I pray to God you never have to experience anything like that man did.” Read all of the tweets below. Dear @LoganPaul, How dare you! You disgust me. I can't believe that so many young people look up to you. So sad. Hopefully this latest video woke them up. You are pure trash. Plain and simple. Suicide is not a joke. Go rot in hell. Ap — Aaron Paul (@aaronpaul_8) January 2, 2018 @LoganPaul You’re an idiot. You’re not raising awareness. You’re mocking. I can’t believe how self-praising your “apology” is. You don’t deserve the success (views) you have. I pray to God you never have to experience anything like that man did. — Sophie Turner (@SophieT) January 2, 2018 Logan Paul goes to ''suicide forest'': WoAH wE f0UNd ded GuY here!!!!! s0 cRaZy!lEMme jUsT zOom in oN tHis F0r tHe Vl0g OK guYs seRiousLy , lEAve a like if yur sad to0.. — pewdiepie 💰 (@pewdiepie) January 2, 2018 Click inside to read what more people are saying about the video… Logan Paul doesn’t understand that 1 person ends their life every 40 seconds and that suicide is NEVER a joke RT for someone who might need this: SUICIDE HOTLINE: 1-800-273-8255 — Berenabas (@BerenabasG) January 2, 2018 logan paul should’ve stopped filming the body when he realized it was a suicide, but instead he kept zooming in on the body and used it as clickbait, i’m so sick. suicide is a serious issue and trying to use it for views is disturbing and disgusting. — ً (@joliyoongi) January 2, 2018 Excuse me, what the HELL did Logan Paul just do? Are you kidding me???????????????????? — Calvin (@calvinstowell) January 2, 2018 Just remember this. Before all the extended community outrage against Logan Paul’s “we found a dead body” video, there was a seemingly uncontested 550-600,000 likes on it. His core audience doesn’t give a fuuuuuuck. Unless youtube does something, this doesn’t hurt him. — Philip DeFranco (@PhillyD) January 2, 2018 Logan Paul is an amoral piece of shit who could not be less deserving of his platform. Fuck. If you need help, the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline is 1-800-273-TALK. — Lauren Duca (@laurenduca) January 2, 2018 I cannot believe how beyond disrespectful this Logan Paul guy is filming and zooming in on a Japanese man who hung himself. So dehumanizing, utterly disgusted. Who in their right minds thinks this is okay? Using it in the thumbnail? Undefendable. — Ross O'Donovan (@RubberNinja) January 2, 2018 Making everyone talk about Logan Paul on Jan 1st 2018 is such a logan Paul thing to do — Darius Benson (@MrLegenDarius) January 2, 2018 Dear Logan Paul, As a mayor, I’ve had to deal with suicide in our community on more than one occasion. It’s horrific, and more education about mental illness and depression is needed, but there was absolutely no reason to use a victim as a prop on your vlog. Please take it down. — Andrew H. Scott (@CommissionerKY) January 2, 2018 Just heard about this Logan Paul crap. What trash. Absolute human trash. It's disgusting that people like that make it to the top of Youtube. It's a shame we have to share a platform with people like this. — the Game Chasers (@thegamechasers) January 2, 2018 Hey Logan Paul, You want to be the first social media billionaire? Gambling and Some Interesting Celebrity Breaks

Gambling is something which is considered a luxury sport. It is a pastime and an occasion for many people to network and grow. Many people have had great fortune through gambling and have become celebrities from rags. However, there have been many other stories which have made rags out of celebrities, too. It’s interesting to know how addicted our role models could be to gamble that they end up earning for gambling, sacrifice, family/relationships for gambling and what-not. So, let’s not waste time and talk about some interesting celebrity stories, which you might not have known. 1. Tiger Woods Well who does not like Tiger Woods and when did Tiger need introductions anyway? But the habit of gambling by Tiger might be unexplored. As per our sources, Tiger was introduced to gambling by Michael Jordan and Charles Barkley. Gambling became an addiction soon when he started hanging out with Michael and Charles a little too much. It is rumored that Tiger has a whopping $1 million limit in most reputable casinos in Vegas. Well, now you know where Tiger’s whopping brand endorsements and high golf contract prices are ending up. Also, Tiger does not believe in playing for smaller amounts and usually takes part in high stakes games of at least $25,000. Tiger highly appreciated his kind of table set up in casinos. The Mansion at MGM Grand Las Vegas is his favorite gambling destination. He has always loved a table for himself that was surrounded by party girls. Gambling and tables surrounded by party girls were one of the prime reasons that cost Tiger a divorce from his wife. Considering the expense of divorce which cost about $750 million and a relationship, gambling was a costly choice made by the famous golfer. 