Sadly, now we're hearing one from Lupita Nyong'o. Related: All 45+ Women Who Have Accused Harvey Weinstein So Far The Black Panther actress opened up in a lengthy New York Times op-ed on Thursday, in which she says she felt "a flare of rage" in learning how many women had been through what she had: "I had shelved my experience with Harvey far in the recesses of my mind, joining in the conspiracy of silence that has allowed this predator to prowl for so many years. I had felt very much alone when these things happened, and I had blamed myself for a lot of it, quite like many of the other women who have shared their stories. But now that this is being discussed openly, I have not been able to avoid the memories resurfacing. I have felt sick in the pit of my stomach." Here is her story: "I met Harvey Weinstein in 2011 at an awards ceremony in Berlin, while I was still a student at the Yale School of Drama. An intermediary introduced him to me as "the most powerful producer in Hollywood." As an aspiring actress, I was of course eager to meet people in the industry but cautious about strangers, and the intentions of men in general." She asked her dinner companions about Harvey and was given the typical response that he could be "a bully" -- which meant it was better to have him in her corner than against her. Ultimately she says he was somewhat "charming" despite his directness, and that "he didn't alarm" her at first. So when he invited her to watch a screening of a film with his family at his home in Connecticut -- near where she was living in New Haven -- she accepted. Related: Channing Tatum Cuts All Ties With The Weinstein Company His family was actually there, at least. But when they all gathered to watch the film, that's when Harvey pounced: "I settled in for the film, but about 15 minutes in, Harvey came for me, saying he wanted to show me something. I protested that I wanted to finish the film first, but he insisted I go with him, laying down the law as though I too was one of his children." In his home with his children there. Ick. "Harvey led me into a bedroom — his bedroom — and announced that he wanted to give me a massage. I thought he was joking at first. He was not. For the first time since I met him, I felt unsafe. I panicked a little and thought quickly to offer to give him one instead: It would allow me to be in control physically, to know exactly where his hands were at all times... He agreed to this and lay on the bed. I began to massage his back to buy myself time to figure out how to extricate myself from this undesirable situation. Before long he said he wanted to take off his pants. I told him not to do that and informed him that it would make me extremely uncomfortable. He got up anyway to do so and I headed for the door, saying that I was not at all comfortable with that. 'If we're not going to watch the film, I really should head back to school,' I said. I opened the door and stood by the frame. He put his shirt on and again mentioned how stubborn I was. I agreed with an easy laugh, trying to get myself out of the situation safely. I was after all on his premises, and the members of his household, the potential witnesses, were all (strategically, it seems to me now) in a soundproof room." That time, Lupita was able to leave somewhat easily enough. She says she even justified the massage request to herself, though it helped that Harvey had enticed her with the possibility of a job (on an HBO show she later found out was already off the air). But she was still uneasy with Harvey, so when he invited her to a reading of the play version of Finding Neverland, she politely refused -- until he told her she could bring anyone she wanted. She attended with two male friends. Related: Quentin Tarantino Knew Harvey 'Did A Couple Of These Things'! Nothing untoward happened the entire evening, including when a large group went out for dinner and drinks. So the next time he invited her to a screening -- this time of Madonna's film W.E. -- she accepted. "Feeling more confident about the new sense of boundaries that we had established in our last meeting, I attended the screening on my own this time. Afterward, as planned, his male assistant arranged for me to get to the Tribeca Grill, where Harvey would be joining us. I met a female assistant when I arrived there. I was expecting that it would be a group of us, as it had been for the reading, but she informed me it would just be Mr. Weinstein. She would sit with me until he arrived. She seemed on edge, but I could only imagine how stressful it was to work for a man who had so much going on." As with other stories we've heard, the assistant "immediately disappeared" after Harvey arrived. And this time he was direct: "Before the starters arrived, he announced: 'Let's cut to the chase. I have a private room upstairs where we can have the rest of our meal.' I was stunned. I told him I preferred to eat in the restaurant. He told me not to be so naïve. If I wanted to be an actress, then I had to be willing to do this sort of thing. He said he had dated Famous Actress X and Y and look where that had gotten them. I was silent for a while before I mustered up the courage to politely decline his offer. 'You have no idea what you are passing up,' he said. 'With all due respect, I would not be able to sleep at night if I did what you are asking, so I must pass,' I replied." That's when Lupita knew Harvey was through with her; she asked him if they were good and recalls his chilling response: "'I don't know about your career, but you'll be fine,' he said. It felt like both a threat and a reassurance at the same time; of what, I couldn't be sure." Lupita made a vow to herself never to work with Weinstein, a vow she kept when he tried to entice her following her Oscar win for 12 Years A Slave. Related: LAPD Opens Harvey Weinstein Rape Investigation She explains why she's telling her story now -- for all the women who are like she was: "I share all of this now because I know now what I did not know then. I was part of a growing community of women who were secretly dealing with harassment by Harvey Weinstein. But I also did not know that there was a world in which anybody would care about my experience with him. You see, I was entering into a community that Harvey Weinstein had been in, and even shaped, long before I got there. He was one of the first people I met in the industry, and he told me, "This is the way it is." And wherever I looked, everyone seemed to be bracing themselves and dealing with him, unchallenged. I did not know that things could change. I did not know that anybody wanted things to change. So my survival plan was to avoid Harvey and men like him at all costs, and I did not know that I had allies in this." She concludes: "Now that we are speaking, let us never shut up about this kind of thing. I speak up to make certain that this is not the kind of misconduct that deserves a second chance. I speak up to contribute to the end of the conspiracy of silence. Amen, sister. You can read her full op-ed HERE. [Image via Apega/Michael Wright/WENN.].....»»

