Shakira Postpones Her El Dorado World Tour Due To Vocal Cord Hemorrhage — Read Her Emotional Post

Shakira is postponing her El Dorado World Tour to focus on her health. In a heartbreaking letter shared to her Instagram on Tuesday, the Colombian singer-songwriter told her fans she is suffering a hemorrhage on her right vocal cord -- and won't be able to perform until 2018. The announcement came days after the 40-year-old canceled a slew of concerts over the past week due to being on "vocal rest." Related: Shakira & Gerard Piqué Shut Down Separation Rumors! No one is more bummed by the news than the pop superstar herself, who had been dedicating the last five months to preparing the world tour, only to come down with a "strange hoarseness" in her throat back in October. While she had hoped to recover in time for the tour, Shakira lamented that her hemorrhage has not yet healed and her "nightmare" of being on vocal rest continues. Read her full message (below): "To my friend and fans, For the last five months I've been wholly dedicated to preparing my El Dorado World Tour. However, these past few days, just before my first concerts, have been the hardest of my career. At the end of July I went for a routine checkup, before starting to design this tour and my doctor confirmed that my vocal cords were in perfect condition. Towards the end of October though, in the home stretch of my rehearsals, I felt a strange hoarseness that impeded my singing. The doctors, upon examination, detected that I had suffered a hemorrhage on my right vocal cord. I then went on vocal rest as recommended by the specialists in an attempt to recover in time for my first show in Cologne. Unfortunately the hemorrhage doesn't appear to have reabsorbed and my nightmare continues. At the moment I find myself in a difficult battle as I try to fully recover. It pains me not to be able to sing this month, for those have done even the impossible to get tickets and accompany me throughout the different countries of Europe. For my team of 60 plus people who have worked day and night until the last day to help me put together the best show of my artistic career, and who, like myself, are anxious to begin this tour. For my kids who were excited to see their mom in concert as soon as possible. And above all, of my fans, who have always been by my side through the good and the bad, and who deserve the best of me. In all the years I've been singing, I've never been faced with situation like this. As such, and with a heavy heart, I must announce that I find myself obliged to postpone my European tour until 2018, to allow my body several necessary weeks, dedicated to my complete recovery. Thanks to my fans throughout the world for their understanding and loyalty, for all the encouraging messages and affection they've transmitted to me, and for their prayers. I hope to overcome this difficult trial and to return to the stage as soon as possible, to once again hear your voices singing along with mine. I love all of you very much and I will always remember those who have been by my side during this time, offering their friendship and affection. Shakira" Such an awful situation. We hope Shakira takes the rest of 2017 easy so she can take the world by storm next year. [Image via FayesVision/WENN.].....»»

Back in June, the 36-year-old reality star shared a photo of her 1-year-old son Saint sitting forward in his car seat. Many people slammed Kim for putting Saint in a front-facing car seat at his age, when the American Academy of Pediatrics recommends that “infants and toddlers ride in a rear-facing seat until they are at least 2 years old or until they reach the highest weight or height allowed by their car seat manufacturer, which is typically about 40 pounds and 40 inches.” Kim recently uploaded a new video onto her app where she defended the photo by saying that Saint fits the requirements to sit forward. “So I took a photo of Saint and he was sitting forward and so they say for his age, he should be rear-facing,” Kim said in the video. “But what people didn’t know is that Saint is now the weight and the height requirement to sit forward-facing.” Kim went on to say that Saint actually weighs more than this 4-year-old sister North. “If that is believable, he does, and it is wild.” Kim Kardashian Responds to Mommy Shamers.....»»

Obdulia Sanchez (above) was taken into custody after Friday's crash that killed her 14-year-old sister and severely injured another 14-year-old girl. The 18-year-old driver was booked into the Merced County Jail on suspicion of DUI and vehicular manslaughter. According to the California Highway Patrol, Sanchez was driving under the influence southeast of San Francisco when the car veered onto the right shoulder of a road. Related: Prince Harry Reveals Last Time He Saw Mom Before Fatal Crash The Merced County Sheriff Vern Warnke says the driver overcorrected, causing the car to swerve across lanes and roll over into a wire fence and then into a field. Neither passenger was wearing her seatbelt. Family members confirmed to KFSN that Sanchez was live streaming on Instagram before, during, and after the crash -- even after she realized her little sister Jacqueline Sanchez had been ejected from the vehicle and killed. Sanchez reportedly said in the video: "I killed my sister, but I don't care. I killed my sister. I know I'm going to prison, but I don't care. I'm sorry baby. I'ma hold it down." Just... wow. We have no words. Relatives say Jacqueline, a Stockton native, was supposed to celebrate her Quinceanera on Sunday. Mary Hernandez of Stockton recorded the disturbing clip to point out the life-ending risks of live streaming on the road. She explained: "At first we didn't even want to believe it was real. I recorded it and posted it mainly because as someone who uses Snapchat I see a lot of people driving with their Snapchats doing what she was doing so to me it was like an eye opener." The video has been taken down, as it is being examined by the CHP as part of the investigation. Sanchez is being held on $300,000 bond. [Image via Merced County Sheriff's Office.].....»»
