The movie star just suffered through the worst wide opening weekend of her entire career with new film mother!, a complete bust at the box office that took in just $7.5 million from nearly 2,500 theaters all across North America. WTF?! What a bomb!!! Related: J.Law's Complete Style Revolution! It didn't help that the film, directed by Darren Aronofsky, stalled hard because it earned a solid 'F' grade from CinemaScore, but even with it, those box office totals are brutal -- it couldn't even clear eight figures!! Last we'd heard, Kevin Hart's sex tape was being offered up for considerably more in extortion money than the cumulative box office total mother! took in over the weekend... yikes... The film cost only $30 million to produce, and it'll obviously be in theaters for at least few more weeks, so it's not like the flick has completely bombed financially... but let's not kid ourselves. This is bad. And yeah, it officially supplants The House At The End Of The Street as the worst opening on Lawrence's career. (The House had brought in $12.3 million in its opening weekend back when it bombed.) As for big winners, It continues to cruise into the history books in its second weekend: the Stephen King adaptation netted $60 million from 4,103 theaters, making it the biggest second-weekend gross of a horror film EVER! ICYMI, production on the dystopian action film was immediately shut down last year after the 26-year-old suffered a concussion, facial fracture, and lacerations after falling to the ground performing a motorcycle stunt. In a new interview with the SF Chronicle, the Teen Wolf actor opened up about how the serious incident helped hm understand his role in the new film American Assassin. Related: Mandy Moore Got A Black Eye & Stitches From A Shower Door Handle Recalling the moment he flew face first into another vehicle, Dylan said: "I had a severe concussion and brain trauma. I basically broke this whole side of my face. I had to have facial reconstructive surgery. Got plates in there now. I thought that was just it, that my face was never gonna look the same again." Adding: "I now look at the experience as having gotten away really luckily. A, just walking away from it. And B, getting this great doctor who took care of me and really fixed me up." And now playing a CIA black ops man in the latest flick, he was challenged with the physicality of the role given his injuries: "This was definitely tackling it head-on. I also felt more connected to the character in a way, and more informed than I ever could have been — at the same time, I was terrified to do it ... That strength comes, in a way, from having survived these traumatic incidents. Obviously, it's not every one of those guys, but I felt really connected to that." During filming, O'Brien admitted he had good and bad days: "I would have good days and bad days. Some days, I would show up to the gym, and my trainer would sense I was … in this place, you know? Not a good one. I would randomly have very doubtful days and panicky moments of just wanting to bow out. I had to constantly push through them. Even when I was leaving for the film. I had a pretty severe panic episode an hour before my flight — to the point where I didn't even know if they'd let me on the plane. But I always had a lot of support. ... My dad came with me on that flight. I don't think I would have been able to do it; he actually came out with me and was my rock." He concluded: "Inside, you're wanting to run away — you don't want to do it, you know? It ended up being one of the best experiences of my life. I'm really glad I was able to finish it. I thought I felt relief after ‘Assassin'; this was the ultimate kind of weightless. ... It had been over a year at that point since the accident, and I felt more free and like myself once I accomplished that than I had the whole year." So proud of him!!! You can catch American Assassin on Friday, September 15! [Image via Twitter.].....»»

Joy Bryant Reveals She Was Born As The Result Of A Sexual Assault — "Because She Didn"t Matter, I Didn"t Matter To Her"

Sexual violence has impacted Joy Bryant's life in many more ways than one. Although the Parenthood star has her own #MeToo stories -- in the latest Lenny Letter, the 43-year-old revealed she was born as the result of her mother being sexually assaulted. The New York native penned: "…There's hard work that needs to be done to eradicate this ‘pandemic' of sexual violence against women, especially those who are not famous. I thought about my own experiences of abuse, assault and harassment, pre-fame and post-fame. The male babysitter when I was five, the male photographer in my early twenties, the male studio executive a few years ago. Yeah, me too." Related: Twitter Calls Donald Trump Out For Copy & Pasting His Mass Shooting Response She went on: "And in my acknowledgment of common cause with the countless women coming forward in Hollywood and beyond, I thought about my mother, Joyce. Yeah, her too. On October 18, 1974, Joyce gave birth to me. not in love but in shame, after hiding her pregnancy from my grandmother for six months. I am the product of a 15-year-old girl and an older man she knew. It doesn't matter how or why or when. It happened, and with both my mother and my father dead, I'll never know the specifics." The former model emotionally wrote how her mother wasn't able to be the mom Joy needed because of treatment, or lack there of, as a victim: "What matters is that no one protected her before or after. What matters is that my mother was the one who was shamed. What matters is that my father ruined her life just as it was blossoming. What matters is she was trapped in a trauma she could never escape, a trauma that prevented her from being the mother I needed her to be. What matters is that she didn't matter. And because she didn't matter, I didn't matter to her." She continued: "For years, the silence between us was so loud, I had to cover my hears. I never knew who my mother was as a woman. I never heard her story from her. She never let me in. I never asked. I didn't know how. Neither did she. So my experience of my mother was based on how she treated me, what I heard, and what I saw, most of which was far from nurturing and kind." Joy then addressed the allegations to storm over Hollywood the past month: "The recent outing of Harvey Weinstein, Louis C.K., and many others have been shocking in its existence. Women have long been victimized by the evil that men do, especially men in power. Men who rule with iron fists, limp dicks, and egos as big as the sky. To see woman after women lift up her voice in a #MeToo clarion of solitary and acknowledgement of the pervasive abuse that we've experienced is liberating on the one hand and sobering on the other. It's comforting to know that you're not alone;. But goddamn — who hasn't been abused, harassed, assaulted, or traumatized?" Preach. Joy finished her essay by revealing how she's come to accept her mother's story: "[My mother's] story is one of stolen innocence and lost potential, a record of pain spun on a never ending loop. Her story is sadly the story of so many. It's taken years of therapy for me to begin to understand who I am and why I am. And because of that, I've come to understand who and why mother was, better than I could when she was alive. But on my birthday this year, I accepted my mother's story as part of my own. It always was and always will be." Wow. What a powerful share. Thank you, Joy. [Image via FayesVision/WENN.].....»»