Emma Thompson Slams "Predator" Harvey Weinstein, Says We"re Dealing With A "Crisis Of Extreme Masculinity"

Topple the patriarchy, Em! We're right there with you! Related: Was TIME Magazine Wrong To Put Harvey On Their New Cover?? The Oscar winner slammed the filmmaker's gross behavior -- and emphasized that he's definitely not the only male exec in the industry abusing his position of power. The 58-year-old explained: "I didn't know about these things, but they don't surprise me at all, and they're endemic to the system. What I find sort of extraordinary is that this man is at the top of a very particular iceberg, you know he's — I don't think you can describe him as a ‘sex addict,' he's a predator. But what he's, as it were, at the top of the ladder of is a system of harassment, and belittling, and bullying, and interference, and what my mother would have referred to in the old days as ‘pestering.' ‘Is he pestering you?' That's the word we used to use in the olden days, if you recall. This has been part of our world, women's world, since time immemorial. So what we need to start talking about is the crisis in masculinity, the crisis of extreme masculinity, which is this sort of behavior, and the fact that it is not only OK, but it also is represented by the most powerful man in the world at the moment." When asked if she thinks there are other men like Harvey out there, Emma replied "of course, many," without hesitation: "Maybe not to that degree. Do they have to all be as bad as him to make it count? Does it only count if you really have done it to loads and loads and loads of woman? Or does it count if you do it to one woman once? I think the latter." She even added her own experience with harassment as she "spent my twenties trying to get old men's tongues out of my mouth." Ugh!! Sad, but unfortunately the reality for so many women. Watch her insightful interview (below)! Robert Rodriguez Says He Cast Rose McGowan In Grindhouse To SPITE Harvey Weinstein — And The Movie Got "Buried" Because Of Her!

But what would have happened if they fought back? Video: Rose McGowan's Powerful Speech At The Detroit Women's Convention According to Robert Rodriguez, he did try to help Rose McGowan beat Harvey's "blacklisting" of her -- by casting her in his Weinstein Company-funded film Grindhouse. In fact, in an official essay for Variety, he reveals the plot of his half of the throwback double feature with Quentin Tarantino was inspired by her story, something he could never talk about before: "I have not previously discussed what I knew about the 1997 incident that Rose suffered in a hotel room during the Sundance Film Festival. I never wanted to do anything that jeopardized a legal settlement she entered into with Harvey Weinstein. Now that she's able to tell her story, I want to provide an account of what I knew, when I knew it, and what I did about it." Rodriguez says he first learned of her "blacklisting" at Cannes in 2005, when she explained to him why she hadn't auditioned for Sin City. She told him the whole story of the assault -- and the subsequent legal action: "Rose told me that all she could do at the time was to get Harvey Weinstein to donate money to an abused women's shelter and in return she had to sign a non-disclosure agreement (NDA) that forbade her from talking about the horrific violation without being sued, and that she shouldn't even be telling me. To add insult to injury, she told me that she was blacklisted from even auditioning for any Weinstein movies." That's when the director got PISSED -- and decided to go renegade: "I then revealed to Rose right then and there that I was about to start writing a movie with Quentin Tarantino, a double feature throwback to 70's exploitation movies, and that if she was interested, I would write her a BAD ASS character and make her one of the leads. I wanted her to have a starring role in a big movie to take her OFF the blacklist, and the best part is that we would have Harvey's new Weinstein Company pay for the whole damn thing." But they got to throw it in Harvey's face sooner than they were expecting: "Just as I finished telling Rose this, I saw Harvey walking around the party! I called Harvey over to our table, and as soon as he got close enough to see that I was sitting with Rose, his face dropped and went ghostly white. I said, "Hey Harvey, this is Rose McGowan. I think she's amazing and really talented and I'm going to cast her in my next movie." Harvey then dribbled all over himself in the most over the top performance I'd ever seen as he gushed, "Oh she's wonderful, oh she's amazing, oh she's fantastic, oh she's so talented… You two should definitely work together." And then he skittered off. I knew right then that every word Rose told me was true, you could see it all over his face." They made the film, a star-studded, strangely meta movie that played like two '70s B movies, complete with fake trailers for other movies made by friends like Eli Roth and Edgar Wright. It was crazy and long and ahead of its time -- and Rose is spectacular in it. Unfortunately it completely tanked at the box office. Rodriguez still believes Harvey's vendetta against Rose is what kept the movie from even being given a fighting chance with a proper ad campaign, etc. He explains: "But because of the NDA Rose told me she had signed, at Rose's request I had to keep it quiet from everyone until now as to why we were even making that film together, especially Harvey. We knew that strategically we couldn't rub it in his face why we were REALLY doing this movie, because then he'd just bury the movie, not sell it well, and everyone would lose. To our horror, Harvey buried our movie anyway, and because we did not want to risk getting sued, we never spoke publicly about the matter... I am still haunted and disillusioned that after all the good intentions, immense pain and struggle Rose and I and so many talented people went through to make the film, that Harvey Weinstein won in the end by burying the movie just because Rose was the lead actress." Robert wishes they could have spoken about the inspiration of the film, the fight behind the scenes before now. And he hopes this new conversation will change things in Hollywood and other businesses: "It's been really difficult to admit and come to terms that the NDA handcuffs forced us to needlessly jump through hoops that today would have been unnecessary because of Rose's fearlessness to speak out, despite the consequences. I hope that new legislation will result in NDAs to be legally null and void in situations where rape and assault have been committed