After announcing some killer upgrades to the Apple Watch, the Apple TV, and the new iPhone 8, Tim Cook unveiled the new premium iPhone X. Related: Kim Kardashian Blocked The Snake Emoji From Her IG! The iPhone 8 is the upgrade everyone wants -- but is the no-button iPhone X really what people will want tomorrow?? Get all the deets on the latest products (below): Apple Watch The Apple Watch is getting a big update in both hardware and soft. The new watch will essentially be a phone on your wrist; it streams music, has a quad core processor and access to Siri, monitors your heartbeat in case of emergency, has its own sim card, and even makes calls; COO Jeff Williams demonstrated making a call to another exec -- who was paddle boarding! On the outside, the watch will also be more chic as Apple have partnered with Hermes for a sleeker look, including more choices for band color. The Apple Watch Series 3 hits stores September 22! Apple TV The new Apple TV 4K HDR is all in the name; the TV will aim to standardize HDR, "the highest quality image ever," wit 4K streaming. They've also promised to upgrade all your iTunes movies and TV to high definition for free. Then there's the new TV app which will allow streaming of live sporting events, with optional new infographic features. All that for a price jump of about $50. iPhone 8 The iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus, as they've finally been officially named, is all about convenience. The 4.7 inch display (5.5 inches on the Plus) is "the most durable" glass ever in a cell phone and for the first time ever dust- and water-resistant! (Remember, that's resistant and not proof!) The new camera features are good news no matter what you're using it for: - With a much smaller aperture that will go all the way down to 2.8 and 1.8 (something shutterbugs know costs big bucks in a typical camera), users will be able to take photos in lower light and much closer without getting blurry. - For selfie aficionados, new portrait lighting (still in beta) will separate a subject from the background and automatically light your face better. The new glass-backed iPhone 8 will allow wireless charging for the first time. The iPhone 8 starts at $699 for the lowest available memory (64 GB) and is available for pre-order starting on Friday, September 15. iPhone X While the iPhone 8 is an update of the old design, the iPhone X (pronounced iPhone 10) is Apple's new Premium phone. All the rumors about a lack of home button are true -- only about the X rather than the 8. The front of the phone is almost all screen, a 5.8 inch display with no buttons at all. The X has the highest resolution of any iPhone ever, HDR-supported at 458 pixels per inch. Besides swiping up to access the home screen, the phone will also use facial recognition software to unlock after recognizing your face. Apparently the chances another iPhone user's face could match yours is one in a million. The iPhone X will officially launch on November 3, with pre-orders not starting until October 27. That will give you plenty of time to get used to the idea of paying a minimum of $999. Eesh. Apple is already showing off its new camera, posting to Instagram a series of photos taken on the iPhone X: Shot on iPhone X by Jason N. @jason_nocito_studio - With support from Apple.A post shared by apple (@apple) on Sep 12, 2017 at 11:41am PDT Quality stuff! Apple Has Eyes For Netflix

Apple has been a shadow of the company it once was since Steve Jobs passed. Without a fearless man to take credit and attach his name to the innovation of others Apple is steering towards the direction of taking the easy way out. The post Apple Has Eyes For Netflix appeared first on wwtdd. Apple has been a shadow of the company it once was since Steve Jobs passed. Without a fearless man to take credit and attach his name to the innovation of others Apple is steering towards the direction of taking the easy way out. Shareholders shook in fear of a sinking ship when Apple announced the best feature on their new phone was the ability to send gender neutral emoji messages complete with moving mouths. Since the company is currently being sued for secretly slowing down older phones they need to make more revenue in the meantime to prepare for whatever ridiculous settlement amount is reached. Acquiring Netflix just may be the answer because if you can’t make it, you can always take it. In this era of giant media corporations swallowing one another, another major acquisition might be on the horizon. Industry analysts are predicting that an influx of Apple cash might soon lead to a flashy purchase for the tech giant; with Netflix itself painted as a prime target. Bear in mind that no official overtures have been made between Apple and Netflix, and media coverage of the prospect is often used to gauge interest in such landmark deals. Nonetheless – according to Business Insider – Citi analysts Jim Suva and Asiya Merchant have placed a 40% chance of Apple using a soon-to-be-unlocked infusion of $252 billion to purchase Netflix. The sum was previously under foreign jurisdiction, but the recently-passed Tax Cuts and Jobs Act provides “a one-time allowance for companies to repatriate cash stored overseas without a major tax hit.” The report also notes that while the Citi assessment was made before Disney acquired 21st Century Fox, an Apple-Disney merger was also previously seen as a possibility. Apple would only require a third of its $252 billion assets to buy Netflix, and has attempted for years to move into the original content space.  The glory days of Apple are behind us and Apple owning Netflix isn’t anything to look forward to. If a company can force mandatory U2 albums upon the population there’s no telling what they’ll do with Netflix. The possibility of post weight loss Jonah Hill films being unremovable from a watch later list on Netflix is more than enough grounds for terminating the subscription. If you thought Dear White People was cringe-worthy just wait until Dear Cis People shows up on the New On Netflix section after Apple owns them.  The post Apple Has Eyes For Netflix appeared first on wwtdd......»»

