Elvira Show and we wrote my second movie, Elvira’s Haunted Hills, together. After 21 years, we dissolved our working relationship, but we’re still great friends. And Paul Reubens and Phil Hartman helped me out immensely too. They made all kinds of appearances on my TV show and helped me write things – and Paul actually sang back-up on one of my albums. I remember we recorded it standing in my bathtub because the sound in there was awesome. It was called “Elvira and the Vitones” – it was John Paragon and Paul Reubens. It was really a family. SL: I’ve love Elvira, Mistress of the Dark and I’ve seen it at least a hundred times – and I’m definitely not the only one. Are you surprised that the movie is still a beloved cult classic? Elvira: Thank you! Yeah, I’m happy that it still holds up. It’s funny how many movies I see that I used to worship and then I go to see them again and show my daughter and I watch them and think, Oh my God! What was I seeing in that movie? But I’m happy to say that I think the Elvira movie really does hold up and is as good today as it was when it came out. I’m very proud of that movie. I think it…it reminds me of The Wizard of Oz or something! (Laughs) It’s one of those classics, but a little sick and twisted. SL: One of our favorite scenes in the movie is at the end when you show off your tassel twirling talents! Elvira: Yeah, people didn’t realize I was so talented until they saw that. Tassel twirling is something I learned when I was 14 years old. It’s so bizarre – when other kids were practicing piano, I was standing in front of the mirror learning how to twirl tassels on my boobs! It came in very handy when I was a go-go dancer and later a showgirl. It also happened to come in handy when I was making the movie. I was like. “Hey! I have this special talent, let’s use it!” And so many people ask if I have little motors in there or if it was special effects and I’m like no! It’s just me doing my thing! SL: I’m so jealous that you’ve been a judge on RuPaul’s Drag Race – what was that experience like for you? Elvira: Oh, God! It was fantastic. I love the show first of all. I love RuPaul and I’ve known him for a long, long time, so getting the chance to be a judge on there was one of my dreams and I had a blast! I’m actually judging again on that show that’s coming up soon, RuPaul’s All-Stars Drag Race. I tell you, I could work on that show every week. I loved it. I was sort of raised by wild drag queens and it just feels like home to me over there! (Laughs) I sort of consider myself a drag queen. I really feel like a female drag queen. SL: Was that what attracted you to the show? Elvira: Well, I mean, honestly, from the time I was 14, drag queens taught me everything I know. They taught me how to dress and walk and put my makeup on and do my hair and I just hung out with not just drag queens but gay men my whole life and I really was so influenced by them – and I ended up being Elvira. I think it’s really cool now that drag queens are dressing up as Elvira. I mean, oh my God, it’s coming full circle! SL: I remember you had two drag queens on your reality show, The Search for the Next Elvira. Elvira: Yes. Christian Greenia and Patterson (Lundquist) – and Christian works with me – he was the “Manvira” who was super catty (laughs). He is one of the best Elvira drag queens – I think he is the best that there is because not only can he make himself look better than me – which is really sad, when a man can look better than you – but he knows every nuance, every way I move, every facial expression and every line from everything I’ve ever done. When I can’t remember something, I call him and he can reel off whole scenes from my movies. SL: You scared a lot of people when the reality show was launched. Do you have any plans to retire Elvira? Elvira: No, I don’t really and that’s the funny thing about that show. It really wasn’t meant to replace me, it was meant to have additional Elviras that I could send out to shopping malls across the country and do kind of the lower-scale Elvira appearances but the name The Search for More Elviras didn’t really cut it, so the network insisted on The Search for the Next Elvira which was a little bit catchier but confusing to people. But no, I always have plans to retire, but then I never do! I was going to retire every milestone, every birthday and I just keep going. I don’t now how long it’s going to last – it’s scaring me! But you know, I do try to stay in shape and look good, so that’s kind of a side benefit. I have a feeling that if I quit being Elvira, the next time you’d see me, I’d weigh 300 pounds! (Laughs) SL: Do you have any beauty tips you can share – I’d love to know how you stay looking so great! Elvira: Well, you know, I do live a pretty healthy lifestyle. I