and where power is so unequally distributed." Hear, hear! "Looking back over the years, I have wondered if I would have made the same choices, knowing the bleak outcome. We all suffered greatly on the film, and the journey ended up costing us all more than we ever bargained for. For me personally, it cost me my marriage of 16 years, my family, a large dose of sanity, and for years I have grappled with the sobering idea that maybe I made a grave error in standing up at all, when no one was even asking me to." OK, we have to stop right there -- was it really the movie failing at the box office that cost you your marriage, Robert? Or did dating your star do it? In case you didn't know, Robert and Rose went public with their relationship when the movie came out -- immediately after news of his split with his wife, Elizabeth Avellan, hit. Photos: 10 Movies That Ruined Celebrity Relationships Not the point, we know, but gotta be honest here. Anyway, go on: "I know that's not the message I'd ever want to send out, but it's been hard to justify something that now is clear was a lose/lose situation from the get-go, and that in the end failed and simply caused more damage. The reason I'm saying this is because it's very clear to me now that when someone does what Harvey Weinstein did, the devastation goes far beyond predator and victim. These past few weeks have given me new clarity and hope by seeing the tide finally turn, seeing Harvey finally on the run, and seeing all the brave women who have come forth with their own shocking and distressing stories of abuse. Since I've seen a distinct lack of stories coming from men who may have tried to do the right thing, I wanted to come forth to say that no matter the consequences, no matter how far you have to stick your neck out, no matter what you have to lose, that we must fight the good fight. Everyone has to make a stand and take action." Damn right they do! Because two against the world isn't enough. This fight needs to be ALL of us against them. [Image via Z. Following the explosive New York Times exposé which detailed the indie movie mogul's decades of sexual harassment, several women have come forward to discuss their unsavory experiences with Weinstein. One of the latest people to speak out is model Zoe Brock. Related: Nelly Responds To Sexual Assault Arrest It's been 20 years since Miz Brock's encounter with Harvey, but she clearly remembers how he allegedly lured her back to his hotel room and begged for a massage. Now, if you read the Times coverage, you know that was Weinstein's total M.O. Per Zoe's Medium post, she was only 23 years old when she was "Harveyed." Apparently, the New Zealand-born beauty met Weinstein in 1997 while they were both at the Cannes Film Festival. She revealed: "I met Harvey Weinstein in Cannes at the Film Festival. We were seated next to each other at a fancy dinner. I didn't catch his name and assumed I was talking to another hungry producer trying to sell a little movie to the big wigs. Feeling sorry for him, I went out of my way to be entertaining and nice. It wasn't until later in the meal that I asked the name of his production company." After learning that they had a mutual friend in common, the two industry professionals spent some time together at the film festival. Zoe continued: "With a dear mutual friend in common I felt safe with Harvey. The night was young and so was I. After dinner our large group, which included my Italian modeling agent, a few rich douchebags, some decorative models, and Harvey's entourage, rolled out into the Cannes night. Black town cars and gleaming limos took us to various parties where we glittered and shone like everyone else. Harvey and his assistant, Ben Silverman, never left my side." While the conversation between Zoe and Harvey could've been misconstrued as flirtatious, Brock insists that she only felt "platonic energy" for him. Which makes it so much more troubling that Weinstein and his assistant seemingly manipulated it so that she was separated from her friends: "My group was ushered into one car and I was somehow separated from them and told to get into another car with Harvey and his two friends. Stupidly, I obliged. I was told we were all going to the same place. To this day I do not know if my Italian agent was in on the ruse. My instincts tell me he was." How awful. Things only got worse for Zoe as she relayed: "The energy shifted and I became very uncomfortable... And suddenly I was alone in a remote hotel suite with Harvey fucking Weinstein. My body went into high alert. I was drunk, young, miles from home, without cash to get a cab, and no cell phone... It was time to sober up, and fast." To make matters worse, Harvey moved quickly to proposition Zoe as he was naked and asking for massage almost as soon as they were alone. The model added: "Harvey left the room, but not for long. He re-emerged naked a couple of minutes later and asked if I would give him a massage. Panicking, in shock, I remember weighing up the options and wondering how much I needed to placate him to keep myself safe. He asked if I would like a massage instead, and for a second I thought this might be a way to give him an inch without him taking a mile. I told him I was uncomfortable and that I was angry that I had been tricked into this position. He pleaded with me to let him massage me and I let him put his hands on my shoulders while my mind raced." In an attempt to escape the filmmaker, Zoe locked herself in the bathroom as Harvey pleaded with her to come out. After reprimanding Harvey through a locked door, Brock eventually emerged and found Weinstein whimpering on the bed: "Harvey, contrite, promised to cover himself and leave me alone. I came out of the bathroom and found him sitting on his bed, wearing a bathrobe, crying. 'You don't like me because I'm fat.' He whimpered." Tsk, tsk. Supposedly, the assistant tried to apologize as Zoe has claimed he told her: "'I'm so sorry,' he said. 'I want you to know that of all the girls he does this to you are the one I really felt bad about. You deserve better.'" Ben Silverman, if you're reading this, SHAME ON YOU. Smh. According to Zoe, Weinstein let her stay at his suite at the Majestic Hotel. However, after a friend warned her that Harvey would be back in the morning, the brunette fled the hotel room at 6 a.m. In an attempt to downplay the scandalous nature of their encounter, Harvey sent Zoe red roses and booked a private movie screening for her at the festival. Both presents were unwanted. Be sure to read Zoe's full account for yourself HERE. [Image via Facebook/WENN.].....»»

