"Bright" Director Responds to "Worst Movie of 2017" Review

The reviews for the new Netflix movie Bright have not been that great and now director David Ayer is responding to one review that called the film the “worst movie of 2017.” “BRIGHT, Netflix’s first mega-budget feature, is the single worst movie of 2017,” IndieWire’s David Ehrlich tweeted. In the review he wrote, “There’s boring, there’s bad, and then there’s Bright, a movie so profoundly awful that Republicans will probably try to pass it into law over Christmas break.” Ayer responded to the tweet and said, “This is going on my fridge. Highest compliment is a strong reaction either way. This is a f–king epic review. It’s a big fun movie. You can sure string words together Mr. Erlich. I’d love to read any script you’ve written.” Ehrlich replied by saying, “you’re a good man, mr. Ayer. i’ll be waiting with fresh eyes for whatever comes next.” “I really appreciate that. Every movie is a labor of love for me. I’ve never chased the audience, and I know my work can be polarizing. I’ve lived a crazy love and I guess my movies reflect that,” David responded. Blu-Ray Spotlight: Noomi Rapace Holds Action Keys With ‘Unlocked’

Although it featured a couple of wonderfully choreographed action scenes, the spy thriller Atomic Blonde was a bit of a disappointment. Flying much more under the radar was Unlocked, a thriller headlined by Noomi Rapace that, unlike the aforementioned film, hits the target. Rapace plays Alice Racine, a talented CIA interrogator who is haunted by a terrorist attack in Paris. Determined to make up for what she believed was her own failure to complete a mission on time, Racine attempts to stop an impending attack on London. Michael Douglas, Toni Collette and John Malkovich serve as her superiors in various departments (Douglas is her mentor and close friend), and they help Alice on her perilous mission. Orlando Bloom co-stars as a thief who also joins Alice, but he might have motivations of his own. Noomi Rapace, seen earlier this year in What Happened to Monday, does a great job as the determined agent and she once again proves she’s adept at handling dramatic and action sequences. Michael Apted, a veteran craftsman who also directed the James Bond feature The World Is Not Enough, was also the perfect choice to direct Unlocked. Filled with a ton of action and more twists than your average pretzel, Unlocked is a flick that’s definitely worth a look. The Blu-ray version comes with a 13-minute featurette on the making of the film and has interviews with Apted, Rapace, the producers, and the rest of the supporting cast. Gerard Butler And 50 Cent Face Off In ‘Den of Thieves’ Trailer

Although it will be hard to top director Michael Mann's heist thriller Heat, that doesn't mean the genre shouldn't rest its head on just one movie. Gerard Butler and 50 Cent are on opposite sides of the law in Den of Thieves, an action thriller about a group of bank robbers (including 50 Cent and O’Shea Jackson Jr.) who are planning to take down the Federal Reserve! Obviously these criminals are looking for a big score to set them for life, and attempting to stop them in their tracks is an elite unite of the Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department (led by Butler). The picture is the directing debut of Christian Gudegast, and like Heat this film mainly takes place in Downtown Los Angeles. Shootouts, car chases, and explosions should be part of this cinematic cocktail, and kudos to the trailer for effectively employing Kendrick Lamar’s “m.A.A.d City” to whet our appetites. Check out the trailer below and tell us what you think! Den of Thieves opens nationwide January 19, 2018. Donald Trump Puppet Jeff Sessions Calls For LESS Protection Against Transgender Discrimination

Guess Caitlyn Jenner's GOP influence didn't help that much after all… If you thought from a few offhand comments during the election that Donald Trump would at least be forward-thinking when it came to transgender discrimination, we're pretty sure he blew that out of the water with his ludicrous announcement of a military ban. Related: Trump Tells [...] Guess Caitlyn Jenner's GOP influence didn't help that much after all... If you thought from a few offhand comments during the election that Donald Trump would at least be forward-thinking when it came to transgender discrimination, we're pretty sure he blew that out of the water with his ludicrous announcement of a military ban. Related: Trump Tells Puerto Rico: 'You've Thrown Our Budget A Little Out Of Whack' But it isn't going to stop there. Buzzfeed News obtained a memo by Trump's Attorney General Jeff Sessions to his Justice Department staff basically reversing Barack Obama era discrimination protection. He wrote: "Title VII's prohibition on sex discrimination encompasses discrimination between men and women but does not encompass discrimination based on gender identity per se, including transgender status." WHAT?? He elaborated: "Although federal law, including Title VII, provides various protections to transgender individuals, Title VII does not prohibit discrimination based on gender identity per se. This is a conclusion of law, not policy. As a law enforcement agency, the Department of Justice must interpret Title VII as written by Congress." So you can't be fired because of what it says on your birth certificate, but you CAN be fired because of your actual gender identity?? That's going to be legal now?! HOW IS THIS MAN IN CHARGE OF INTERPRETING LAW?! Related: Sessions Once Said Grabbing Women By The Pussy Wasn't Necessarily Sexual Assault Notice he says it's not about policy, but make no mistake -- this is a directive to his DOJ to allow MORE discrimination. Sessions can feign adherence to the wording of the law all he wants, but that's total B.S. Just look at what Eric Holder, AG under Obama, wrote about the EXACT SAME LAW in a 2014 memo: "I have determined that the best reading of Title VII's prohibition of sex discrimination is that it encompasses discrimination based on gender identity, including transgender status. The most straightforward reading of Title VII is that discrimination ‘because of ... sex' includes discrimination because an employee's gender identification is as a member of a particular sex, or because the employee is transitioning, or has transitioned, to another sex." So don't act like your hands are tied, you racist puppet. Just send a memo saying you and your Nazi sympathizing boss hate anyone you don't understand and be done with it.
