The 49-year-old late-night host revealed that Jay reached out to him following Billy‘s open heart surgery. “Jay and I have made peace. After my son had his operation, he called me and he was very nice,” Jimmy told The Hollywood Reporter’s Awards Chatter podcast. Jimmy and Jay have had a public rivalry, with Jimmy dissing Jay many times during his career. He went on to explain the history behind their beef. “You can’t argue with his success and his longevity. I will say, when I was in high school and college, he was one of my all-time favorite comics. You have to remember how much I love David Letterman. When all that stuff happened, I was just a fan, reading Bill Carter’s book [The Late Shift: Letterman, Leno, and the Network Battle for the Night] and there was a villain and a hero, and Dave was the hero and Jay was the villain. I started off with a negative feeling about it. I sometimes insert myself into situations I have no business inserting myself into,” Jimmy explained......»»

Jay Z Explains Why He & Beyonce Named Their Twins Rumi & Sir

The 47-year-old rapper made the revelation during hosts Elliot Wilson and Brian Miller‘s Rap Radar podcast earlier this week. “Rumi is our favorite poet, so it was for our daughter,” Jay said. “Sir was like, man, come out the gate. He carries himself like that. He just came out, like, Sir.” Jay and Beyonce are also parents to five-year-old Blue Ivy, who rapped a freestyle for one of the bonus tracks on Jay‘s new album, 4:44. “I can’t even listen to that song no more,” Jay shared. “I only listen to her freestyle, and then I’m like, ‘I can’t listen to this.’ … She got the headphones and she climbed on the little stool, and then she just started rapping. I was like, ‘Oh, s–t.’ I have [her full freestyle] on my phone. Five minutes! Five minutes of her doing that.” Click inside to hear what Jay had to say about bringing his family on tour… The family will be hitting the road soon for Jay‘s tour. “I booked the tour for October so I could have at least four months to just really bond and see their fingers and s–t like that,” he explained. “They’ll be with me [on tour] anyway but I’m just saying, like, [I needed] a space where I’m not doing anything. I’m just focused on them. I’m not thinking about a show at night or anything like that. That’s why the tour is so far away from the release of the album.” Jay‘s album was released on June 30, around the same time the twins were born. Check it out here if you missed it......»»

JAY-Z Confirms One Fan Theory About His & Beyoncé"s Twins" Names — But The Other Is Way Off!

Fans have long held theories about how JAY-Z and Beyonce chose the names Rumi Carter and Sir Carter for their twins. But it's only now, two months later, that Jay is finally confirming at least one of the inspirations. Related: Relive Twitter's First Reactions To Beyoncé & JAY-Z's Baby Names! On Friday's Rap Radar podcast, the Smile rapper explained: "Rumi is our favorite poet, so it was for our daughter." That's beautiful. Seeing as that was the only Rumi we knew for a long time, we had kinda guessed that one. But what about the Beyhive's guess that Sir was named after one of Bey's fave makeup artists? Jay's explanation of his son's name does not include Sir John at all. Instead Jay says: "And then Sir was, like, man, come out the gate. He carries himself like that. He just came out, like, Sir." So it was all about his commanding personality? No namesake at all? Damn, sorry, Sir John. And Sir Ben Kingsley. LOLz! Innerestingly, this also tells us that at least Sir for sure was named after the birth, after they had already met him. And here we thought they were keeping the secret for months... Video: Watch Beyoncé Fangirl Over Kendrick Lamar Jay also spilled about how Blue Ivy Carter ended up doing her freestyle rap on his new album 4:44: "She got the headphones and she climbed on the little stool, and then she just started rapping... I was like, 'Oh shit!' I have [the whole thing] on my phone. Five minutes! Five minutes of her doing that." Aww! We love what a proud poppa he is! "She kept doing that 'boom shakalaka, boom shakalaka'. I was like, 'Oh, she understands the concept of a hook.' She's 5, and she understands the concept of a hook." For a rap mogul, that must be better than first steps! [Image via Instagram/TIDAL.].....»»

Jay-Z Says "Kill Jay Z" Song Is Not a Kanye West Diss Track

Tidal just released an hour-long interview with Jay from the Rap Radar podcast and he talks about being upset by Kanye talking about his wife Beyonce and daughter Blue Ivy on stage. “What really hurt me was, you can’t bring my wife and my kids into it,” Jay said. “Like, Kanye is my little brother. He’s talked about me a hundred times, he even made a song called ‘Big Brother.’ We’ve gotten past bigger issues. But you brought my family into it, now it’s a problem.” “You know it’s a problem because me and him would have been talked about it, been resolved our issues,” he added. “And he knows crossed the line, he knows. And I know he knows. Cause we’ve never let this much space go between one of our disagreements and we’ve had many. That’s just who we are.” “He’s an honest person and he’s wrong a lot of times,” Jay continued. “But, the point is — I was getting to a point where, ‘You got hurt by that.’ You can’t get diss somebody by saying you got hurt. That’s the softest diss of all-time. What are you talking about, you sucka ass n***a? You soft as sh*t! It’s not about a Kanye diss. I’m talking about me. When I say, ‘You dropped out of school, you lost your principals,’ I’m not talking about Kanye. I’m talking about me. The whole thing.”.....»»