As you surely know, Harvey Weinstein has been ousted from The Weinstein Company following his sexual misconduct scandal. Not to mention, according to reports, the disgraced Hollywood heavyweight blames his brother and (now former) business partner, Bob Weinstein for allegedly leaking internal documents detailing decades of sexual harassment allegations to the New York Times. Related: Emma Thompson Slams "Predator" Weinstein While Bob hasn't confirmed this gossip, the 62-year-old has publicly denounced his brother and made it perfectly clear that he in no way condones his flesh-and-blood's behavior. Thus, a showdown is expected when the two brothers both tune in for TWC's Board of Directors meeting. Per TMZ, the Board of Directors has a meeting scheduled for Tuesday where they plan to discuss Harvey's firing. Reportedly, the scandalized industry titan will be present at the meeting via a speakerphone. In case you forgot, Harvey is currently in an Arizona based rehab facility where he is seeking treatment for sex addiction. The movie mogul's lawyer, Patty Glaser, will be in the room at the time of the meeting. It's said Glaser plans to address several points which prove that Harvey's firing violated his contract. Supposedly, TWC never gave Harvey a clear cut reason as to why he was being let go. Right, because it's ~such~ a mystery. *Eye roll* What's even crazier is that the attorney plans to argue that the elder Weinstein did nothing to violate his contract. As you may've heard, a provision was added to Harvey's contract back in 2015 which covers claims such as sexual harassment. The only requirement? Harvey was required to reimburse the company for any settlement and/or legal fees. Oh, and he'd have to pay a fine too. Related: Why Kate Winslet Refused To Thank Harvey In Oscar Speech! Since there were no claims brought against Harvey following the contract negotiation, his employment document should protect him. TWC isn't buying this defense as their code of conduct is what allowed them to let Harvey go. This contract dispute is likely to wind both Weinsteins up. It's believed that Bob, who is said to naturally be hot tempered, is livid about the drama and is expected to go off during the conference call. To make matters worse, if the company is unwilling to go through mediation and arbitration, Glaser will file a lawsuit on Harvey's behalf. An insider told the webloid: "There is so much crap that will be unearthed in a lawsuit, the company just can't survive it." Dramaaaaaa. In this new New Yorker piece, two actresses who had previously remained silent finally came out with their own harrowing stories. First was Annabella Sciorra, the star of early '90s hits Jungle Fever and The Hand That Rocks The Cradle who is probably best known for her Emmy-nominated recurring role as Gloria Trillo on The Sopranos. Related: Kevin Spacey Accused Of Assaulting News Anchor's Loved One Farrow says he approached Sciorra for the first article based on what some sources had told him, but she denied anything had happened. Even twenty-five years later she was still terrified of what he would do. But after the article came out and all the subsequent allegations, she knew she had to come forward with the truth -- Harvey had raped her. After starring in The Night We Never Met for Miramax, Sciorra says she was always at events and screenings for the studio. Then one dinner changed everything: "Harvey was there, and I got up to leave. And Harvey said, 'Oh, I'll drop you off.' Harvey had dropped me off before, so I didn't really expect anything out of the ordinary—I expected just to be dropped off." But after she went up to her apartment and got ready for bed, she heard a knock on the door. "It wasn't that late. Like, it wasn't the middle of the night, so I opened the door a crack to see who it was. And he pushed the door open. [Harvey] walked in like it was his apartment, like he owned the place, and started unbuttoning his shirt. So it was very clear where he thought this was going to go. And I was in a nightgown. I didn't have much on." She says he looked around to double check no one else was there as he got undressed and then cornered her, saying: "'Come here, come on, cut it out, what are you doing, come here.'" She told him: "'This is not happening. You've got to go. You have to leave. Get out of my apartment.'" But he didn't leave. "He shoved me onto the bed, and he got on top of me. I kicked and I yelled." Sciorra says he held her arms above her head with one hand and forcibly had sexual intercourse with her. "When he was done, he ejaculated on my leg, and on my nightgown." She remembered the nightgown specifically as it was a family heirloom from Italy. "He said, ‘I have impeccable timing,' and then he said, ‘This is for you.' And then he attempted to perform oral sex on me. And I struggled, but I had very little strength left in me." She says her body just began to shake violently: "I think, in a way, that's what made him leave, because it looked like I was having a seizure or something." Sciorra says she didn't tell anyone because she was so ashamed. But Harvey retaliated against her anyway: "From 1992, I didn't work again until 1995. I just kept getting this pushback of ‘We heard you were difficult; we heard this or that.' I think that that was the Harvey machine." Then when she did start working again, Harvey found her immediately. Related: Corey Feldman Tells Megyn Kelly That One Of His Abusers Now Works With The LA Dodgers! While she was filming The Innocent Sleep in London, Harvey called and sent cars to pick her up -- once even showing up himself and pounding on her door. "For nights after, I couldn't sleep. I piled furniture in front of the door, like in the movies." She says she got young producer Matthew Vaughn to secretly move her to another hotel. Vaughn (who went on to direct the Kingsman films) confirmed as much. In 1997, Sciorra starred in Copland, which Miramax produced. She went with the film to Cannes, where she was told her room was next door to Harvey's. Early one morning, there was a knock, and in her sleepy state she thought she must have missed an appointment and opened the door: "There's Harvey in his underwear, holding a bottle of baby oil in one hand and a tape, a movie, in the other. And it was horrific, because I'd been there before." She retreated into the room and thought fast: "He was closing in really quickly, and I pressed all the call buttons for valet service and room service. I kept pressing all of them until someone showed up." Thankfully staff showed up, causing Harvey to run back to his room. Related: All 50+ Women Who Have Accused Harvey Weinstein So Far Daryl Hannah also revealed her story, and sadly not for the first time. She met Harvey in the early 2000s at Cannes, where he told her he was a big fan and asked for her room number so he could call her for a meeting. That night he came knocking, then "pounding" on her door. She slipped out her balcony door -- she was on the first floor -- and spent the night in her makeup artist's room. The next night, her makeup artist stayed with her, and Harvey returned: "We actually pushed a dresser in front of the door and just kind of huddled in the room." Years later, while at the Rome premiere of Kill Bill, Vol. 2, Hannah experienced another sequel -- only this time both she and Harvey came prepared. Rather than knocking, the