was a vegetarian for 13 years, but unfortunately, I kind of fell off the wagon. I eat a mostly vegetarian diet and I do work out 5-7 days a week. I walk, I spin and I do yoga. I stay pretty active. I think that and the mostly vegetarian diet is pretty much what keeps me going. That and a little vodka! (Laughs) SL: You’ve pretty much done everything. Is there something you haven’t done yet that you still want to do? Elvira: Hmmm…my major thing that I want to do is an animated feature of Elvira and move Elvira into being an animated character – so I don’t have to play her anymore! And, although he doesn’t know it yet, Tim Burton’s going to be doing the film! (Laughs) He’ll be surprised when he finds out! SL: Elvira and Tim Burton would be a match made in heaven! Elvira: That would be awesome, wouldn’t it? I actually worked with him when I did a little part in Pee Wee’s Big Adventure. I almost hired him as the director for Mistress of the Dark and Pee Wee hired him out from under me – a little rivalry going there – so the last time I saw him was, God, between 25 and 30 years ago. I just got to see him the other night (at the Frankenweenie premiere) and catch up and that was really cool – and Frankenweenie was awesome! It’s really not a kid’s movie. It’s my favorite thing he’s done since Edward Scissorhands, it’s kind of like a beautiful fairy tale. SL: I saw you on the VH-1 documentary about rock groupies and learned some things I never knew about you. You’ve had such an extensive career and you’ve pretty much done it all. Would you ever consider writing your memoirs? Elvira: Yes. (Laughs) You know, I have been trying to do that for so many years. It’s insane. I always think I’m going to get this chunk of time to do it and then I never do. I did start out writing it the first of the year, and that lasted a couple of months and then I went astray on other projects. That is something I really want to do but I don’t feel like I have enough time to do it. I guess you just have to make time. When you’re writing, you just have to sit down and write. SL: Do you have a special message for your fans? Elvira: Go to Elvira.com and tweet me at @TheRealElvira. I want everybody to have a safe, insane Halloween, as usual! Just Jared had the chance to catch up with the 31-year-old British-Malaysian actor and we put his real life dumpling making skills to the test! This summer, Henry joined Just Jared‘s Jared Eng at the award-winning Taiwanese restaurant Din Tai Fung at the Westfield Mall in Century City, Calif. Henry whipped up a batch of soup dumplings (xiao long bao) and we chatted about Crazy Rich Asians, which is in theaters TODAY! During our exclusive interview, Henry spoke about how he landed the lead role of Nick Young in Crazy Rich Asians, and how he actually had to hastily cut his honeymoon short to screen test for the role! Henry told JJ, “[Director Jon Chu] reached out and it was two questions. He said, ‘Will you read for me?’ I was like, ‘Of course!’ An opportunity like that doesn’t come around very often. And so I taped twice and then they flew me over for a chemistry read with Constance [Wu], I came home, I was on my honeymoon in South Africa where they’re like, ‘We gotta pull you because Warner Bros. wants to–’ They had three people in mind. I was one of them, they had a screen test for all three of us, and then it took them three weeks of decision making to finally come up with an answer.” Click inside to read the full, exclusive interview with Crazy Rich Asians’ Henry Golding… Henry Golding – Full Exclusive Interview JJ: Have you eaten at Din Tai Fung before? HENRY: I come religiously. Because we live in Singapore, around the corner of my house, I can walk to one in less than seven minutes. So me and my wife go a lot actually! JJ: Since you are part Asian, your taste buds must be nuanced. Do you favor one type of Asian Cuisine over another? HENRY: Thai food has been a big, consistent cuisine that we veer toward, then Chinese cuisine but Malaysian cuisine, where I’m from, is so mixed in cultures. There’s the Chinese, Indian, Malay, so it kind of encompasses all sorts of flavors [and] herbs. Singaporean and Malaysian food are some of the best foods in the world. JJ: What’s your favorite Asian food? Non Asian food? HENRY: A proper hearty pad thai. Like, big prawns or nice chunks of meat in there. And nothing beats steak and kidney pie with mashed potatoes and gravy. It’s like my favorite comfort food. JJ: Have you ever cooked pad thai yourself? HENRY: (laughs) We have attempted in the past, and it’s the fact that you have to use a lot of sugar. There’s a tremendous amount of sugar in Asian food and usually when you’re cooking at home, you try to cut down on the salt and sugar intake, so it never tastes the same. We even get tamarind