2. Michael Phelps Michael Phelps is one of the greatest swimmers the world has ever known. He is a famous Olympian who has won 28 Olympic medals for his country and has brought so much glory to his country and himself. This is the highest number of Olympic medals any individual has won, which is what has brought the swimmer a peaceful retirement life in his early thirties. He is retired now and is just 32 years of age but has achieved remarkable heights which certainly will define him for a lifetime. But, one lesser known fact or habit of Michael was gambling. He had a habit of not accepting defeat and a ‘try until you win’ attitude, which earned him a lot of success at Olympics. However, this isn’t the case with gambling. If you lose, you continue to lose heavily, and it is all about luck and fortune as the results are not directly proportional to the attempts or efforts. It took loads of time for Michael to understand this and sources say that he was into gambling so much that it sometimes happened for eight straight hours. This problem persisted with Michael during 2012. He was also caught for drinking and driving near a casino in Maryland, where he was probably stressed after a straight eight hours of continuous gambling. His life had become very stressed as he wasn’t used to losing and was desperate to win no matter what it had cost. This kept pushing him to despair. Somehow with the help of his friends and close ones, he came out of the gambling habit and now is leaving a peaceful and comfortable life. 3. Tobey Maguire Tobey the on-screen Spider-Man is as cool and smart in the real life as he is in his movies. He took some tips from a poker player Daniel Negreanu and turned out to make a fortune of $10 million. As per his close friends, tips from Daniel who is a professional poker player helped him make over $10 million. He also participated in a World Series of Poker tournament, which was the time when he encountered Daniel who probably changed his fortune. But, Tobey’s gambling habits got him to a legal hurdle. He, with some of the other influential celebrities like Leonardo DiCaprio and Ben Affleck, were found to be participating in underground poker games, which are considered illegal due to the unaccounted money at stake. In the year, 2011 Tobey faced a lawsuit for organizing an illegal ring of underground poker. He didn’t take a financial loss due to gambling but a lawsuit against the Spider-Man certainly harmed his popularity. But, compared to other celebrities on the list, Tobey certainly gained a lot more than he lost due to gambling! 4. Allen Iverson Allen Iverson is a very famous professional basketball champion. The basketball player has retired now but played 14 seasons in NBA tournaments. Gambling had brought him loads of trouble for which Allen who was nicknamed as ‘The Answer’ had no answers. His case was probably the reverse of Tobey. Allen managed to lose over $200 million through gambling. Yes, you read it right — $200 million — only through gambling. This famous basketball player had received several heights in his career and received contracts of a lifetime from Reebok. However, due to gambling, he had lost a great deal of his money and was in severe debt and literally had to beg his teammates to pay off such a debt. Also, during the end of his career, he lost the lifetime contract from Reebok as his gambling debts and other negative news reports started surfacing. Allen’s wife filed for divorce and a statement by Allen read that he does not even have money to buy a cheeseburger and hence, he cannot afford any alimony. Casinos in Atlantic City and Detroit had banned Allen due to his inability to pay off his debts. This is a true story of a hero to zero only because of gambling! 5. Ben Affleck We had Ben Affleck’s name popping up with Spider-Man Tobey. The ‘Batman’ actor who will be seen in more ‘Justice League’ movies has had his share of gambling issues. His gambling venture... Gambling is something which is considered a luxury sport. It is a pastime and an occasion for many people to network and grow. His gambling venture wasn’t so beneficial as the super hit 2013 movie ‘Runner, Runner’ and is rumored to have been to a rehab center to come outside or quit the habit of gambling. His interest towards gambling is natural as he won the CA State Poker Championship in 2004. He is also fond of the game blackjack. We are not sure of the financials, but Ben was exposed to quite some mental pressure due to gambling. 6. Ray Romano Ray is an actor, stand-up comedian, and is known for the popular TV show, ‘Everybody Loves Raymond.’ He has also received an Emmy award for his role in the hit TV show. He has given his voice for Manny in the ‘Ice Age’ movies. The 60-year-old actor was one of the first actors who began receiving huge paychecks for TV shows. In 2009, he went on to produce a show called ‘Men of a Certain Age.’ The show had a character named ‘Joe’ who was a gambling addict and he tried his best to stay away from it as much as possible. It was a surprise to note that the character of Joe was based on Ray himself, which was something the actor later admitted. Ray still participates in several poker events, but he now knows about his limited skill sets and hopefully is only doing so for fun or as a leisure activity. He isn’t going to casinos now and prefers online poker and similar gambling in smaller amounts. As revealed in the TV series based on Ray himself, he used to seek help from different people anonymously when the gambling debt took over his financial peace. 7. Joe Francis Joe Francis the ever so controversial film producer named for many controversies and publicities. The businessman had been accused by several actresses for casting couch and inappropriate behavior. He is best known for the ‘Girls Gone Wild’ series. Wynn Hotels and others have filed a legal suit against him for unpaid gambling debts. Allegedly or surprisingly, the debt of over $2 million Wynn was given a discount of about 30 percent. 8. John McCain John is a sort of political celebrity in the United States as a senior senator in the state of Arizona. At over 80 years of age, John was a Republican candidate in the 2008 elections against Barack Obama. However, from sources and close friends, it was learned that John had at a time in his life been very addicted to gambling. A stretch of eight hours of gambling and ten hours of poker all are in shame where John had stretched for over 14-16 hours on the table. The extent to which he was attached to gambling was worrying and it certainly affected his choices during his senior senator regime. 9. Charlie Sheen Charlie Sheen has given us many entrepreneurs or trading goals by his role in the very famous movie ‘Wall Street.’ With a bucket of hit films and tremendous fan following, Charlie is one of the most controversial actors that the industry has ever known. He has recently surfaced for non-payment of taxes. He owes over $5 million in taxes which is a huge problem, especially for such a celebrity. He is also known for various other controversies that include drugs, alcohol, women, etc. Now coming to his gambling updates, he is known to be a huge gambling addict as revealed by his former spouse during his divorce case. Charlie was in contact with a bookie even while transporting his wife to the hospital while she was pregnant before the birth of his daughter. Clearly, gambling had gained the highest priority in his life over the welcoming of his own daughter and this certainly weakened his personal family ties. Also, the report exposed that Charlie in his peak lost over $200,000 every week — all thanks to gambling. This surfaced in 2006 and about eight years later, Charlie told his fans and the media that he has overcome gambling and doesn’t do it anymore. But controversies still follow him with tax evasion and non-payment and we hope he loses all of his bad habits soon. 10. Charles Barkley Another basketball player who has lost huge in gambling is Charles Barkley. After retirement, Charlies is working as an analyst in the NBA tournament. The 55-year-old also had been struggling due to gambling. Charles confessed to having lost about $30 million because of his gambling addiction. He also took counseling and then a break for two years from gambling but is a very difficult addiction, he is back to gambling now. Now he admits to gambling in casinos but in a much more controlled, monitored, and restricted manner. You never know, you might have new news story surfacing about a new gambling debt from Charles, as gambling is a galloping enterprise and you are always playing with trouble. Let’s Learn from Celebrities and Let’s Go Gambling Big celebrities have been in huge gambling troubles and it is certainly worthy to learn from their experiences and be as distant as possible from gambling activities. We have seen many stories and there are very few people who have made a fortune from gambling. Most importantly, we must make sure it never becomes a habit and addiction. Addiction to any activity can be very harmful and these celebrities have already experienced these issues. If people at such heights are not spared by a gambling addiction, it is very difficult for us to remain sheltered. So, to end the celebrity gambling league, gambling occasionally isn’t bad, but making it a source of income, or a habit or addiction should be avoided. [Photo Credit: Pixabay].....»»