studio exec just barged right into her room: "He had a key. He came through the living room and into the bedroom. He just burst in like a raging bull. And I know with every fibre of my being that if my male makeup artist was not in that room, things would not have gone well. It was scary." Thankfully Hannah had prudently asked makeup artist Steeve Daviault to stay with her and watch movies all night just in case. Daviault confirmed the story to Farrow also. Hannah says she asked Harvey what he was doing, and he told her there was a party downstairs she was supposed to be at. She was wary but didn't want to be unprofessional. She got dressed and went downstairs only to find the dining room "completely empty." When she tried to return to her room, Harvey was blocking the elevator. He said to her: "Are your tits real?" Then he asked if he could feel them. "I said, ‘No, you can't!' And then he said, ‘At least flash me, then.' And I said, ‘Fuck off, Harvey.'" She says she got away but experienced "instant repercussions" -- her flight to Cannes and her hotel room were canceled, as were those of her makeup artist. Hannah says she told "all the powers that be" what had happened, including her manager, a producer, and, yes, Quentin Tarantino. Related: Quentin KNEW Harvey Weinstein 'Did A Couple Of These Things' Unfortunately, no one did anything: "And it didn't matter. I think that it doesn't matter if you're a well-known actress, it doesn't matter if you're twenty or if you're forty, it doesn't matter if you report or if you don't, because we are not believed. We are more than not believed—we are berated and criticized and blamed." Sciorra agrees. She told Farrow this victim blaming was the final straw in coming forward. After she saw how Asia Argento was being treated in the Italian press, she was incensed -- especially when commentators were asking if Asia's experience even "qualified" as rape. She says she thought to herself: "O.K., you want rape? Here's fucking rape." Sciorra has a message for those who think she or other actresses would make something like this up for publicity: "Now when I go to a restaurant or to an event, people are going to know that this happened to me. They're gonna look at me and they're gonna know. I'm an intensely private person, and this is the most unprivate thing you can do." When we see her, we're going to think about her courage. Calling him a "serial sexual predator," the anonymous group of reportedly almost 30 staff members condemn his actions in the pointed piece. Related: The Weinstein Company Is In TROUBLE They add they are aware their statement violates their non-disclosure agreement, but feel Harvey violated their contracts' promise to a safe work environment with his alleged harassment and assault. They wrote: "We came to work at this company because we love movies. We grew up watching Miramax films, and came to associate that name, and later the name Weinstein, with great storytelling... All of us were excited to get the job, proud to be working for a company with such an illustrious history. We all knew that we were working for a man with an infamous temper. We did not know we were working for a serial sexual predator. We knew that our boss could be manipulative. We did not know that he used his power to systematically assault and silence women. We had an idea that he was a womanizer who had extra-marital affairs. We did not know he was a violent aggressor and alleged rapist." They continued: "Our company was built on Harvey's unbridled ambition – his aggressive deal-making, his insatiable desire to win and get what he wanted, his unabashed love for celebrity – these traits were legendary, and the art they produced made an indelible mark on the entertainment industry. But we now know that behind closed doors, these were the same traits that made him a monster. He created a toxic ecosystem where his abuse could flourish unchecked for decades." The group of employees also asked to be released from the NDAs in their contracts so they can "speak openly, and get to the origins of what happened here, and how." TWC's staff also shared their support for the brave women who have shared their stories about Harvey: "We unequivocally support all the women who have come forward, many of whom we count among our own friends and colleagues. Thank you for speaking out. When the New York Times and The New Yorker articles broke, we wept. We see you, we admire you, and we are in this fight alongside you." Additionally, any reports of them being "honeypots" and being complicit in his behaviors are "disgusting": "And while we can only speak for the people represented in this statement, none of us ever knowingly acted as a so-called ‘honeypot.' That is disgusting and renders us all victims of Harvey's disgraceful behavior." You can read the statement in its entirety HERE! [Image via Media Punch.].....»»

Gwyneth Paltrow Reveals Harvey Weinstein Tried To Proposition Her — & Ex-BF Brad Pitt Confronted The Industry Titan!

Harvey Weinstein is a predator. This has become abundantly clear as countless actresses have come forward to detail their unsavory experiences with the indie movie mogul following The New York Times and The New Yorker's respective bombshell exposés. This has become abundantly clear as countless actresses have come forward to detail their unsavory experiences with the indie movie mogul following The New York Times and The New Yorker's respective bombshell exposés. As you've likely heard, the two publications have accused the disgraced producer of conducting decades of sexual harassment, as well as rape. Related: Harvey Is Said To Have Made 'An Unwanted Advance' Towards Angelina! Many of Weinstein's victims are actresses we've come to know and love over the years. Most recently, Gwyneth Paltrow has come forward to speak to the Times about an unwanted advance Harvey made towards her back when she was only 22. According to the Iron Man star, shortly after booking her career changing role in Emma, the industry titan invited the Goop founder to his suite at the Peninsula Beverly Hills hotel for a "work" meeting. Apparently, the meeting ended with Harvey placing his hands on her and suggesting that they give each other massages in his bedroom. The 45-year-old noted: "I was a kid, I was signed up, I was petrified." Gwyneth rejected his advances and confided in her boyfriend at the time -- Brad Pitt. The El Lay native was understandably upset by the filmmaker's come on as she thought of him as her "Uncle Harvey." She was also blindsided by this situation as her agent at Creative Artists Agency set up the meeting. Pitt, who confirmed this account via a rep, then confronted Harvey and warned the powerhouse to keep his hands off the blonde stunner. Weinstein responded to this confrontation by ripping Paltrow a new one. She continued: "I thought he was going to fire me... He screamed at me for a long time. It was brutal." How awful. Thankfully, Gwyn stood her ground and demanded that Weinstein keep their relationship a strictly professional one. This explains why Paltrow has previously praised Weinstein and continued to work with him over the years. At one point, Gwyneth was known as the "first lady of Miramax." On her complex working relationship with Weinstein, Chris Martin's ex added: "He was alternately generous and supportive and championing, and punitive and bullying." What