paste to make sure the fish sauce is right, but if you don’t use enough sugar, it just doesn’t have the same taste. (laughs) JJ: So is there a not a healthy version of pad thai that’s really good? HENRY: Not that I’ve come across. I’ve had plenty of disappointing pad thais! JJ: What was it like growing up in Malaysia? HENRY: I was born in Sarawak in Eastern Malaysia, so I’m from a tribal culture where my family would go into the jungle and harvest from the jungle. Or we would have rice fields. Or, one of the big things they grow is pepper and they would pick the pepper berries and dry them and sell them. It was always about running around in the jungle, chasing chickens, my brother bullying me, and finding things to entertain ourselves through the summers. JJ: Did you feel fully Malaysian even though you were half? Were you treated any differently? HENRY: As a kid, you don’t know what race was but I always knew my dad was obviously a white guy. It was only until I moved as a kid to England when I was about 9 or 10-years-old. There was obviously, back in those days, not a lot of immigration so racism was prevalent, especially in outer London. I was called everything under the sun from Ching to Packie to everything! Because kids just don’t understand, especially in those days. And I was like, “Hold on…” That was when I realized I was different, and I was like, “I’m seen as Asian in the UK, but I’m seen as a foreigner back in Malaysia. What are my ancestral roots?” and I chose to be proud of both! But up until now I’ve represented more with my Asian side. I’ve lived in Asia for the past eleven years now. When everybody was like, “That guy’s not Asian, like, he’s half Asian!”, thanks to question of ,“What is the litmus test of being able to claim that you’re Asian or being proud of your ancestry?” Is it the fact that you’re full-blooded but you’ve never been to Asia? Does that discount you as not being Asian enough? Or is it that you’re half-blooded but you’ve grown up in Asia, but genetically you’re not categorized as Asian? So there were so many questions and there’s never a right answer. It’s what you feel as a person, and what you identify with is the most important thing. What you take pride with in and the cultures that you embrace, that’s totally up to you. JJ: You’ve lived in Malaysia and New York. Would you ever live in L.A.? HENRY: Yeah! My wife and I have been thinking about moving here. Singapore at the moment is wonderful, we love it. This would bring me closer to work. Might be a bad thing, might be a good thing. But California seems to have brilliant weather. I’ve been sweating my balls off for the past ten years (laughs) in humidity which is ridiculous. So it would be nice to have this beautiful weather and go outside and be able to wear a jacket, and obviously, there’s a lot of freedom over here. JJ: Are there any Malaysian traditions that you still practice today? HENRY: Every year there’s a festival. It’s mainly for Sarawak, where I’m from, that the tribes celebrate the Gawai which is the end of rice harvest. So once everybody’s done with the rices to ripen, they thrash the rice, pick it up, and then they celebrate for a new year. And that’s how they would distinguish a new year–the harvest of rice was finished. The celebration was to clear the air, clear the spirits, a lot of drinking involved, a lot of merry-making and singing, and it’s still a practice today. They defined it around the end of May/beginning of June. JJ: They always say that birds sort of flock together. Do HAPA people attract other HAPA people? HENRY: I personally have more friends from all the different races, and so it’s not true. My wife’s half as well and so I can’t really get away from that (laughs). She’s Italian-Taiwanese. But I don’t have outrageous amounts of HAPA friends, and even the word HAPA was new to me. Like, we call it the Eur-Asian, but it’s like a Hawaiian word for half and half, well, half-race. JJ: Crazy Rich Asians. Did you get to read the book before you started? Have you been a fan before? HENRY: Mm! So I read the book just before [director Jon Chu] got in contact with me. JJ: How did you first hear about CRA? HENRY: I think it was back in 2013 or something ridiculous when Warner Bros. bought the rights to it and there was a big buzz in the Asian community, especially in Singapore and Asia because it’s about a Singaporean story. A lot of actors and good friends were like, “They’re going to make a massive film out of it! It’s going to be set in Singapore. Kevin Kwan wrote it.” I heard about it and was like, “Aw man, this is amazing!” but I was a presenter at the time so I was like, “Someone’s going to have a fantastic f–king time!” I didn’t even think about it to be me. And then, it wasn’t until the 11th hour that they