As you surely know, the YouTube sensation was hit with an immense amount of backlash when he briefly uploaded a vlog featuring an apparent suicide victim. The since deleted vid had footage of Paul and his friends laughing while examining a dead body in Japan's Aokigahara forest. Related: Logan Defends He Is A "Good Guy Who Made A Bad Decision" While the 22-year-old has already made his return to YouTube following the scandal, this is Paul's first video not exclusively about suicide. Logan's first upload was, of course, an apology for his insensitive social media snafu. The next video was a short film all about suicide prevention and awareness. Sadly, the third installment in Logan's return to the video sharing site shows that the Ohio native is back to his annoying antics. At the start of his vid, Logan is dressed as a bearded man who's washed up on a shore. As a voice over described Paul as "the disgraced YouTuber," Logan hit back with: "Yo, hold up—disgrace? What you mean disgrace, boy? I took a break. What other YouTuber you know can take a three-week break and still gain 1 million subscribers?'" Ugh. Don't BRAG about your scandal, bro. Have you learned NOTHING??? Paul went on to poke fun at the aftermath following his January scandal AND even signed a petition for YouTube to delete his channel. Well, it's clear that this kid thinks he's indestructible. One-ball Paul also addresses other controversies, including a $4 million lawsuit he's facing. In order to save face, he once again brought up the fact that he's donating $1 million to suicide prevention organizations. He also added: "No matter how much hate or comments from random strangers…it's noise to me. I will never ever ever forget who I am at my core and no one can make me think I'm something otherwise and as long as I'm learning and improving and getting better as a person then we good." In his conclusion, Paul also acknowledged that he's "a very polarizing dude," thus bound to always face criticism. In fact, he vowed: "I'm not going anywhere... I am not leaving without denting the mother fucking universe." Do you, bro. Be sure to ch-ch-check out Logan's return video for yourself (below): [Image via YouTube.].....»»

Jodie Foster Claims Superhero Flicks Are Destroying the Earth

Jodie Foster might strike you as pretentious. It's probably that auteur-Yale-bespectabled-lesbian thing. Also, a string of shitty independent movies when she takes the helm.  The post Jodie Foster Claims Superhero Flicks Are Destroying the Earth appeared first on wwtdd. Jodie Foster might strike you as pretentious. It’s probably that auteur-Yale-bespectacled-lesbian thing. Also, a string of shitty independent movies when she takes the helm. Yet she’s not a woman without talent, or a big brain, so she’s not entirely worth writing off, like, say, 99% of similar people in Hollywood. Foster decided to take a swipe at the endless string of comic book movie blockbusters filling our nation’s theaters in the past decade. An easy target for a takedown. Foster decided to take the annoying, self-serving, and pompous route of attack. The road not less traveled among her peers: “Studios making bad content in order to appeal to the masses and shareholders is like fracking — you get the best return right now but you wreck the earth.” “I feel like I make movies, because there are things I have to say in order to figure out who I am or my place in the world, or for me to evolve as a person.” Fine by me. But you’ve officially lost any high-ground in attacking on Trump being a pompous asshole.  It’s not unusual for artsy people to criticize popular content. In fact, it’s all they really do. Though comparing Captain America movies to hydraulic fracking is obviously overwrought. It means you want special attention for your intellectual criticism. Similar to that bit where you insist you make movies entirely for your own benefit. That’s weird to ask other people to put their money into your self-improvement program. They wouldn’t invest if your plan was Bikram yoga and French classes. Guardians of the Galaxy director James Gunn took exception with Jodie Foster’s characterization, though in a carefully crafted, timid, please-don’t-hurt-me level of retort: For cinema to survive I believe spectacle films NEED to have a vision and heart they traditionally haven’t. And some of us are doing our best to move in that direction. Creating spectacle films that are innovative, humane, and thoughtful is what excites me about this job. In short, my comic book movies are good, but those other guys are creating the crap that Jodie Foster is rightfully complaining about. Smug critics exist because artists are so incredibly fragile of ego that they require criticism to feel comfortable. It’s the same synergy among school yard bullies and weak kids. It’s nature’s self-correction for creating lesser creatures. If guys like James Gunn had the sack to call Jodie Foster an annoying, jealous, self-entitled, twat, who can easily change the channel if she doesn’t like comic book movies, maybe she’d think twice about calling popular movies trash. There used to be a noticeable line between cowardice and deference. No longer. The post Jodie Foster Claims Superhero Flicks Are Destroying the Earth appeared first on wwtdd......»»