a complicated situation. Despite the fact that Weinstein helped her win an Oscar, Gwyneth appears to have little sympathy for his current plight as she concluded: "We're at a point in time when women need to send a clear message that this is over. This way of treating women ends now." Hear! Hear! Unfortunately, Gwyneth is just one of many Harvey Weinstein victims as several others have since opened up to the Times. This week, it was revealed that an anonymous Toronto-based actress is heading to court over two alleged sexual assaults she suffered at the hands of the indie movie mogul in 2000. Disney has been listed as a co-defendant in this case as they owned Weinstein's Miramax at the time of the alleged incident. Related: Author Claims Dustin Hoffman Sexually Harassed Her According to the Toronto Sun, the unnamed accuser has taken the first step in launching a lawsuit as she has filed a statement of claim. It appears the woman is seeking $4 million in damages. Per the report, Jane Doe claims to have suffered from emotional distress over her unsavory interactions with the disgraced producer. The supposed victim was introduced to Harvey while working on an unspecified Miramax project. Reportedly, the (now ousted) Hollywood heavyweight told the woman she looked like a famous actress. After the initial introduction, Harvey's assistant, named Barbara Schneeweiss, arranged for a breakfast meeting between Weinstein and the woman so that they could "discuss her career and potential opportunities with Miramax." Hmmm, this already sounds familiar. The anonymous woman says she arrived at Harvey's hotel, only to learn that the sit down had been moved up to Weinstein's suite. The statement specified: "Once alone with Doe, Weinstein announced, ‘I like massages. What do you think about massages?' Doe said she thought massages were great, but that the subject was not an appropriate one for a business meeting." In response, Weinstein is said to have "chuckled" and then proceeded to give the woman a tour of his room. The visit took a darker turn when industry titan "overpowered her, pushed her onto the bed, and took his penis out of his pants." Weinstein then forced the woman's skirt up, pinned her wrists down, and forced oral sex onto her. Doe eventually broke free, however, when she ran into the assistant in the lobby, Schneeweiss merely "looked down." Unsurprisingly, Barbara (who is now an executive with The Weinstein Company) has also been named in the lawsuit. The actress reported the incident to her agent, but Harvey downplayed the situation by saying it was a misunderstanding. After Harvey left several voicemails, the actress agreed to meet with him -- but made sure to bring her agent and friend along with her. Related: Kevin Spacey Lured Teen Into His Bed By "Sobbing" Upon arriving at Harvey's hotel, Doe was somehow persuaded to meet with Weinstein alone. On the second meeting with the now 65-year-old, the statement relayed: "As soon as she did, he threw his weight onto her and tried to stick his tongue down her throat." Ugh. Jane worked with Weinstein on another occasion as she was offered a part in one of his films three years later. Jane says Harvey continued to "harass" her even though she never met up with him again. How awful. Disney has since responded to Doe's allegations with the following: "The Weinsteins operated and managed their business with virtual autonomy, and we were unaware of any complaints, lawsuits, or settlements. There is absolutely no legal basis for this claim against The Walt Disney Company and we will defend against it vigorously." Hmmmm, very inneresting. This is the second civil suit to accuse Weinstein of assault following The New York Times and the New Yorker's exposés about Harvey's sexual misconduct. We'll be sure to keep our eyes on this suit for any developments! [Image via Dave Bedrosian/Future Image/WENN.].....»»

Fair point. She continued: "It came as a shock and a great disappointment... I only met Harvey when I was old and Harvey goes for young because that's more vulnerable." After bringing up Bill Cosby, Jane added: "I'm glad it's coming out, I'm so proud of those fellow actors that are speaking up. I know that it has taken a long time. It is a very, very, very hard thing to do... You don't get anything out of it as the person who has been victimized but it is important that it come out. Let's not think that this is some unique, horrific... this goes on all the time, this male entitlement in Hollywood and everywhere - in offices and businesses all over the world, in bars, in restaurants, in stores women are assaulted, abused, harassed." Earlier this week, actress-turned-writer Marisa Coughlan detailed an encounter with the disgraced movie mogul where he attempted to barter a role in a film for sex. Ugh. Related: Blythe Danner Defends Daughter Gwyneth Paltrow Per Miz Coughlan's account to The Hollywood Reporter, the blonde industry vet first met Weinstein for a brief moment while at the Teaching Mrs. Tingle premiere in Westwood, CA in 1999. At this time, Marisa was also cast in a Miramax TV show, titled Wasteland. Since Weinstein had his hands in both projects, making him technically her boss, Coughlan felt compelled to say hello to him when she later ran into him at a restaurant. Apparently, Marisa boldly stopped by Harvey's table as he dined with Ben Affleck, Matt Damon, and others. Coughlan remembers: "I said hello briefly and went back to my table and didn't talk to him again that night." Thus, she was very shocked when the bill came and it was revealed that Weinstein had paid for Marisa "and [her] three girlfriends." Wanting to be polite, Marisa sent a thank you note to the scandalized producer's New York office. Although Marisa thought that was the end of the story, Weinstein called her a "week or so later." Supposedly, the now 65-year-old said he was "calling a classy lady to thank her for a classy note." While Harvey offered up many compliments, he came off professional as he requested to meet with her at the Peninsula Hotel to discuss a few projects. Marisa wasn't bothered with the meet up location, as she explained: "I was informed that the meeting would be at the Peninsula, which was not abnormal at all... It's like a mini-office with assistants running around and lots of activity." However, there was something different about Weinstein's Peninsula set up. Upon arriving at Harvey's "gigantic penthouse," Marisa witnessed: "There were a few assistants there when I arrived but they literally left the suite like the place was on fire. I didn't process why until later." After discussing a few projects, including a potential lead in a Miramax movie, Harvey made an unsavory proposition to the Super Troopers actress. Marisa, who was only 25 at the time, recalls: "He told me that he has a lot of 'special friends' and they give each other massages. It was a full-court press. He wanted me to be one of his 'special friends' and go into the bedroom. I told him that I had a serious boyfriend and reminded him that he was married and that we should keep this professional. I was so blindsided. Not one ounce of me anticipated it. It was the weirdest meeting I've ever had in my life." Ew, ew, EWWWWWW! What bugged Coughlan most about the come on was how "transactional" it felt. Marisa left the meeting without incident, but Weinstein did follow up as he sent a script