had to choose the actor to be Nick Young, and [director Jon Chu] had seen literally every male Asian actor. He has this database which is ridiculous–everybody on tape–because everybody submitted for it! It was the catch of the century pretty much, especially for Asians, and my name got passed to him right at the last minute because he still didn’t believe that he had found someone who could represent this character thoughtfully and with realness. He reached out and it was two questions. He said, “Will you read for me?” I was like, “Of course!” An opportunity like that doesn’t come around very often. And so I taped twice and then they flew me over for a chemistry read with Constance (Wu), I came home, I was on my honeymoon in South Africa where they’re like, “We gotta pull you because Warner Bros. wants to–” They had three people in mind. I was one of them, they had a screen test for all three of us, and then it took them three weeks of decision making to finally come up with an answer. JJ: Was there a scene that made you really nervous or really excited to shoot? HENRY: Everything with Michelle [Yeoh] was so exciting. Michelle is like the ultimate hero of everybody growing up, and she’s a fellow Malaysian as well, so it was that much more meaningful. We shared such beautiful and heartfelt scenes together. It really funnels her true drive for why she’s being so mean in the story. So, Michelle. Phenomenal. JJ: Are you friends with any real life crazy rich Asians? HENRY: To be honest, it’s a small community in Singapore and I don’t personally have close friends who are–I know of and are acquaintances with people from rich families. So I don’t have friends who whisk me off on private jets pretty much. I wish sometimes I did, but it’s sadly not the case. JJ: What’s something most people don’t know about Awkwafina? Have you seen her in Ocean’s 8 yet? HENRY: She is (laughs) everything you see on her Instagram – it’s exactly how she is in real life. How she commentates her stories is the exact thought process behind her every day. She’s one of the most entertaining human beings I’ve ever met, and one with such a big heart. I couldn’t speak anymore highly about her. She is blowing up right now! JJ: Do you have a favorite memory of her on set? HENRY: I came out first with Constance Wu for pre-production and slowly other people trickled in. The first to arrive was Nora! And I was like, “Oh you know, I’m going to welcome her. I’m sure she’s like out of place and I know the area really well since I used to live here. So I find out her room and knock on the door. I was like, “Hey! I’m Henry, I’m working on Crazy Rich Asians as well!” and she’s like, “Damn! They got some handsome assistant directors on this show!” (laughs). And I was like, “Oh, no… I’m playing Nick!” And she’s just like “Ohhhh”. (laughs) I’ll never forget that! JJ: Do you have any favorite Asian or Asian American actors and singers? HENRY: John Cho. Back in the day, Jason Scott Lee was the first real Hollywood leading man. He was the lead in so many big Hollywood movies–Enter The Dragon. But John Poseman breaking the boundaries when it comes to casting and acting like in this brilliant film coming out, Searching. And of course, Michelle [Yeoh], man. She’s had such an illustrious career but stayed so grounded and so humble and hardworking throughout the entire period. JJ: Have you always dreamed of becoming an actor? How did you get into presenting? HENRY: Mhm! I always knew that I would love to get into acting at some point. It was always in the back of my head, but I knew it would be at the right mental state or readiness I wanted to have lived and travelled and experienced as much as possible. And then when I was ready mentally I would get into it. And actually 3-4 years ago, I did a little semester and it was like a Meisner technique sort of a crash course. And I was like, “Wow, this year I’m going to dedicate the rest of this year doing some of my shorts and doing some films and stuff, and then I got offered a BBC gig called The Travel Show and I was like, “Well, it looks like fate has some other plans for me.” BBC is like the pinnacle of all journalism, so I was just like, “I’ve got to do this!” JJ: What was your first presenting/hosting gig? HENRY: I moved in 2008 to Malaysia. A show called The Quickie was a live magazine mish-mash of new music, what’s going on in the week, but it was twenty minutes every single night, live. Then I was on ESPN for Football Journalism which is a soccer show which highlighted the week’s football. And then, I started in travel shows with poor casting in Malaysia. I did like four or five seasons of travel shows; New Zealand, Japan, Malaysia, and around Europe. And then, the BBC stuff happened and that was global, and then, Discovery