Family Finance Tricks to Save Money on Insurance

Money is always a cause for concern in life. When you do not seem to have enough of it, you might feel constantly stressed and at the end of your rope. In many cases, people struggle with finances because they are spending too much in other areas. Your monthly insurance payments, for example, might be far higher than they should be. Many people end up paying a lot for insurance when they could pay far less and still see the same level of coverage. If this sounds familiar to you, you might need a bit of help.   Making the right decisions with your life and car insurance policies can have a profound impact on the future of your finances. When you are sick and tired of feeling like you are always struggling to make ends meet and want to have extra cash so that you can treat yourself to something nice, now is an excellent time to look at some of these tips and see how to make a difference for your own future. Shop Around Right away, it is a good idea to make sure you know about all of the options in front of you. A common mistake people make is going with the first option presented to them. A young person who is getting life insurance for the first time, for example, might decide it is in her or his best interests to go with the company that her or his parents used. While this might seem like a good idea at first, it also might not be the most practical.   This company could be a terrible fit for the needs of a different generation. This means you are going to want to really shop around and research all of your possible options before you make your ultimate decision. Get to know what is out there and learn about options like Columbus life insurance to really give yourself a shot at finding a policy that helps you to save money and get the best possible coverage for your needs. Examine Options With life insurance, you could also be spending a lot of money on options you do not actually need. Many people get sucked into options for their plans without really getting a full idea of what these options are, what they cover, or even how they could benefit a family. Eliminating the options that are not serving a direct purpose for your future can be a good idea. Take a moment to look over all of your current policies and see if there are any options you are paying an arm and a leg for that you do not require.   Saving money for your future is all about knowing where to trim the fat out of your budget. While you might need insurance coverage, you do not need to pay a small fortune in order to get the right coverage for you and your family members. Give yourself plenty of time to examine your current insurance policies, the options included, and the costs related to each. Should you realize you are paying more than you should, now is the time to reach out to a better option and discover how you can get started with a brand new policy.     Money is always a cause for concern in life. As you may know, the 45-year-old actor is currently on a press tour for Justice League -- but interviewers would be remiss to not bring up Affleck's connection to the Harvey Weinstein allegations, as well as his own controversial behavior. On Thursday night, the father of three appeared on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, who didn't hesitate to ask Affleck the tough questions about the clear abuse of power against women in the industry. Even though the celeb nervously quipped, "This is a comedy show, correct?" initially, we applaud him for not shying away -- and encouraging everyone to believe the women (and men!) coming forward. Related: The Justice League Reviews Are In When asked specifically about the disgraced producer who helped begin his career, Jennifer Garner's ex said: "You know, for me, it was awful to see the extent of these terrible crimes. It was hideous. I haven't worked for Harvey in more than 15 years, but nonetheless, I felt this attachment. I did movies like Good Will Hunting, Shakespeare in Love and Chasing Amy—early movies that I really loved doing, when I still was totally brand new. And so, it sort of tainted that a little bit to realize while we were having these experiences and making these movies, there were people who were suffering and dealing with awful experiences. I didn't really know what to do with that, you know? It's hard to know." As we reported, the actor has since decided to donate his residual money from Miramax movies to RAINN (Rape, Abuse & Incest National Network) and Film Independent: "I didn't want to sort of cash a check form the guy, and I thought, 'Maybe I can feel OK about it if it's going to a good cause.'" Colbert went on to give Affleck the opportunity to comment on his own allegations of "sexual impropriety" -- to which the Argo star said: "What I was accused of by a woman was of touching her breast while giving her a hug. I don't remember it, but I absolutely apologized for it. I certainly don't think she's lying or making it up. It's just the kind of thing we have to, as men, I think, as we become more aware of this, be really, really mindful of our behavior and hold ourselves accountable and say, 'If I was ever part of the problem, I want to change. I want to be part of the solution.' And to not shy away from these awkward or strange encounters we might have had where we're sort of navigating and not knowing." Referencing a clip that went viral earlier this week, Affleck said: "I just did an interview where somebody asked me a question—it was a serious question, and I kind of felt uncomfortable