to her agents. He also called and offered to fly her out to New York so they could partake in "romantic" outings. Marisa reluctantly agreed to meet with Harvey one more time, but insisted they sit down in a public space. On their second meeting, Coughlan shared: "I sat down and explained that I wanted to be really clear. I told him again that I have a serious boyfriend and I was never going to do anything physical or romantic... It was super uncomfortable, remember, because I was employed by his studio at the time. He seemed so flabbergasted that I wasn't going to go there. I was shocked that he was so shocked." After the rejection, the Hollywood heavyweight asked Marisa to drive him back to the Peninsula. Once the twosome arrived at the hotel, Harvey "pushed and pushed and pushed" for Marisa to come up to his room. Coughlan turned down Weinstein's advances once again and he stormed out of her car -- only to walk back and say that he "respected her." Yeah, sure. Related: Rose McGowan Pulls Out Of Film Festival Appearance Days later, the lead role Harvey teased Marisa with was given to another actress. On whether she knew the extent of Harvey's predatory ways, Marisa noted: "What happened to me, even though it was uncomfortable, was much more of a transactional situation. He wanted to barter sex for movie roles. In other cases, he was forcing himself on them. It's so shocking that he got away with it for as long as he did. I never realized the scope of it. I felt like an island and naively didn't know how pervasive it was." Unsurprisingly, Marisa is standing by the other Harvey accusers -- which include A-listers such as Gwyneth Paltrow, Angelina Jolie, Ashley Judd, and Rose McGowan. In regards to the power Weinstein once wielded in Hollywood, the Minnesota native concluded: "I can't imagine a more intimidating person to go up against. During his heyday, he was scary as hell. I saw him yell at assistants and servers, but then saw him turn on a dime and be so charming. There's definitely some Jekyll and Hyde going on there. It's taken this many to come forward to have this happen — there's definitely strength in numbers." Hear! Hear! We couldn't be more grateful that so many women are speaking up now! Related: Uh... Harvey Is Now Lying About Oprah?! Calling his older bro Harvey 'sick and depraved,' Bob Weinstein -- who also works as a film executive jointly with Harvey at The Weinstein Company -- was apparently EXTREMELY emotional and got right down to it in his interview, saying (below): "I find myself in a waking nightmare. My brother has caused unconscionable suffering. As a father of three girls I say this with every bone in my body — I am heartbroken for the women that he has harmed. I'm a fighter. For my entire adult life, I fought for the films I want to see the light of day. I have fought for my employees, who have dedicated their lives to achieving the vision of this company that me and my brother founded. But I cannot fight what is indefensible." Wow. Related: Harvey, Seriously, WTF Is THIS Shit?! Bob -- who says he intends to write the Academy to have Harvey kicked out -- went on to say more about the elder Weinstein brother's rampant physical abuse of him -- and others (below): "I was also the object of a lot of his verbal abuse — at one time physical abuse. And I am not looking for one bit of sympathy from anyone. I do not put myself in the category at all of those women that he hurt. But it's a complicated situation when it's your brother doing the abusing to you as well. I saw it and I asked him to get help for many years. And that's the truth. He avoided getting the help. We begged him. This hurts, but I don't feel an ounce of remorse coming from him, and that kills me too. When I heard his written, lame excuse… Not an excuse. When I heard his admission of feeling remorse for the victims and then him cavalierly, almost crazily saying he was going to go out and take on the NRA, it was so disturbing to me. It was utter insanity. My daughters all felt sick hearing this because we understood he felt nothing. I don't feel he feels anything to this day. I don't." Unbelievable. Bob goes on to reveal that he hasn't had a spot in his personal life for Harvey for at least the last five years, and the brothers have effectively "divorced" each other for years now owing to major personal rifts on top of Harvey's unacceptable behavior. And now he's finally, publicly acknowledging that hard truth. Related: All 45+ Women Who Have Accused Harvey Weinstein So Far In a very confessional interview with The New York Times out on Thursday, the Django Unchained director declares: "Everyone who was close to Harvey had heard of at least one of those incidents. It was impossible they didn't." As for himself, he addresses a few of the incidents involving well-known actresses, including the fact Harvey had reached a settlement with Rose McGowan over her alleged rape way back in 1997. Quentin admits: "I knew enough to do more than I did... There was more to it than just the normal rumors, the normal gossip. It wasn't secondhand. I knew he did a couple of these things." He says his inaction now fills him with shame and remorse: "I wish I had taken responsibility for what I heard. If I had done the work I should have done then, I would have had to not work with him." That would have been a start. Related: LAPD Opens Harvey Weinstein Rape Investigation So why didn't he? He begins to explain: "What I did was marginalize the incidents." Though he already realizes: "Anything I say now will sound like a crappy excuse." Yep. Specifically, Quentin addresses the incident he was most familiar with, Harvey's unwanted advances toward Mira Sorvino. The director heard all about it directly from the Mighty Aphrodite star when the two dated shortly after. When she relayed the story she would wait over 20 years to tell publicly as part of Ronan Farrow's New Yorker exposé, Quentin says he didn't understand it as a pattern of a predator but as an isolated incident: "I was shocked and appalled... I couldn't believe he would do that so openly. I was like: ‘Really? Really?' But the thing I thought then, at the time, was that he was particularly hung up on Mira... I thought Harvey was hung up on her in this Svengali kind of way. Because he was infatuated with her, he horribly crossed the line." Quentin ultimately brushed off even what he knew was "crossing the line" because his attitude at the time was that his own presence in the situation would put a stop to it. He recalls thinking: "I'm with her, he knows that, he won't mess with her, he knows that she's my girlfriend." Weinstein didn't go after Mira again, so that seemed to be that. Though obviously it wasn't. Related: France's Got Talent Judge Accused Of Sexual Misconduct Against NINE Women, Including A 14-Year-Old! Tarantino says he heard other stories through the grapevine over the years but admits they didn't weigh on him either: "I chalked it up to a '50s-'60s era image of a boss chasing a secretary around the desk. As if that's O.K. That's the egg on my face right now." After taking some time to come to terms with his own complicity, Quentin says he now believes Hollywood has been "operating under an almost Jim Crow-like system that us males have almost tolerated": "We allowed it to exist because that's the way it was." Now Quentin says he's through keeping his eyes and