Channel Asia. So I’ve had, like, a good extensive 7-8 years of hosting stuff. JJ: Did you acting agents and managers before Crazy Rich Asians or did you get signed afterwards? HENRY: I got signed afterward, yeah. Right now, especially with open ethnicity being discussed, there’s more chances and that they’re realizing now that people have stories to tell, and that’s what’s more important than being an outrageously handsome guy or the blond haired, blue eyes. That’s not what’s pulling in tickets anymore, it’s about having that je ne sais quoi–that aura that gravitas, and people are finding that elsewhere. Look at Timothee Chamelet–he’s phenomenal! But he’s not the traditionally handsome, tall beefcake kind of dude. But f–k can he act, you know? Stuff like that, I love. JJ: What would you say to an aspiring Asian-American actor or actress who might want to get into the business? HENRY: Put yourself out there. Prepare yourself by being proactive. There’s no use waiting for a role to come when you create a role. Create the stories with your friends. Start, write a script. Don’t wait. That’s what I’ve learned is that you cannot wait on your ass for something to be handed to you. You gotta work for it. You gotta put the idea in front of someone, and for them to say, “Oh s–t, actually this could work!” You never know. So just stay sharp and just be prepared for when it does break. And when it comes, work hard. Opportunities don’t come fast and quick. JJ: Your wife is a presenter as well. Is she on the same track as you, presenting until she is ready to become an actor? Do you think she’ll make a transition to acting as well? HENRY: She’s very happy not being an actor. She did a little bit of acting in Singapore–she didn’t like it. So she’s probably happy for me to do that (laughs)......»»

Courtney Stodden Goes Nude To Promote Surprisingly Good Music

Studden used to fully embrace a Marilyn Monroe vibe and often compared herself to the far inferior nobody from yesteryear. Recently she's started transitioning into a sort of nymphomaniac Wynona Judd (so, Christina Aguilera) as seen in the clip below, but thankfully for her nude pic, she's back to looking like Kirby after inhaling Pamela Anderson. You can hear her, and I really do mean it this time, shitty music below, and if you want to see a tit job that makes Kim Kardashian's look downright luxurious you can hit the NSFEyeballs link. God I love this girl. The post Courtney Stodden Goes Nude To Promote Surprisingly Good Music appeared first on WWTDD - What Would Tyler Durden Do?. A post shared by Ember (@courtneyastodden) on Jul 4, 2018 at 6:25pm PDT   Gotchya. Courtney Stodden does go ass and tit out in a new Instagram pic (link below,) but her music isn’t surprisingly good. It’s great! Gotchya again. It’s an abortion. But I will always have a soft spot for Courtney, because while the Jenndashian might play whores on television, Stodden actually white trash Evita-ed her way into the spotlight by marrying a fifty-one-year-old Doug Hutchison when she was only sixteen. And it worked because she looked like she was sixty. Try as Kylie might to be the biggest slut in the world, she’ll never be able to top Courtney Stodden. And that’s the biggest compliment I’ve handed out on here. Studden used to fully embrace a Marilyn Monroe vibe and often compared herself to the far inferior nobody from yesteryear. When it came to their Paul, they didn't speak about his movie star career -- the first thing they remember is his role as a father to daughter Meadow. Related: Meadow Settled Her Wrongful Death Lawsuit With Porsche His brother Cody told People: "He loved being a dad. He was so proud of her." Paul's father, Paul Walker III, went a step further, saying: "Paul thought the world of her. No father loved a child more than he did Meadow." Awww! For a father to say that and everything... Paul's mother, Cheryl, shared a specific memory of his fatherhood: "He helped Meadow's date pin on his boutonnière and drove them to the dance and picked them up. It was so sweet." Caleb, Paul's other brother, mourned the tragic timing of the loss: "[Meadow] moved back to L.A., he's really excited about it, and then poof, he was gone. He didn't love the spotlight. He had so many other interests in this world that really made him happy." So many good years lost. So many good days. You can read more in the new issue of People out now. As you surely know, the YouTube sensation was hit with an immense amount of backlash when he briefly uploaded a vlog featuring an apparent suicide victim. The since deleted vid had footage of Paul and his friends laughing while examining a dead body in Japan's Aokigahara forest. Related: Logan Defends He Is A "Good Guy Who Made A Bad Decision" While the 22-year-old has already made his