Any Z-list Real Housewife who’s anybody knows that there’s nothing classier than releasing a bottom-shelf wine available for purchase at your local gas station. So it makes sense that Lady Gaga, who at this point has just a hair more prestige than a drunk whore on Bravo, is hell-bent on releasing her own witch’s brew. Gaga is, almost endearingly by now, still trying to make her Joanne era a thing, but unfortunately is the last to know that audiences want to follow stars half her age famous for queefing out the alphabet on YouTube. Or whatever the fuck is going on out there. The lackluster success of her album Joanne, like ArtPop before that, as well as increasingly frantic and mockable professional endeavors like her appearances on American Horror Story, signal that the end is near. Nonetheless, the ol’ plow horse keeps plodding along, and really really wants her wine to be labeled Joanne Trattoria Vino Rosso. Apparently her family has some restaurant called Joanne Trattoria. What a creative and interesting tie-in. Unfortunately for Gaga, her wine is a Nono, at least according to officials from the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. The Blast reports that the officials claim the brand would infringe on the “Trattoria” name already trademarked by a company in the same marketplace. Old, drooping, soon-to-be put out to pasture in a Las Vegas residency, and now not even marketable to drunks dumb enough to buy wine from Lady Gaga. Lolz. The company responded to the growing horde of frustrated owners who say they notice a slower performance after upgrading their phones' software. The difference was discussed in a Reddit post then highlighted in a Geekbench blog post, putting Apple in the awkward situation of clearing the iCloud. Related: Facebook Announces Pilot Program To Block Revenge Porn In a statement on Thursday, Apple confirmed it has used iOS updates to throttle the CPU speed on older phones -- but only so owners can get "the best experience"! Apple explained that the performance of the phone's lithium-ion batteries can degrade over time, which is why phones suddenly shut down as a way to protect its components. Slowing down the processors, the company claims, makes it easier for these seasoned batteries to perform. They explained: "Our goal is to deliver the best experience for customers, which includes overall performance and prolonging the life of their devices. Lithium-ion batteries become less capable of supplying peak current demands when in cold conditions, have a low battery charge or as they age over time, which can result in the device unexpectedly shutting down to protect its electronic components." Apple added that its software updates for the iPhone 6, iPhone 6S, iPhone SE and iPhone 7 are designed to prevent these surprise shutdowns and essentially extend the batteries' lifespan -- but the updates can also cause a lag in performance. Related: Star Wars Fan May Have Rigged The Last Jedi Rotten Tomatoes Score! This "smoothing out" means that phones will reorder incoming commands to make sure not all of them are performed simultaneously, which causes a slowdown of the average response times by the device. For now, the slowdown affects select Apple phones, but the company plans to apply the same strategy to "other products in the future." Needless to say, many Apple fans are charged with anger. It may be a very Merry Christmas for Android this year. [Image via Apple.].....»»