and didn't know what to say and laughed awkwardly. It's just a tricky thing to try to handle. I think the most important thing to do is to support the voices coming forward, believe them, and create a business where more women are empowered and in place so less of this happens, and so there is a way of reporting this stuff so that people can feel safe doing it." The Oscar winner also acknowledged the privilege he has as a male in the business, explaining: "I thought I had a sense of the scope of the problem and I thought I understood it, and the truth is I really didn't. I didn't understand what it's like to be groped, to be harassed, to be interrupted, talked over, paid less, you know, pushed around, belittled—all the things that women deal with, that for me as a man, I have the privilege of not having to deal with. Part of this, for me, has been listening to people I really care about and love as they tell me stories of stuff that has happened to them—this is men and women—and recognizing it's a real thing. I'm not spokesman. I'm not a superhero. I can't change it by myself. I can just be accountable for myself and my actions." LOUDER FOR THOSE IN THE BACK, BEN!! You can watch the full segment (below): Ben spoke about the same issue on Friday morning with Savannah Guthrie by talking about the current cultural shift because of the courageous #MeToo movement: "It certainly feels like a really important moment. It feels like a time when survivors are finding their voice, and people—and I include include myself in this—are really discovering the terrible extent of this problem here in our country. I certainly don't think it's just limited to Hollywood. But I expect if you see it this prevalent in this industry, it must extend to finance, tech and all those other places, and it's really disturbing. It's also inspiring to see people come forward and assert themselves. That's very moving." As for whether he knew about Harvey's disgusting behavior, the director said: "I knew he was sleazy and kind of a bully, but unfortunately that wasn't that uncommon. I was brand new to Hollywood. I was 24 years old. I had never made a movie. I didn't know much of anything, really. It really is a shame, because although I stopped working with Harvey a long time ago, those movies hold a special place in my heart. To now look back on it and think, 'Gosh, some other people were going through something really ugly, difficult and terrible and disturbing and terrifying while that was happening,' is kind of...I don't know ... The only thing I can think to do is give my residuals from my Harvey movies to a couple of organizations that I think are making a difference, and try to reconcile that. It's a way for me to feel better about that early stage of my career, when I made those movies with him." When Guthrie asked Affleck to set the record straight about Rose McGowan's claim that she told Ben in the past about being attacked by Weinstein, he replied: "I don't really want to get into other people's individual stories, because I feel like those are their stories and they're entitled to tell as much or as little of those as they want. I believe Rose. I support her. I really like and admire her tenacity, and I wish her the best." Related: Jennifer Garner & Casey Affleck Helped Ben Check Into Rehab Ultimately, Ben said he's dedicated to "looking inward" and being accountable for his actions: "That's all you can do, certainly as a man in my position and recognizing how fortunate I am, recognizing the privilege that I have. I'm also really trying to open my eyes and hold myself accountable, because that's all we can really do. It's a lot harder than pointing a finger at everybody else, really asking, 'What have I done that's crossed the line? How can I do better? How can I be more respectful, more inclusive, more mindful of this?' That's the kind of person that I want to be." As for what he would have done differently, the A-lister admitted: "There's plenty of jokes I wouldn't have made, or things I wouldn't have done. It's a time when—and it's happened almost overnight—there's a heightened level of awareness. One of the good things about that is the self-consciousness of, 'How am I fitting into the world here? How are my actions affecting other people? How is this interaction going to leave this person feeling?' It's easy to sort of gloss over that stuff and get self-involved. The hard thing is really, as I said, to be mindful and live in the present moment." Watch his interview on TODAY (below): While we think Ben's past actions are inexcusable, we do appreciate him stepping into the dialogue and acknowledging his wrongdoing head-on, while calling for empowerment of women. These are the tough conversations we should all be having! P.S. to end on a light note, watch Ben reveal that Donald Trump would demand to appear in any movies filmed at his properties (lol) (below)! Youtuber’s 15 Minutes Of Fame Up After Suicide Video