return to YouTube following the scandal, this is Paul's first video not exclusively about suicide. Logan's first upload was, of course, an apology for his insensitive social media snafu. The next video was a short film all about suicide prevention and awareness. Sadly, the third installment in Logan's return to the video sharing site shows that the Ohio native is back to his annoying antics. At the start of his vid, Logan is dressed as a bearded man who's washed up on a shore. As a voice over described Paul as "the disgraced YouTuber," Logan hit back with: "Yo, hold up—disgrace? What you mean disgrace, boy? I took a break. What other YouTuber you know can take a three-week break and still gain 1 million subscribers?'" Ugh. Don't BRAG about your scandal, bro. Have you learned NOTHING??? Paul went on to poke fun at the aftermath following his January scandal AND even signed a petition for YouTube to delete his channel. Well, it's clear that this kid thinks he's indestructible. One-ball Paul also addresses other controversies, including a $4 million lawsuit he's facing. In order to save face, he once again brought up the fact that he's donating $1 million to suicide prevention organizations. He also added: "No matter how much hate or comments from random strangers…it's noise to me. I will never ever ever forget who I am at my core and no one can make me think I'm something otherwise and as long as I'm learning and improving and getting better as a person then we good." In his conclusion, Paul also acknowledged that he's "a very polarizing dude," thus bound to always face criticism. In fact, he vowed: "I'm not going anywhere... I am not leaving without denting the mother fucking universe." Do you, bro. Be sure to ch-ch-check out Logan's return video for yourself (below): [Image via YouTube.].....»»

Jodie Foster Claims Superhero Flicks Are Destroying the Earth

Also, a string of shitty independent movies when she takes the helm.  The post Jodie Foster Claims Superhero Flicks Are Destroying the Earth appeared first on wwtdd. Jodie Foster might strike you as pretentious. It’s probably that auteur-Yale-bespectacled-lesbian thing. Also, a string of shitty independent movies when she takes the helm. Yet she’s not a woman without talent, or a big brain, so she’s not entirely worth writing off, like, say, 99% of similar people in Hollywood. Foster decided to take a swipe at the endless string of comic book movie blockbusters filling our nation’s theaters in the past decade. An easy target for a takedown. Foster decided to take the annoying, self-serving, and pompous route of attack. The road not less traveled among her peers: “Studios making bad content in order to appeal to the masses and shareholders is like fracking — you get the best return right now but you wreck the earth.” “I feel like I make movies, because there are things I have to say in order to figure out who I am or my place in the world, or for me to evolve as a person.” Fine by me. But you’ve officially lost any high-ground in attacking on Trump being a pompous asshole.  It’s not unusual for artsy people to criticize popular content. In fact, it’s all they really do. Though comparing Captain America movies to hydraulic fracking is obviously overwrought. It means you want special attention for your intellectual criticism. Similar to that bit where you insist you make movies entirely for your own benefit. That’s weird to ask other people to put their money into your self-improvement program. They wouldn’t invest if your plan was Bikram yoga and French classes. Guardians of the Galaxy director James Gunn took exception with Jodie Foster’s characterization, though in a carefully crafted, timid, please-don’t-hurt-me level of retort: For cinema to survive I believe spectacle films NEED to have a vision and heart they traditionally haven’t. And some of us are doing our best to move in that direction. Creating spectacle films that are innovative, humane, and thoughtful is what excites me about this job. In short, my comic book movies are good, but those other guys are creating the crap that Jodie Foster is rightfully complaining about. Smug critics exist because artists are so incredibly fragile of ego that they require criticism to feel comfortable. It’s the same synergy among school yard bullies and weak kids. It’s nature’s self-correction for creating lesser creatures. If guys like James Gunn had the sack to call Jodie Foster an annoying, jealous, self-entitled, twat, who can easily change the channel if she doesn’t like comic book movies, maybe she’d think twice about calling popular movies trash. There used to be a noticeable line between cowardice and deference. No longer. The post Jodie Foster Claims Superhero Flicks Are Destroying the Earth appeared first on wwtdd......»»