mouth shut -- and hopes his colleagues will do likewise: "I'm calling on the other guys who knew more to not be scared. Don't just give out statements. Acknowledge that there was something rotten in Denmark. Vow to do better by our sisters." Ultimately, Tarantino, who worked with Weinstein for decades, says he is still perplexed by all the things he's read about the man he thought he knew: "I don't have an answer for why he could do this and be stripped of his entire legacy." As for whether he believes the public will forever link him and his film legacy to Harvey's misdeeds, he says simply: "I don't know. I hope it doesn't." Harvey Weinstein has apparently been claiming that Oprah Winfrey called him this week to say that she's "ready to come out and publicly support him" according to TMZ -- and yet Oprah's team is TOTALLY denying this!! Related: Harvey, Seriously, WTF Is THIS Shit?! Sources say that Harvey has been going around telling everyone who will listen that a number of powerful people -- Oprah included -- have reached out to him and encouraged the producer to defend himself publicly, apparently even going so far as to say they'd have his back. Now, in Weinstein's telling of this story, apparently he repeatedly singled out Oprah as being a supporter who kept saying this over and over again. One problems... Oprah says that's not true. Like, not even a little bit. Her team responded by indicating they were really just after Weinstein for a 60 Minutes interview (below): "Oprah has not spoken to Harvey Weinstein directly. Someone from his team reached out to her to see if she would talk to him, and she said she would if it was for an interview. There are no plans for an interview at this time ... She was only interested if he'd look in the mirror and give her the honest, bone marrow truth." Oops! So where'd the wires get crossed up on this one?! Seems logical that Weinstein is begging to have SOMEBODY in his corner... but maybe don't fudge a story about getting support from Oprah?? Director Says He Was Kicked Off Movie After Harvey Weinstein Didn"t Find His Lead Actress "Fuckable"

According to a new interview with Buzzfeed, the Scottish filmmaker was kicked off production of B. Monkey because his pick for lead actress wasn't "fuckable," to use Weinstein's term. The role went to Asia Argento instead of British starlet Sophie Okonedo. As we know now, Argento has accused the Hollywood honcho of raping her in 1997. Related: Molly Ringwald Describes YEARS Of Sexual Harassment Caton-Jones first worked with Weinstein 10 years prior on the 1989 film Scandal, when he noted Harvey would only show up to set for sex scenes. They crossed paths again when the Weinstein brothers were attached to the 1998 cult classic. The director said of the extensive casting process: "The basics of the deal was we were going to find an unknown and we were going to cast her as the lead in the film. There was extensive casting. We saw many, many girls, maybe 100 or so. And I ended up — I thought Sophie Okonedo would have been great for the part." "The trouble began" when Sophie and Michael met with Harvey at the Peninsula Hotel in Beverly Hills for approval: "Harvey kept saying to me, ‘Do you think she is fuckable?'... That was what the deal was all the time. I said, ‘She is the best actress for the job, Harvey.' And we started arguing about it. It was only when I said to Harvey, ‘Don't screw up the casting of this film because you want to get laid,' whereupon he went mental." When Michael returned to his room to cool off from the argument, he received a call from Variety requesting a comment for a story about him walking off set. Harvey was already covering his tracks. He recalled: "I was furious after being kicked off my film, and I told them all about what happened. I told them about the harassment claims, and I said 'Here is your quote: I don't cast films according to Harvey Weinstein's erection,' and they just laughed." When asked about why his response wasn't included in the original story, a spokesman for the outlet said they couldn't comment on editorial decisions made that long ago under different ownership: "As you know, the publication is under different ownership now, and therefore, we don't have a comment on previous editorial practices." Not long after the incident, Harvey gave Michael Radford the gig as director and cast Argento as the lead. Related: France Planning New Street Harassment Laws According to Caton-Jones' impression of Weinstein: "Sophie Okonedo was not fuckable and that was it. Find someone who is." Even though he was applauded by his close circle for how he handled Harvey's gross behavior, the director still faced repercussions: "I was the stupid one who stood up and told him to go to hell. I stood up to him and told him to go fuck himself. And I got a lot of support from a lot of people when I did that, but you know, I didn't make the film, so he won." As for those saying they were unaware of what was going on all these years, Michael said: "Anyone who didn't know, didn't want to know. It's like Germany after the Second World War — I've never seen so many people not knowing anything. I certainly knew what was going on at the time. And everyone around us pretty much all knew what the score was. You only had to spend five minutes with Harvey to get the nature of the man. He didn't particularly hide who he was." We knew that Pitt was a stand up guy, but this is incredible. As we previously reported, Miz Paltrow revealed in a chat with The New York Times that Weinstein propositioned her sexually after casting her in the major motion picture, Emma. The blonde starlet was only 22 at the time, but was in a serious relationship with Brad. Related: Harvey's Wife Is Leaving Him! Gwyn says after Harvey tried to bully her into giving him a massage in his hotel room, the Oscar winner confided in her man about the unsavory experience. While the 53-year-old has confirmed Gwyneth's account of what went down, it's since been revealed HOW EXACTLY Brad threatened the industry titan. According to People, Pitt confronted Weinstein while at a Hollywood party in 1995. A source told the magazine: "Brad threatened Harvey. He got right in his face, poked him in the chest and said, 'You will not ever do this to Gwyneth ever again.'" The insider also revealed that Pitt "made it clear there would be consequences" if Weinstein EVER tried to come onto Gwyneth again. It's said Brad promised to give Harvey a "Missouri whooping" if he mistreated his then-love. The tipser continued: "He made it absolutely clear this was not going to happen again and it didn't." Sadly, this threat somewhat backfired as the Iron Man actress has since revealed that Harvey berated her over the phone for telling Brad about the incident. As to how Harvey reacted to Brad's threats, the confidant says Weinstein "tried to explain, then he stopped and listened and got the message." What's huge about Pitt going to bat for Gwyneth is that he wasn't a major star at the time. We mean, the Hollywood hunk took a "big risk" by confronting Weinstein. The source put it perfectly as they dished to the publication: "He was a young guy in Hollywood taking a chance... He's one of the only men in Hollywood who stood up and said something. That's a fact." Bravo, Brad. Although, we DO wish he spoke out sooner about what a predator Harvey is... [Image via WENN.].....»»