You know you’ve stepped in it when the entire cast of The View and celebrities on Twitter are calling you childish AF. The post Youtuber’s 15 Minutes Of Fame Up After Suicide Video appeared first on wwtdd. Logan Paul, one half of the most viral duo to dominate Youtube since PewDiePie, failed to issue a trigger warning before exploring a woodsy area known for suicides in Aokigahara, Japan. You know you’ve stepped in it when the entire cast of The View and celebrities on Twitter are calling you childish AF. Clearly the side effects an out-of-touch generation watching a video with a title that suggests the exploration of a “suicide forest” and expecting to find meme fodder instead of suicide victims. Aaron Paul, Piers Morgan, and Anna Akana are some of the more notable names on the long list of offended fairies. Racially ambiguous chameleon Chrissy Teigen even chimed in stating a career ruining mob mentality should come second to conversation. She, like every other level-headed person offering a sane solution in this era was met with hostility and backlash. But it was Aaron that won the award for most offended over Logan Paul’s antics channeling the apparition of the most elite aristocrat on her monthly with phrases like “how dare you, you disgust me, and go rot in hell.”  Dear @LoganPaul, When my brother found my sister’s body, he screamed with horror & confusion & grief & tried to save her. That body was a person someone loved. You do not walk into a suicide forest with a camera and claim mental health awareness. — Anna Akana (@AnnaAkana) January 2, 2018 YouTube star Logan Paul is facing backlash after he posted a video of himself and friends finding a hanging body in Japan’s Suicide Forrest. While Paul claimed that the video was supposed to be a “fun vlog” many think that Paul was making light of suicide, which is a serious issue. The original 15-minute video, which was posted on Sunday, December 31, showed Paul and friends traveling through a forest at the base of Japan’s Mount Fuji known as the “Suicide Forest”. The “Suicide Forest” is infamous for the high number of self-inflicted deaths that happen there per year. In the video, the group appears to discover a deceased body hanging from a tree. The most incendiary moment comes when Paul zooms in on the body while police are called. While the man’s face was blurred, the rest of his body was visible Being accused of misogyny and rap flow infringement by FLOBOTS were the peak of his worries until this suicide video situation. Logan was forced to issue an apology. He has a ton of advertisers, a $200,000 vehicle, and mansion sized mortgage payments. This was a case of live by the sword, die by the sword. The same audience on the internet that made him famous also reminded him that he wasn’t untouchable or above trigger warnings.  Dear @LoganPaul, How dare you! You disgust me. I can’t believe that so many young people look up to you. So sad. Hopefully this latest video woke them up. You are pure trash. Plain and simple. Suicide is not a joke. Go rot in hell. But while the trailers do highlight some of the more humorous moments of the film, like Matt Damon, you should all get ready for the transition. The Alexander Payne-directed film does suffer a bit from trying to figure out what it wants to be, much like its central character of Paul Safranek (Matt Damon). The film starts off as a bit of a light comedy with some social commentary as Safranek and his wife Audrey (Kristen Wiig) struggle through their day-to-day life trying to make ends meet. Paul is a people pleaser, often going out of his way for others, and wanting to give his wife what he thinks she desires. Upon reconnecting with a college friend (Jason Sudeikis) who got “small,” Paul is intrigued by the fresh start it seems to have given him and he and Audrey investigate joining Leisureland, one of the top resort establishments where their paltry savings translates to a sizable windfall. The “size” jokes are sly and the actual resizing process is an intriguing visual, but poor Paul hopes for the future he always wanted to give his wife are dashed when she has second thoughts at the last minute, leaving him miniaturized and she skirting off to her family and friends leaving him high and dry. But while the early portion of the film seemed light and bouncy, the remainder is more of a dramatic piece with Paul finding his place in a new world. A downtrodden Paul spends his next year separating from his wife, moving from his luxurious house to an apartment, taking a miserable job in telemarketing after giving up his occupational therapist position in the real world and seemingly wandering adrift in his new world. But his loud and very frank upstairs neighbor Dusan (Christoph Waltz) takes Paul under his wing and introduces him to a new world. It is through this association with Dusan and a number of his associates that Paul begins to start his journey to understanding who he is within the changing world around him. Dusan is a capitalist cad, finding the ways to exploit the downsized world, who also employs a Vietnamese activist named Ngoc Lan Tran (Hong Chou) who was imprisoned and downsized before losing her leg in a human trafficking operation. It’s Paul’s fascination with Ngoc that begins his transformation, first reclaiming a bit of his old self through assisting with her leg, and then being increasingly pulled into her orbit. Through his journey of self-discovery, Paul suffers a few highs and lows, but his hopefulness remains key to the film’s pacing and plot. While there are light moments in Downsizing, it becomes more of a think piece, with Damon’s character thrust into situations we all may eventually face within our own lives. His journey is one worth following and one that will no doubt have the audience questioning how they would handle the same situations, which could be inevitable within our world. Downsizing is part comedy, part social commentary, part wake-up call for our future, which at times is uneven, but is fully worthy following. The film may not be for everyone, but it’s a movie that should make you think and have you talking upon leaving the theater.
