Clocking in at 195 minutes, the documentary is a cinephile’s dream, as Tavernier gives his own perspective at French filmmakers who have made an impact on his own moviegoing life. “I wanted to grateful, to say thank you to a lot of people,” said Tavernier, whose own credits include ‘Round Midnight and Safe Conduct. “Filmmakers, writers, and composers who have given me so many joys and illuminated my life. This is not about French cinema. This is about my vision on some French films and filmmakers. Though the documentary has candid insight and personal reminisces on such luminaries as Jean-Pierre Melville, Jean-Luc Godard and Jean Gabin, it also spotlights lesser known (but just as talented) artists as actor Eddie Constantine (he starred in Godard’s Alphaville) and director Edmond T. Gréville (Secret Lives, But Not In Vain). Along with providing viewers an immersive look at French film, the documentary also gives us a deeper look into Tavernier’s continuing passion for cinema. “The more I went into filmmaking, the more I discovered things, my admiration grew (for cinema),” said Tavernier. “When I saw the difficulty I had making some films, I became totally (impressed) of how some people like Jacques Becker, Henri-Georges Clouzot or Jean Renoir really got their film made in spite of a lot of things. My Journey Through French Cinema is now playing in select theaters. Find Us On Facebook: Hollywood Outbreak Follow Us On Twitter: @Hollyoutbreak Posted by: Greg Srisavasdi.....»»

Taraji P. Henson Shuts Down Talk That She Shaded Ryan Seacrest At The Oscars!

Don't get it twisted! Taraji P. Henson is TOTALLY standing by Ryan Seacrest. Henson is TOTALLY standing by Ryan Seacrest. Sunday's Oscars coverage was particularly tough for Mr. Seacrest, as he had to navigate the red carpet following sexual misconduct allegations. In case you missed it, the American Idol host was accused of sexual harassment by former stylist Suzie Hardy. Related: Oscars 2018 — All The Viral Moments! Although another former E! staffer corroborated Hardy's account, the network cleared Ryan's name after an "extremely comprehensive and thorough" investigation. Nonetheless, many celebs avoided speaking to the 43-year-old at the Academy Awards. Not Taraji though!!! However, her chat with Seacrest DID cause a bit of controversy -- and here's why... While speaking with Ryan, Taraji revealed that "the universe has a way of taking care of the good people." Of course, many fans assumed this was the Empire star's way of taking shots at Seacrest. They reacted on Twitter: Holy shit Taraji just put a curse on Ryan Seacrest 😂 pic.twitter.com/GSknn3NozF — Sara Jean Hughes (@sarajeanhughes) March 5, 2018 Taraji P. Did anyone else catch it? 😂😂 — Stephanie Yeboah (@NerdAboutTown) March 5, 2018 The shade theory was then seemingly confirmed when the industry vet was heard telling the interviewer NEXT to Ryan: Taraji to ABC after leaving Ryan Seacrest "I’m great now that I’m in your company." YES 🏆 #Oscars pic.twitter.com/bkGkSqfBTD — Melissa Malamut (@melissamalamut) March 5, 2018 Well, damn. Regardless, the 47-year-old has since told People that her comments were "misconstrued" and that she "absolutely" supports the Live! cohost. She noted: "I did it to keep his chin up. It's an awkward position to be in. He's been cleared but anyone can say anything." Fans are now supporting Henson's explanation, as many have pointed out how gleeful she was during most of the interview with Ryan (below). Fair enough. The rest of the Taraji P. Henson & Ryan Seacrest interview that people are acting like didn’t happen #oscars pic.twitter.com/FifHYePAL7 — Siobhan Morris (@siomo) March 5, 2018 Not to mention, Ryan sang Taraji's praises on Twitter following the chat. He wrote: "Nothing but love for my friend @TherealTaraji. Thanks for hanging out with us on the #ERedCarpet! #Oscars" So, it seems like the Internet was just fishing for dramz. *Shrugs* [Image via Twitter.].....»»

I was presumptuous, they refused,” Cannes Film Festival exec Theirry Fremaux said in an interview (via THR). If you don’t know, last year, Bong Joon-ho’s Okja and Noah Baumbach’s The Meyerowitz Stories from Netflix were allowed in the competition. “The Netflix people loved the red carpet and would like to be present with other films. But they understand that the intransigence of their own model is now the opposite of ours,” he continued. Theirry added, “We have to take into account the existence of these powerful new players: Amazon, Netflix and maybe soon Apple. We’ll defend the image of a risk-prone festival, questioning the cinema, and we must be at the table every year.” “Cinema [still] triumphs everywhere even in this golden age of series. The history of cinema and the history of the internet are two different things,” he concluded. This year, Netflix will be allowed to screen movies at the festival, but they won’t be in competition for the coveted Palme d’Or prize. The Cannes Film Festival will kick off on May 8......»»
